First they gifted Max a championship, now they're enforcing a rule that hasn't been enforced since he's been driving.
If there's a crash that involves fire no amount of flame retardant clothing is going to stop the metal jewellery heating up and causing burns. So from a safety PoV banning jewellery makes perfect sense.

Why can't the FIA (and the media) openly and clearly explain that the measure is for the driver's own safety, in case of a crash and, for example, the need for an MRI scan? Metals need to be removed from the patient before the scan due to the strong magnetic field produced by the scanner. If the driver has something permanently attached to the body which would need to be searched and surgically removed, the delay in diagnosis could be life threatening. Lewis is probably not aware of this, so why is it so difficult for the FIA to clarify the reasons?? Geezus... it's such a small effort to cure ignorance.

Let him sign a disclaimer, and if he has an accident and they can't get him in a MRI Scanner quick enough and he goes onto die, well it's his own fault, But if we're talking about setting an example to young F3 drivers, who are told to obey the rules, what are you going to end up with anarchy !!!!

I'm surprised with all the safety protocols in F1 that the drivers have been allowed to do it. I think is does pose a safety hazard in a high impact, earrings have sharp ends. Necklaces could cut or choke you. I've broken my wrist falling with a watch on. There's plenty of other sports where is it banned. You aren't in the car to make a fashion statement, you are there to be a professional driver. @@ejsplays3446 Yeah he can wear whatever he wants....outside of the car. You have to remove it to play most ball sports, you have to remove it for some medical procedures. There's reasons for this. And if you think a thin metal object implanted in your skin cant cause any issues under the right circumstances then there's probabably not much point going on with your argument. I think the FIA have a perfect and valid point when you look at the burns suffered by Niki Lauda and Romain Grosjean. Sorry Lewis you wouldn’t be saying it if it happened to you. I hated the Halo but look at what it’s saved
Now, I don’t believe this is not FIA personally targeting Lewis anymore. After so many years, they suddenly noticed piercings and elevated it to the main issue. I’d like to finally see FIA doing something good, because for now the only person doing good things for F1, its people and fans is Hamilton and sometimes Vettel. This is only no jewellery when in the car, for safety reasons, like if they need an MRI scan after a crash. Such a small thing for these drivers to do. The are in a very privileged position, they should be professional about it. Wear what you want outside the car, even though LH looks a bit silly wearing three watches and eight rings, to try and make a point about something that a true professional wouldn’t waste time on
Non ferrous precious metals like gold and silver are allowed in an MRI scanner FYI.
You know normal people have piercings before MRI too right? News flash, they take them off before the scan! Just like they'd do for a driver. Should they not wear clothes because the surgeons can't access their skin to operate? How will they do it?

I kind of agree in one way that it's probably aimed at Lewis, but in another if it's the same rules for everyone then he's not a victim here.
He just happens to be the one that wears more than anyone else, but it's not singling out one person if it's a rule for all
It is ok to wear 3 wrist watches as long as you won't be late
Which is pertinent? The global carbon footprint in F1 or a piece of jewellery a racer adorns?
2021: “ omg FIA didn’t enforce the rules”
2022: “ omg stop enforcing the rules”
We all literally asked for this. It isn’t even a new rule.
Bullshit
Sorry - who asked the FIA to enforce a jewellery rule?? They haven't enforced it for a reason, because it's irrelevant for the sport. They are enforcing it to get Hamilton to retire. First they gifted Max a championship, now they're enforcing a rule that hasn't been enforced since he's been driving.
@@namenotavailable11 gets mad when fia doesn’t enforce the rules… and mad when they do. You’re legit the target audience for this . Lol 😂
If there's a crash that involves fire no amount of flame retardant clothing is going to stop the metal jewellery heating up and causing burns. So from a safety PoV banning jewellery makes perfect sense.
so that includes wedding rings? because as Lewis said he only drives with his nose ring and ear ring.. so what about those who have wedding rings they should be taken off too?
Grosjean had the wedding ring and the ring didn't melt on his finger..to melt gold or silver you need over 1.000 C and at this temperatures you are dead with or without them...
Except they dont wear Jewellery in the car! It is removed!

Drivers may need an MRI, CAT scan or x rays before the helmet or race suit can be removed. They may require emergency surgery. Not racing in jewellery is not much to ask......
No one races with jewellery on pal. They are too strict about body weight etc etc. this is about paddock dress code
@@itsmeprasad1987 from what I understand they didn't entirely ban jewelry, it's just that they can't wear them when racing
It just shows how F1 is going about everything completely wrong. Can we just keep the focus on the cars and the racing, and also not banning every clever innovation any team comes up with too? Supposed to be the pinnacle of Motorsport, yet they ban every innovation and are more bothered about drivers wearing jewellery. Ridiculous.
They only want them to stop wearing it when they're in the F1 car on the track. It is ridiculous that this is even a debate. You fools are making it look like they're controlling their lives.
Jewelry is innovation? 🤣🤣🤣 Simple, all drivers need to follow the safety rules. Period. 'No jewelry and watch in car'. Simple
It's a clever innovation unless its on a RBR car... then it's cheating, right?

FIA : No Jewelries
Lewis : "More Jewelries? Done"
I thought all jewellery was taken off for the race, for weight saving. Off the track who cares.
It’s off track and garage, Hamilton can change that before he goes into the garage.
To clarify is it only when they are in the car they cannot wear the jewellery??
yep
yes, lewis is saying it shouldnt matter since the only jewellery he wears in contained by the helmet so why should it matter so much when hes been doing it for years prior

Lewis Hamilton at Abu Dab: "Thats wrong FIA, you should enforce the rules"
Lewis Hamilton when FIA Enforces Rules: "Thats wrong FIA, Im not going to race if I cant wear jewelry, this is wrong"
It's titanium. MRI safe.
@@maneeshpathik5802 The doctors might not have time to find what metal the patient is wearing. Whether it's ferromagnetic, diamagnetic or paramagnetic.
They take off piercings of normal people before an MRI scan. How is this any different for a driver? Cut the rings off before scan, simple. FIA are doctors now? Should they not wear clothes so the surgeons can get access to their skin quickly?
@@FenomeSean It would be very strange if the FIA had been making these decisions without consultation with doctors. In fact it would be very strange if any of the safety-related measures were taken without consultation with experts in trauma and head injury. Question to the doctors/experts in the house: is there a legitimate medical reason to ban jewellery, given the risk that racing drivers face in their job? What are the situations where you foresee complications or increased risk for the health and life of the drivers, in case of a serious accident?
Completely agree.
There’s a logical reason re: MRI.
Why can’t Lewis just suck it up and do what everyone else has to do??
He should try wearing all this during a race and see if it helps solve the porpoising haha
Hamo never late with all them watches.

Hamilton 2022: The rules should not be obeyed
Just the 3 watches. It’s always good to know what time it is.
So the fia say jewellery is possibly dangerous for drivers and he thinks he is above it..
And all over the world kids are being told not to wear jewellery to their sports clubs because it could be dangerous.
Well done Lewis that'll be alot of kids now wanting to break the rules ..
That's it really. The rules say no jewelry and I assume this is for various safety grounds. For 40 million a year - follow the rules!
He is just trying to make an issue out of everything these days.
Need more attention since he is no more at the front??
How appropriate: Dutch centuries old expression: Even if a monkey wears a gold ring, it is and remains an ugly thing"
(= someone who dresses nicely does not become beautiful himself)!!!
Now safety is not a concern of Hamilton who's complaining about dangerous driving every other race when he's behind
Who’s this
It’s not like he won’t get food for a week..
So the FIA cares about rules now? Since when? Certainly not at Abu Dhabi. The FIA are just the MaFIA.
3 watches? Dude.... I understand his point wearing jewelry is just something that doesn't affect
What’s the reasoning behind drivers not being allowed jewellery? Seems ridiculous, I’m no Lewis fan but I agree with him 100%
I think it's got something to do If they crash and they go for an MRI.
Basically it's in case that a second Grosjean accident happens And the fire stays long enough to heat the jewelry and melt on his body, and to be clear the rule isn't only about jewelry it's also about the fireproof underwear the drivers wear, so they said they want to make sure everyone is wearing them
There are bigger things to worried about in F1.....
Yeah this is a very minor concern
and yet the diva want to make a huge drama out of it.
Why can't he just remove it?
It isnt even that hard.
It's not like he was going to die if he removed it.
The FIA says the following: The presence of jewellery can slow, due to the risk of "snagging", the emergency removal of driver safety equipment such as helmet, balaclava, and overalls." - Lewis you are a "Sir" of all things you should support good law and order even if its not according to your liking. In all aspects of life there are rules and I recon we need to obey them.
They can wear whatever they want in the paddock, but if they go into the vehicles with jewellery on, that's a huge safety concern.
I wasn't allowed to wear armbands or rings at the ER when I had a not so bad injury at work. If something were to happen they CAN'T have rings/armbands that can stop the circulation.
Piercings and underwear seems a bit silly though.
well that rule has been on the regulations for a while now, you should've consider that before choosing thas career dear Lewis.
Buh bah Lewis.
Now we’ll see if the FIA has the cojones to stand up to hammy.
yeah ham is the only turkey wearing jewellery!
So why was this never an issue before...?
He's had jewelry since McLaren...
Why single him out though...
He likes wearing jewelry, why should that phase you personally?
Get a life. Stop paying attention to what a man is wearing. Lewis is living rent free in the head of the haters...
Ok but Lewis has been in few for some time and he should know if it's ok or not ok but what is crossing the line is shoving it up the FIA face I mean seriously you don't need two watched on one wrist and another On another wrist and a lot of golden chains and rings lime that is unacceptable he is setting a bad example for other I really don't get why people like this or him
Everyone has to put up with rules that don't make sense in everyday life. This is not a big deal. Lewis is looking for attention now that he is at the back of the grid behind his teammate.
Lewis needs get over his ego, this isn't racism, it's a sensible rule that should of been enforced years ago. The halo got brought in with no recent incidents to force it, so this should be the same.
Totally agree if it is wearing jewellery during the race then I can understand that but after the race I can wear what i want
@@ejsplays3446 Yeah he can wear whatever he wants....outside of the car. You have to remove it to play most ball sports, you have to remove it for some medical procedures. There's reasons for this. This is just another case of Lewis thinking the rules shouldn't apply to him. No one else on the grid has an issue with this. And if you think a thin metal object implanted in your skin cant cause any issues under the right circumstances then there's probabably not much point going on with your argument. This rule has been there for a long time, many fans complained at the lack of rules being inforced last year....Lewis being the biggest one for obvious reasons. So, the FIA has decided to make sure all rules are now followed. People got what they wished, stop complaining!

One of the watches he was wearing was George’s (he said it in a later interview😂): Mercedes team level of pettines - yes.
They should have enforced this earlier. After years of him wearing his piercings it’s kind of too late to dig up this rule out of the book. We now need a precedent proving piercings are dangerous. If Hamilton wants to be that guy, then let him be.
I mean…if you crash at 180mph through a metal barrier, per se, I imagine you might end up ripping skin with those piercings.
They truly have nothing better to do
new management just correcting the errors of the past, which is part of their job.
No need for precedent, considering no jewelry polices is an already established safety protocol for the sports.
