This is a bit extreme. At least for me. I can't speak for everyone, but I can speak for me. On that note I've completed a 21 day fast a few times. I never had hallucinations of my furniture turning into food. I still have all my teeth. I didn't turn into skin and bones in the process. I was hangry in the three days, but that passes. Finally breaking the fast takes a little while to get back to eating normal.

@@saturnbabiee0286 Start by doing intermittent fasting. If you haven’t fasted before, it would be very abrupt to the body to go from eating as you usually do to stop eating for a few days out of the blue because you’d have a lot of cravings because your body is not yet used to fasting.
If I were you I would gradually increase my fasting time from intermittent fasting 16:8, after 2 weeks do OMAD 23:1 for other 2 weeks and then do water fasting for 2 or 3 days.
After your body is really used to fasting you can even extend your water fasting for 1 week and so on. I’ve personally extended it just for 3 days and I sometimes do alternate day fasting, meaning that I spend 48 hours without eating, and either way you lost heck ton of weight in short time.

The longest I haven’t eaten for was four days. The biggest effect I noticed was my mood. I was extremely irritable. I felt weak but I was still able to do everything I could while eating. For me, it was unhealthy. I was addicted to starving myself. I felt so good when I looked at other people eating and knowing that I was ‘stronger’. I had an eating disorder. Even though the longest I hadn’t eaten for four straight days only once, it was starving myself and then binging long before and long after that. I never saw my bed turn into a burger though. One weird thing was that once, I was brushing my teeth and reallyyyyyy wanted to eat it. It tasted so good in that moment. It was really weird.

i am a survivor of arfid (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) its an eating disorder that is trauma and autism related, i have had the disorder for about 6 years, and in the peaks of the disorder i would go months without eating anything solid because i never felt hunger at all during the past 6 years, what kept me alive during all those years without feeling hunger and going months without eating was the fact that i slept a lot and i still got the feeling of thirst, my thirst is what kept me alive as i would be 100% reliant on chai teas (which contained lots of creams and sigar) and milk and occasionally i would drink juice, it took 5 years for my weight to drop down to 100 lbs, and im 5’8, before the eating disorder i was 126 which was the most i’ve ever weighed in my life. for about 2-3 years i we couldn’t figure out what was going on and why i wouldn’t eat, even doctors were confused and kept giving me treatments for heartburn or extra acid, it wasn’t until i talked to someone online who happened to have arfid and told me about it, i then looked it up and i was like “i think i finally found what’s going on” it took an additional 2-3 years after that before i finally started to feel hunger pains for the first time in 6 years. it was weird because as soon as i stopped taking my medications used for depression i started to feel hunger and started to eat again.

As a struggling anorexic about a couple months or so ago I would've said this video is nonsense. I've gone weeks on just water and soymilk, and been able to fully function, running and jumping, working and everything with a mood better than it'd ever been.
But right now I've lost almost 20 pounds in two weeks, while having already been slender. Which had never happened before. After a certain point it isn't that your body becomes just fine as much as your mind gets very good at convincing you that you're A-OK up until a certain point in order to keep you from panicking or seeking hope in a hopeless situation, which would compromise survival. It's like how people with terrible injuries like losing arms or being impaled can just seemingly shrug them off due to all the adrenaline in their body. Or how people going through trauma can dissociate or "zone out", mentally leaving so they don't know or feel what's happening to their bodies. I felt light, happy, elated and in a wonderful mood. Up until I'd noticed that my joints were constantly "popping" and everything hurt more for reasons I couldn't understand. Then the reality came crashing in and suddenly I was all but bedridden. Feeling cold is also spot-on as are the mood swings till the dissociation hits. Starving and fasting can bring the most euphoric highs and pleasantness. That's why it's so dangerous too, because it then becomes addictive for many. But right now, I think I feel a lot better now that I'm eating again.

I did supplement electrolytes and took a daily multivitamin, but I went from 258 lbs to 197 lbs in those 50 days and greatly improved my health. While it definitely requires enough body fat to sustain a long term fast, your body does not break down significant muscle mass while fasting. I will say that cycling shorter fasts is probably more sustainable for significant weight loss because of less need to refeed carefully and less rebound weight gain, but prolonged fasting has many significant health benefits and is far from what this fear mongering propaganda video would have you believe.

So much so that the CIA actually utilized both scorpions and tarantulas to psychologically torture suspected terrorists for information. I think its important to clear the fact that...this doesn't really happen so quickly
You take around 3 days to finish the glucose supply in your body, after 3 days you start using muscle instead of body fat to make energy.
After 2-3 weeks is when your organs start decreasing in size, but it doesn't happen so rapidly.
You don't usually feel tired all the time, in fact you may feel more energized.
But again, all this depends on the amount of body fat you have.
If you're very very skinny, what is said in the video might happen to you.
If you're overweight, you'll have enough glucose to last you a while
There was once a case where a severely overweight guy went on a fast for 382 days, under the supervision of doctors, and he was given enough multivitamins
He dropped from 465lbs to 180lbs by the end of 382 days

Four weeks of fasting brought me down from about 18% bodyfat to 6%, and I was none the worse off, I filled up quickly and recovered my lost muscle mass. I never had any of these symptoms while on my long-term fasting. My teeth didn't fall out or my bones didn't snap. Hunger is a problem when you first start but it does go away after a while. I was clear-headed and felt fine. Plus I saved so much money on groceries since the only thing I needed to buy was water. I also had a lot of extra time throughout the day since I wasn't spending it on eating or going #2 all the time. I started with three-day fasts and went up to three weeks without eating. I went from a size waist 48.5 down to 34. My main issue with long-term fasting is reintroducing food into my body. For the first 24-48 hours, you can only have small amounts of soft foods like broth or apple sauce. After your first movement after eating those soft foods for your first meals, you should be okay to eat regularly.

The first 2 days I do feel manageable hunger , but the following days my state improves to a a way higher state than regularly. I usually start to eat gradually again on the end of the seventh day , but I do so out of safety more than from hunger .

Even for Infographics, there's an impressive amount of misinformation here. There are two nutrients that you absolutely need--protein and fat. Glucose and carbs are NOT one of them. You'd do perfectly well if another carb never crossed your lips again. Almost all humans can also easily fast for several weeks (those who are malnourished, pregnant women, and children should generally not fast) and researchers have fasted for a year or more under close medical supervision. At least they mentioned ketones, but they weren't accurate on those. Shocking for this channel, I know. Your brain will quickly adapt to using ketones for fuel as soon as you run out of glucose, which takes about two days on average.
You may have heard the term "keto flu." This is your body a) becoming used to burning ketones and fat for fuel and b) rebalancing your electrolytes. It can last for about two weeks, but you can stave off most of the symptoms by eating a lot of fat (if you aren't fasting) and adding a proper electrolyte mix to your water. Sipping bone broth can also help if you aren't doing a strict fast or if you are fasting over a very long period of time.

Hmmm... I wish to provide some insight about ketones. These molecules or particles, we can call them as ever you wish. The science community from valid experts still argue about the sources of ketone bodies (I mean to referring to the structure of source).
Biological or chemical, still been under research by valid experts.
On my side I started to do periodic fasting, not that long and so insanely as portraited in the video. The idea as like described in the video for fun now. But to not lose the practical sense of what am I talking about.
The ketone bodies work through themselves with side-processes, which means that HGH (Human Growth Hormone) also increase in number by 7x times. If you also combine your periodic fasting with moderate rate of exercise... Like walk a bit more or do HIIT. You can introduce a muscle-preservation measure and that is the desired result caused by the 20-40x times increased rate of HGH in your immune system, which is only uses your stored fat for energy usage. But that is can be repeated after a certain period of time. Like your body also does some adjustments as the glucose turn down nearly zero in your body (absolute zero is impossible). Some good note: Like self-eating: Recycle or throws-out garbage proteins and cells.
The body also starts to use lesser amount of protein particles, to rebuild or deconstruct your muscle tissue. It means the next in English: Your body starts to switch off and on certain hormone balancing measures, depending on sources of fuel or quality of activities. Like your insulin resistance very slowly, but gradually turn more sensitive. It means usually turn much less reactive and remains in the healthy range, when your cells start to get more signals and require carbs/sugar as fuel.

from experience it is not exactly like that, the first 3 days are difficult but after you go beyond your body purifies itself especially the liver and you will crave sleeping, to continue fasting you should distract yourself and do exercises is the best way after about 2 weeks you may completely lose your appetite or you will be much more tired to the point of fainting and obviously you will lose weight but all of this changes from people to people.
Ps. You can do it for losing weight by drinking only water, would be better that after 2 weeks you start doing omad or better just one meal a day trying different diets to see which one works best but only healthy foods, without snacks and of corse doing exercise but don't overdo it do it; only if it works and if you are ok or if you are followed by a doctor how i already said all of this changes from people to people.

Hi i'm only 17 but through childhood i've experienced a lot of tough and unbearable things here on Philippines we're poor but we're very religious i keep praying and praying that one day we'll make it out at this misery and be happy every morning that comes but i know the pain and test of faith is worth when God's reward is an everlasting life, i can say that I have more experience than some men in their 20's, at an age of 5 i've learned how to sell stuff and make money for my family and i'm only kinder but still isn't enough to escape starvation i've become mentally insane just the age of 14 due to food deprivation and i need to take a break from school to take care of myself more and to recover faster because of my focus being impaired and disoriented, and it's also the year my cousin died he's body can't handle so much starvation at the young age, it really determines whether you're tough mentally, physically and most importantly spiritually thank God i recovered less than 6 months without the use of antipsychotic drugs we can't really afford but i've been through months of sleepless nights feel like i'm going to die at every second passing, my heart beat so fast and i have no energy at all it's just a miracle that i survived and living till now. After that i continue to help my family but be more cautious about my health and stop when i needed to rest, and yes we're selling anything legal there is just to feed our aching tummy thanks to God's mercy i Graduated Senior Highschool while supporting my family through anything i'm now a 12th grader (ICT STRAND) as a teenager i have like a soldier's mental and physical toughness. Willing to serve and sacrifice my life to Philippines i'll participate if they needed additional soldiers when the time comes. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING MY STORY! GOD BLESS US LET'S FIND JESUS IN OUR HEARTS.
Edit: I forgot one of the most important thing NEVER give up!

Normally, infographics is great show. But there’s a ton of misinformation in this video which is unfortunate.

@@marklawrence5716 way to extreme. As someone who has done multiple Fasts at or just over a week this is completely exaggerated.

Once due to a terrible health condition I couldn’t open my mouth for 2 weeks. I was deprived of food much longer than that, but during the 2 week period I ate absolutely nothing. At the beginning I was 39kg and at the end I was 31kg. I was 18 years old. I still have post traumatic stress disorder due to this period. It repeated but not to such extend. I was crying when hearing words like food, kilograms, weight etc and anything that can cause again the same health condition. Btw no doctors or hospitals were involved. They didn’t consider and still don’t consider this a real problem. Even if a doctor sends me to be hospitalised in the hospitals they will refuse to do it and send me back home. I gained back the lost 8kgs but had some memory issues. And the worst part was that the reason I couldn’t eat was I was feeling pain I cannot explain coming from more than 50 wounds in my mouth glued to each other. it was so bad, that I was both hungry and in pain and when I was trying to open my mouth and eat, my brain wasn’t allowing my mouth to open as self defence. I was crying holding the fork in front of my mouth super hungry, but it wasn’t opening. If anyone struggles with aphtas or stomatitis or have kids with this conditions I’m available to exchange info.

I've fasted on water and electrolytes for 14 days several times and felt fine, worked full time and had no ill effects.
