    I think you must of missed Robert's tutorial on how to descend and that's not to adjust throttles but flap position as radial engines don't like to change engine speed as it wears them out quicker.

      Indeed, the PMDG tutorial is fascinating to watch. Also the way in which the aircraft slows down before starting final approach is interesting.

    Hey Froogle, thanks for a great video and that was a lovely landing. I was wondering if you have watched the tutorial series by PMDG they do quite a cool system of leaving the throttles alone and controlling the descent almost purely on the flaps. It's really interesting. It's because of you I'm actually tempted to buy MSFS just so I can have this aircraft model.

    There's a clickspot to center the gyro roll wheel ? Dang, I *knew* I'd learn something useful from you Froogle !

    Nicely done dude. It’s a really nice aircraft to fly. I’m still getting to grips with the autopilot, but flying it manually is a lot of fun. Not trying to downplay that beautiful landing, but it lands itself surprisingly softly. I was amazed at how well I landed it the first time I tried it out.

    Really wish they had done detailed pax window frames like the default Asobo airliners... really adds to the overall experience without necessitates a full virtual cabin.

    This sim looks stunning in 4k, wish I could get hold of a 3070 graphic card that could run the game at 4k ultra and replace the potato that's been stuck in my machine for the last 10 months.

      You will have a job ahead of you running it at 4K 60 Ultra everything with a 3070. I have a WC 3080 and it has trouble at times. All depends on your FL and the scenery beneath you.

      @@zorbalight3933 anything would be better than the 1070 I have in my machine at the moment. When I built a new PC last year. I was like we will just put my 1070 in and then buy a 3070 as they were due out in September. Was no point in getting a 2070ti or whatever the latest one was. Little did I know we would be stuck, nearly a year later with them cards being still mostly impossible. Can get the game to run at 30, with most thing either low or medium. Machine is able to go so much more, just held back by the card.

      Tell me about it. I've been stuck with my lowly 2070S for the last year and it's driving me nuts.

      Stuck with a 1060 here, and with a HP Reverb G2 mostly gathering dust because I was also taken by surprise at the GPU shortages - was waiting for the headset to arrive last year before upgrading... oops. By the time I get much use out of the VR headset it'll be long out of warranty. But MSFS is still quite playable in 2D at 2K, even with the PMDG DC-6, so life isn't too bad really :) (But I'll gladly take a donation of a 1070 or 2070!)

      @@WhiteHawk77 Its got an I7-7900k which is overclocked, gigabyte Z390 aurous pro. 2 16gb sticks of corsair rgb pro ram. some more corsair rgb fans and cooler. Its a decent machine, just held back by the old card. Thats had a longer run that it should have due to the graphics card shortage.

    Butter but looks very hard to land, very heavy plane!

    • @musefan12345
      @musefan12345 3 года назад +1

      It’s surprisingly easy to land. I say this as someone who struggles to make gentle landings on many different aircraft. The DC6 nearly lands itself once you’re on a good glide path.

    • @pitbullvicious2505
      @pitbullvicious2505 3 года назад

      @@musefan12345 I agree with the easy to land sentiment, once the approach is good, but so far I've been having difficulties with descent and approach and getting it to slow down in time :) Slowly getting better with that, after watching the PGMD tutorials several times. Then again, I'm a rather unexperienced simmer, with most of my time on either small GA planes, Il-2 (starting from an ooold one) and DCS. Great fun flying this one, and a lot to learn in terms of technical details, which I love.

    • @musefan12345
      @musefan12345 3 года назад +1

      @@pitbullvicious2505 yeah it’s all about the approach. It’s quite difficult to slow down, and it sometimes feels like you’re fighting against it. If you’re using the assisted first officer, make sure you trigger the “before landing” feature good and early. This will hand you back full control of the throttle levers so you can slow the approach. Once you have the speed under control, the rest is easy.
