He has a very nice, honourable dad who did everything in a positiv way to Lewis that he can reach his goals. If u compare to for example Jos Verstappen its much different. Jos educated Max in a very brutal, strict way which also worked out as we know but I think that was not positive most of the time in his Journey. But still both are successfull
Full disclosure, I've been a Christian Horner & RedBull supporter since 2005. It's unfair to compare drivers from different eras. Lewis is the greatest driver of his era and generation. He's an amazing ambassador for the sport & life. What's also amazing is when he talks positively about this generation of drivers, oblivious to that fact that he has influenced them. Very humble. He was never gifted anything and worked hard for his titles. When he made the switch to Mercedes, he did so knowing things could go bad for him. If I had to criticise him, it would be for slacking with his guitar. Not seen him play for sometime!

That's his #1 quality im my opinion. I agree with you. I feel he always remarks on his humble history, unlike others that don't comment on it. But most of those drivers come from $$$$
There are only few, likes of Lance, who don't do that. Every one of these drivers are a combination of great sacrifice and struggles. Some more some less. Lewis is very good at talking about those sacrifices for sure
I agree, I think it's why so many people have such the wrong idea about him. He seems so grateful for the opportunities he's been given and he's just taken those opportunities and made the best of them. He's an amazing driver, but even better is he's a good human being.

One thing I've wondered, though, is whether the drivers wear regular lower underwear (briefs, boxers etc.) or is that part of the underwear specially made from fireproof material (Nomex?) as well.

They have both made their own mistakes, but at the same time they are both undeniably two exceptionally talented drivers. All I ask here is for everyone to stop going at each others throats, and appreciate talent and/or greatness when you see it.
I’ve been watching F1 since I was a kid in the early to mid eighties. You go through periods where one driver and/or one team just totally dominates. Week after week, year after you, you get tired of it and start to root for anyone else to win. This is how I’ve been with Hamilton by the end of their run a couple years ago. After seeing this, I have a whole new respect for him and appreciate his great talent and dedication to Motorsport.
Love the bit about Rossi being the official "neon" representative, it's this level of mutual respect in the motorsport world which makes the competition so great, and Lewis such a great champion. If only his Dad knew back then, that his exquisite helmet painting skills would lead to one of the greatest drivers in the history of motorsport.

Arai is still the "cool kids" helmet except it's mostly to do with motorcycling on the plain streets... cheapest you can get em is like $600 USD (might be cheaper now, haven't checked recently) and many other brands flagships are between $600-800 USD so yeah... pricey stuff.

I feel like since the summer break we have this different lewis, he seems more relaxed and wide eyed. He seems to be opening up more in interviews etc etc its really nice to see him bringing some of his own personality back..... Maybe....just maybe...Hes signed his contract with merc and its the last one. Maybe thats why hes now seeming more relaxed and almost at peace with where he is. Im sure he wont stop until he fights for one more championship BUT its almost like vettel. It felt like when vettel signed for Aston martin he started to wind down, be a but more open with media etc. The trend seems to be heading that way. Lets just see what happens

In my opinion he is levels above Michael. (Multiple reasons why, I can explain them if you want me to, but it would take a while and a very long paragraph.)
One more thing to note, the gloves also have (i think they still have) biometric sensors that measure each driver's vitals during the weekend and in the case of a crash.

Albon was very much hyped about his williams result, Yuki was appreciated for his fight against Norris and Lewis drives incredibly right now, he came back to P6 from last place after Mercedes messed up strategy. The last chase of Sainz and his Soft tire stint before the red flag were incredible and were also very well noticed by the speakers.
This does make you wonder how many of those "random" brake/ engine failures occur because of tear off strips. Its not exactly obvious that all miss the car and Lewis also showed a lot of concern.

Lewis is doing one of the best F1 seasons of his career in 2023, but people don't realize because he is not fighting for a WC.
@danifloz: that's the same situation with every driver. They're all good but not noticed enough of their hard work and talent because they don't have the best car. Lewis enjoyed 8 years of luck in a dominant car and he had his share.
@@TruthPrevail777 thats not true, great efforts in a weaker car is always noticed and appreciated. Albon was very much hyped about his williams result, Yuki was appreciated for his fight against Norris and Lewis drives incredibly right now, he came back to P6 from last place after Mercedes messed up strategy. The last chase of Sainz and his Soft tire stint before the red flag were incredible and were also very well noticed by the speakers.

This does make you wonder how many of those "random" brake/ engine failures occur because of tear off strips. Its not exactly obvious that all miss the car and Lewis also showed a lot of concern.
I'm still shocked that they don't require the drivers to tuck them into a pocket in the cockpit or something.
