But day by day overall, I feel a bit better. So hopefully sooner than later the pain will subside, let’s pray 🙏
This kinda happens to me when I was 12. I had a total knee reconstruction surgery and two feet surgery at the same time, which I wouldn’t move much for a couple of months. Granted, not to this extent in this video, but I’m still trying to lose the weight from that period 10 years ago; and my body makes it even harder for me because I have hypothyroidism, which slows the way your body produces and regulates hormones, which therefore, makes it harder to lose weight. This video definitely helped me out and motivated me to be more active! ☺️💪🏻
Dont give up in your fight to lose weight. It may feel endless, but you gotta keep at it. I suffer from adhd and my impulsive eating keeps me from eating healthily. Its a long road for me and seems hopeless, but i dont want to give up. 😀

I had a situation like this after getting covid. After working full time for the last 18 years, I was in bed almost entirely for two weeks; vertigo and weakness caused by covid kept me there. After recovering and returning to work, just getting out of bed was close to impossible for the first 4 or 5 days. I couldn't imagine what being inactive for a month would do, let alone a year.
I was severely depressed and stayed in bed for almost 6 months at one point. I lost weight instead of gaining it, as I didn't eat much. But after that I sprained my leg, broke two toes and sprained my rib when I started moving A LOT in the following six months, so it can happen quite fast... I was just 26. Get help if you're struggling, it's worth it even if it's hard.
I worked ambulance, we had to take a person to the hospital that was immense. We had to call fire backup because we physically couldn't pick him up, nor would he fit through the doors. They had to cut through his bedroom wall, we had to rent a haul to transport him since he wouldn't fit either the gurney or ambulance. He was transferred on a large sheet requiring 10 fire fighters to move him. Once at the hospital, there was no bed in the hospital large enough to hold him and he had to be place on the floor in the ER until they could order a special "big boy bed" from bed supplier. We left him there on the floor....
Thank you for the motivation to lose weight again. I started at 302 & got down to 253 before I plateaued for months. I got depressed more than normal & went back to binge eating as well as not eating for days on end. I’m now back up to over 280. This video is enough motivation for me to keep going.
I've been bedbound going on a decade I have a tumour in my spine, but I'm proof you don't instantly balloon if you eat a pretty standard diet but if you do it is very difficult to lose weight. I'm able to go for a short walk about once a month, am able to infrequently swim and do hydrotherapy, though I want to do more of it, I'm left in a lot of pain afterwards. I read books though mostly I use audiobooks, listen to music and play games. By far the hardest thing is socializing, making plans pretty much disappears when your bodies condition varies so much that I never know how I'll be on a given day. And being truthful to others about my condition is hard, if they ask me how I am I either have to lie and say I'm struggling but alright, because every time I've ever been honest about how bad I'm doing it freaks the other party out and they just don't respond at all.

Being active, even if it is just walking everyday is very important to your health. From your cardiovascular, muscular-skeletal, digestive, even neurological health. Our bodies are designed to move. My spouse had a back injury and hardly moved and got blood clots, one becoming a pulmonary embolism, which almost took him out.
Almost 6 years ago my older brother passed away, I was relatively skinny at the time or at least I wasn't fat, I was 14 at the time and 5'6 or 5'7 weighing about 180-210 lbs mind you I had been working out at a gym at least 4-5 times a week and had been for 2 years at the time, but after my brother passed I stopped working out and started eating more food until just 3 months later I was weighing 264 lbs and eventually I got to 350 lbs, I'm now trying to lose all that weight but so far I'm only down to 319 lbs, also I'm 5'9 or 5'10 now
I work with a 14 year old girl who was rett syndrome, which basically means it is VERY difficult for her to control her body. With puberty in the last 2 years she put on a bit of weight and it definitely makes everything more difficult for her. But the whole reason she gained so much weight is the fact she has so much difficulty moving, walking or doing anything combined with her "teenage" hunger (maybe because she grew up, her body thought it needed more calories?) Anyway it really motivates me to continue to push her and make her move and stay as active as she can. Even if she cannot run, jump or swim, and has limited mobility
Stress is a requirement in doing anything that's worth doing. Stress can be good. The human anatomy proves it. So get up, get active and pursue what you want to do in life. Figuring out what you want to do is stressful. Good. It means you're doing something meaningful. Go get it.
I recall hearing about a woman like this that began her weight-loss journey by simply clapping her hands ten minutes a day for a couple weeks. She ended up walking and lost hundreds of pounds.
Physical therapists who specialize in bariatric cases do just that - find movements the patients can do, even if it's just waving their arms, and work up from there.
This is great motivation for those who want to change their lifestyle. Especially now, where more people remain in there houses for long stretches of time.
5:40. Let me just confirm from someone here who has lost 167 pounds to date. Yes, when you are sedentary, do not excercise, and let yourself go? You become stupider, or at least your brain has a " fog" as I like to put it. That is hard to overcome and makes it difficult to really expand as a human being. Ever since my peak weight of 420 pounds, now all the way down to 253? I have experienced, in fact well before this? A clearer mind, my thoughts come faster and are clearer than before. I couldn't explain why, I thought it was the strain I was putting on my circulatory system pumping blood to the brain. As it turns out, it was this all along. Thanks infographics!
Curtis, that is beyond impressive. That's a massive accomplishment. And you raised such a valid point regarding the quagmire that envelops your mind. "Fog" definitely hit it on the head.
This is very informative. Makes me really want to go workout. I used to work out a lot more before covid. Now I definitely got a reason. At least my job keeps me fit.the facility I work at I have to do a lot of walking. I've never been happier to work there than I am now looking at this.
These kind of fears are why I'm trying to watch what I eat, exercise and movement are difficult with chronic pain and my disability, and try moving when I can. Sure I may not have a brilliant diet but I know if I weigh too much it'll cause more pain so its a balancing act but seems to be working so far.

I had surgery in Sept and couldn't walk for 10 weeks. After those 10 weeks it was slow recovery, I just started to be able to go down stairs. I lost all my strength in my quads and calfs put on a ton of wait (at least 30lbs on top on covid 20) I've has to watch most of these things.
During nursing school we went to a long term care place that specializes in bariatrics aka morbidly obese people. I had to care for people SO BIG, 450 plus pounds, we had to use a machine to lift them out of bed into a specialized reclined wheel chair. If they COULD get out of bed… they were glorified blobs. The rolls were infected and stunk like rotting flesh. There is zero quality of life. Stay healthy and try hard.
I am 30 and have been almost housebound for 18 months since I started suffering with vertigo and chronic dizziness 24|7. I try to go out for small 5 minute walks but it is difficult. It worries me that I have sat in bed all this time and I wonder all the time what I am doing to my body. I used to work 12 hour shifts at work on my feet all day, I had never ending energy and stamnia. I was a super active person. It’s heartbreaking to look back now. Luckily I have never been overweight and even after sitting in bed for a year and a half eating a lot of KFC, I am still somehow slim! I know my insides must be unhealthy though. I back this idea. I have had a torn hip labrum since 20 years old and need surgery, and I suspect it has specifically to do with overuse and never resting.

What is sad is that big businesses are encouraging longer work hours without giving their workers decently lengthy breaks so people spend 10 hours at their desks for a two-week pay check while risking illness
I'm so glad that they now motivate people to get up as soon as it is safe, even after surgery. I had a tumour removed from my breast this year, and I was getting up to use the bathroom even on day 1, and starting from day 2, we all had our meals in the cafeteria style room. I think this was good because you got to see the other women. And the one male doctor who went there to get his coffee, looking as if he thought he was on forbidden territory. Even when he was not.
I had a back injury back in 2013 and don’t get much exercise because I can’t bend and then walking even for the most part hurts. Definitely going to look into getting more exercise now.
I'm no doctor, but as far as I know, without drugs you can't grow too much muscle. You can only lift so much so many times. You can try to lift too much and end up hurting yourself.
“The heart doesn’t know the difference between muscle and fat” even tho Rich Piana used steroids he mentioned that in a video and he also stated that body building is not a healthy lifestyle
There is a hormone called myostatin which limits muscle growth and overall muscle mass, so our muscles can't grow without a limit like fat; if your muscles were to grow indefinitely tho you would probably break your bones by just moving and your body would require a enormous ammount of nutrition

Exactly. Between my mom's chronic illness and her mental health problems, plus the condition of her bones, makes moving excruciating. She eats a fairly healthy diet, doesn't over eat either.
Unfortunately there's people who are extremely over weight and literally can't get up to simply walk to use their own bathroom at home. I hope they can overcome their situation and get healthy in every aspect, mentally emotionally and even trying to change ones mentality to even start the process of putting in the work to get the results needed and desired. I had surgery 8 years ago which caused me to stay on my couch for a month. Luckily I have a job that forces me to be pretty active. I’ve learned sometimes you just need to squeeze in exercise. When the alarm clock rings turn on some dance music and dance for 10 minutes. Park on the farthest end of the parking lot. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One day I ordered those deep fried chocolate bars in a restaurant in Sarajevo. They were rather delicious and served with ice-cream. I enjoyed them just once. It's important to control your urges, but also not to suppress them ❤
This is a life lesson, hope yall don’t end up like anybody here in this video, you don’t wanna be this fat, stay healthy, exercise and work out and don’t eat too much unhealthy food, you are good as who you are, if you are a bit obese, what are you waiting for? Get on your feet and have a nice walk somewhere like the park. So stay healthy people
Yep, why am I laying in bed listening to this. Er, I’m glad I listened to this, now I’m getting up. I do swim everyday but arthritis hurts. I don’t eat much though.
I think there should be a few things mentioned on your food packages in bold letters. 1) The number of calories & the composition of the said calories in the food item or package. 2) There should be prohibitive taxes on processed and fast foods which can help make them unaffordable for regular consumption. 3) Diet awareness should be something that should start right from our school days. It is then that our minds are most impressionable. 4) Offices should have compulsory exercise times for employees. ( This is practiced in China & Japan if i am not mistaken) 5) Subsidize healthy foods & health centres, gyms, swimming pools etc. 6) Encourage people to take a bicycle or walk to work. ( again Japan & Denmark too can be our inspiration ) Let us remember that it doesn't make sense to sacrifice our health for money & then spend all that money on Doctors, Dietitians & assorted others trying to regain our health. 🙏🏼
Things like this makes me grateful I have a dog, live in NYC, and make it a priority to workout even if it’s for 30 minutes. People have told me because I’m skinny that exercising isn’t necessary but I know that’s not true at all.
What about if it's really difficult to move around a lot? I have chronic Osteo-arthritis, bursitis in my left hip and shoulder, and also have fibromyalgia.........all of which means I'm in constant pain, and can't walk around a lot

Hmm you could almost say the universe is a hostile environment hardly suitable for life, ultimately fatal for all and it's a miracle we're alive to begin with.
As a kid I got surgery on my back and was bed bound for the better part of a semester, as to not rip the stitches (they didn’t trust me to be careful if I did move cause, well, young hyperactive kid). I gained so much weight and lost so much muscle mass it took me the rest of a year to get back to my old self, and even then I had to be watched by doctors for a while because of the change and I could get injured from taking on too much too soon. Sometimes when I’m not doing too well and can’t get out of bed I remember that time and it usually motivates me to get up, because now I, at least physically, can. I’ll couple it with this video tho, really worked today
I'm the same way but my way of keeping on on my mind is documentary's on learning new things but I do walk when I need to grocery shopping or doctors appointment
I had a neighbor that was a close friend always over. Never went for a walk or did anything physically needed for overall health. However was quick to blame me for her diabetes and lifestyle. We are no longer friends. I told her I got tired of being blamed even though we ate healthy food like fish, vegetables and fruit. After that she went home had candy chips, soda etc. You can only help those that help themselves. She also attempts suicide every time she wants attention, cuts to get people concerned and not deep enough for damage. Local hospital stopped accepting her for the lies and drama she creates for attention.

Your voice was very calming in this video it seems, actually helping me relax from all the stress right now, thank you
THIS IS MY GYM MOTIVATION....
These kind of fears are why I'm trying to watch what I eat, exercise and movement are difficult with chronic pain and my disability, and try moving when I can. Sure I may not have a brilliant diet but I know if I weigh too much it'll cause more pain so its a balancing act but seems to be working so far.
Just focus on eating the more nutrient dense foods like meats, fish, eggs, non-starchy veggies stuff like that and even fast if you feel like it.

Wow, tours of that bariatric LTC facility might help motivate people who are at risk of extreme obesity.
I need to start trying to move more before bad things
Me: "I would never do that. Sitting in bed all day must be boring and its gonna damage my body"
Also me: *stays in bed for the whole weekend*
I wouldve just run around the house if my leg wasnt making walking painful

Could you make a video about what happens if you never stop moving?
I back this idea. I have had a torn hip labrum since 20 years old and need surgery, and I suspect it has specifically to do with overuse and never resting.
Hey Infographics, I would like to suggest a video on CTE. Its pretty unknown and hopefully it would raise awareness for CTE.

It takes awhile for you to notice that you're losing weight (other people will notice before you), but when you see it start happening it'll shed fast. Especially if you become addicted to working out.
Was watching 1,000 lb Sisters and it breaks my heart that she isn't doing better for herself and I was curious what would happen to her body if she didn't move. Good timing on this video.
my whole life i've been stationary and not liked doing anything physically. christmas 2020 i decided i am going to start losing weight. at the time i was 490 pounds. through diet and excersize routines and a tight sleep schedule i have lost 130 pounds so far and plan to lose much more.

What is sad is that big businesses are encouraging longer work hours without giving their workers decently lengthy breaks so people spend 10 hours at their desks for a two-week pay check while risking illness
I was once in ICU and didn't move for 7 days, when I stood up my legs felt like rubber bands. I couldn't imagine what any longer would do.
Now I’m curious. what happens to the human when muscles keep growing? I know having too much body fat is bad, but what about muscle?
You're the first person to think of that
I'm no doctor, but as far as I know, without drugs you can't grow too much muscle. You can only lift so much so many times. You can try to lift too much and end up hurting yourself.
“The heart doesn’t know the difference between muscle and fat” even tho Rich Piana used steroids he mentioned that in a video and he also stated that body building is not a healthy lifestyle
So really only if you’re crazy huge it’ll be dangerous. Normal weight training is great for you
There is a hormone called myostatin which limits muscle growth and overall muscle mass, so our muscles can't grow without a limit like fat; if your muscles were to grow indefinitely tho you would probably break your bones by just moving and your body would require a enormous ammount of nutrition
Not moving for 6-8 hours everyday for 18 years. Sounds a little bit like school to me. Good Video!

What about those with chronic illnesses where exercise makes them worse…? I.E Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Fibromyalgia, POTS….
Exactly. Between my mom's chronic illness and her mental health problems, plus the condition of her bones, makes moving excruciating. She eats a fairly healthy diet, doesn't over eat either.
@@HELyasss I hope shes dealing okay! It always picks on the good ones huh? ♥
Unfortunately there's people who are extremely over weight and literally can't get up to simply walk to use their own bathroom at home. As a nursing student I feel really good remembering all the health stuff from semesters ago like lipolipase is an enzyme that helps break down fat
As a Scotsman, I can say deep fried chocolate bars are actually pretty good
I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One day I ordered those deep fried chocolate bars in a restaurant in Sarajevo. They were rather delicious and served with ice-cream. I enjoyed them just once. It's important to control your urges, but also not to suppress them ❤

( This is practiced in China & Japan if i am not mistaken)
5) Subsidize healthy foods & health centres, gyms, swimming pools etc.
6) Encourage people to take a bicycle or walk to work. ( again Japan & Denmark too can be our inspiration )
Let us remember that it doesn't make sense to sacrifice our health for money & then spend all that money on Doctors, Dietitians & assorted others trying to regain our health. 🙏🏼
