Sir you dropped this 👑. Over my 2 month ownership of a mk1 tt you have helped me for over 3 months. Thank you for everything and i will be back for some more videos.
I almost went to take my door panel off to adjust the glass upwards, and I’m glad i found this video before I did that! Thanks for the help, I had no idea the window was adjustable externally until now.
My guy. This is perfect. My 180 is absolutely pissing water in and I think it's coming through the window. Gonna check it out and see if it needs adjusting thanks man
Awesome video. Was noticing a bit of wind noise and some small droplets of water coming in during washing, and looks like this should solve my problems. Thanks!
Cheers. Had my car a few months and you've helped on a few things. I get some wind noise in my car so I'm going to look at this tomorrow as well as doing the micro switch in the driver's door.
Wow!!!! This is going to save my roadster letting rain in I’m 100% sure!! I was looking at seals and roofs etc etc, nervous about this man servicing my car in case he spots all sorts of issues lol lol TOP VIDEO!!
Watched the video 4 times, took me 2 mins to do the job BRING ON THE RAIN lol, let me know once that lift is in and we will arrange a date for the work to be done Thanks again for the vids, keep them coming
That is awesome. I only read about adjusting the window, but reading plain text doesn't help with figuring out what exactly you have to do. Your videos help a lot.
Great video, this was useful. I also would like to see a video how to adjust the door itself. It's a common problem on these cars that driver door is not hanging horizontal.
If i turn that bolts anti clockwise until they can't go no more, I still have some gap compared to the passengers side. Please help since this is really annoying at the highway with high speeds
I have this problem on the driver's side (right side), is it a common problem on the right hand side on the TTs? Will try the fix, thank you so much ☺️
Great clip. I never knew about these bolts, I have always taken the door card off and adjust the mounting bolt for the glass as it was lose. Why is it always the passenger door that plays up, it should get less abuse. Thanks for the help.
The clearest, easiest video of this I've seen. Thank you 🙏 One question, though: I have ~5mm dropped window. Is that likely to be too much of a gap for this method?
@bws tt - Tha ks man, tried that, it's still about 5mm off the top. Do you think that kind of gap will be too much for the bottom bolt adjustments? Many thanks
Hi, great video. Mine needs to be adjusted sideways towards the rear the car. Does this mean adjusting one end clockwise and the other end anticlockwise? Cheers in advanced for your help. 👍
Hi - great video - what about the 8J mk2 model TT though? the doors are totally different, and dont feature those three adjuster screws at the base of the door. do you have a video to cover the mk2 ?? thanks again for the great vids and tips. Grant
Very useful, have you ever created a video on height adjustment to the front seats as mine appear to be seized via the gas struts or am missing something?
wow its so easy when you put it on video i was looking for products to make the rubber fatter ,yeah don't laugh ,even got a rain cover ,thanks will be on the ground tomorrow ratchet in hand cheers
I get droplets on the passenger side window, on the front side when it’s pouring down. I was wondering whether there is a way to tilt the window inwards. It looks like the window is flush with the frame, but for all I know, if it comes down to millimeters, I may be wrong and maybe I should try moving it up a bit. Mine is the roadster, and maybe I should just add a spacer on the top silicon housing which is on top of the window. There are 3 nuts which seem to hold each silicon part in place.
vou need to take of door panel and under the panel you have an some kind adjustable washer dorr glass with which you set how much the window swings inward or outward. The glass has two guides and each guide has its own adjustable washer - front and back
Really helpful especially the 1mm per revolution calibration idea. Mine is a roadster and the front fixed quarter light is away from the body possibly from a breaking in attempt. Is there an in/out adjustment ? I noticed the bottom bolts are in slots so assume so but don’t want to f*** it up so I thought I’d check with the guru first 👌
@@BWSTT yes I understand the top ones shift the whole arrangement side to side ie bow to stern but is there a way to adjust it in and out or is that bit fixed and I need a new mechanism if it’s been bent ? It’s only a mm or so but leaks so trying to stop that
@@stephenrobinson1007 oh i get you now, there are shims where the glass bolts to the assembly, varying these can alter that, or the frame is bent and needs bending back
Buddy hellppppppppppppp!! Firstly great informative vid secondly I have a mk2 tt and my passenger window is actually too high when closed so then catches when opening its only a couple of mil but was wondering can I adjust in the same way you have??? Thanks in advance buddy 🙏
Great video will give this a go on mine when I get a chance. One of my windows doesn’t drop when you open the door, I took the card off and the locking mechanism out and it looks like the micro switch is knackered is there a switch that can be swapped out for it?
Thanks for posting these videos, they are very helpful and much appreciated. I did the adjustment and the wind noise has reduced but my widow drop is doing something odd. It works fine when I am exiting the car but doesn’t work with the exterior door handle, is there a step I’ve missed?i if I get back in the car the interior handle also then does do the drip but does after I do your reset process.
Hey BWS, really cool your channel and your content. Is neccesary for this adjusment the up and down of the windows when u open the door? That function went away from my windows time ago so i dont know if is gonna work as well as it did for you TT. Thanks for your content and a big hug from me, Je keep going!!
Great video m8. I had been trying to do this and thought I had to take the inner door card off. My passenger window is able to push out from the inside at the rear side of the window and it won't go all the way up without a fight. It goes back down at 1/2 way every time so I think it must be getting stuck somewhere it sticks so it thinks it hit something and drops.
I just had a new regulator fitted and having this exact problem with my 2012 A5! Would you say its a risky job in terms of any danger of damaging the glass etc? The garage who did it have been useless so i'm not taking it back there, but debating popping it somewhere or having a go myself!
So my door shuts and latches but not completely flush with body and widow is same as described in video should I adjust internal window frame and door or just this will solve both saggy door and window leak
Thanks for the great tutorial, however I have a small problem. Maybe someone can belp? After I loosen all the bolts, the 13mm on top and 16 mm on the bottom, I cannot move the T30 bolts on the bottom. At all... I actually broke the T30. Cracked like a toothpick. Sprayed WD40 all over it. Left it overnight. Still won’t budge. Any ideas?
No once they're cracked off its internal frame and a fixed washer (for want of a better description) that holds the bolt in place, the rest just moves up and down the thread depending which way you turn, the nut it simply there to stop it turning once it's at the correct height
Thanks for the support guys, looks like this one has been really useful for a lot of you! Feel free to reply to this comment with what you want to see me tackle next, I want to make sure it's all relevant and useful for you! Oh and if you haven't already, hit subscribe 😁
I have 2 2000 tts one of them has the directional signals stay on when the lights are on, the other one does not there must be a way to program them to stay on??
I know that you have done video on catch can already, I would like to buy Billy's kit and I would like you to show me / tell me what else to buy to preserve the break boost on BAM and how to connect it, instead of just blanking it. That way I will be able to buy that Billy's kit plus the other parts I need and do it at once and properly. :-D
You can also test with an A4 sheet of paper, fit it between the window and seal of the "good" door, pull the paper and compare in various spots. And a big Warning, you can seriously mess up the alignment if you don't know what you're doing

Brilliant, that will now stop water coming in when i jet wash.
Same bro so annoying
just stumbled across this video with the same problem on my car. cant wait to fix it now tomorrow morning. Thank you and i have subscribed .
Glad I can be helpful
Thanks for showing this , did my drivers side door today , now perfect .
That is awesome. I only read about adjusting the window, but reading plain text doesn't help with figuring out what exactly you have to do. Your videos help a lot.
awesome video my guy! if it wasn't for the window being adjustable, i don't know how it would ever get so badly out of whack in the first place! lol
I love the speed up edit at 6:00.
Not seen that like that on RUclips. 🤜🏼🤛🏼😎
really informative and really well explained, I have learnt loads from watching your channel mate. Thank you
Bryn this is an awesome video just what i needed and will be doing mine tomorrow now.
Great video, this was useful. I also would like to see a video how to adjust the door itself. It's a common problem on these cars that driver door is not hanging horizontal.
Same request!
Such a cool design ha!!!
You are the man!
Thanks heaps for helping keep these Mk1 TT’s on the road.
Love my TT.

love this no nonsense clear guide doing this tommorow thank you

Awesome vid mate, my 3.2 TT is driving me mad with this at 70mph 😂
Thank you Bryn, great information, will have to do my drivers ones. Take care.
Awesome thanks for the info on this annoying problem.
Legendary vid dude just what I needed. Cheers

Fabulous, very much appreciated. That is twice you have helped me now.👍
Thanks. Super useful.
What a life saver
The clearest, easiest video of this I've seen. Thank you 🙏 One question, though: I have ~5mm dropped window. Is that likely to be too much of a gap for this method?
Try my window position reset video first. See how its sitting in relation to the top part of the frame aswell
@bws tt - Tha ks man, tried that, it's still about 5mm off the top. Do you think that kind of gap will be too much for the bottom bolt adjustments? Many thanks

Ill try and do a mk2 video soon
Great maintenance resource, thank you. Subscribed. keep up the great work 👍😀
Nice one!
Any tips on getting the stupid door rubber back on that covers the bolt on the side of the door?
White grease does the trick. Get it on the metal first, then the door card
Very useful, have you ever created a video on height adjustment to the front seats as mine appear to be seized via the gas struts or am missing something?

That should never need adjusting from factory setup.

Is there an in/out adjustment ? I noticed the bottom bolts are in slots so assume so but don’t want to f*** it up so I thought I’d check with the guru first 👌
The top ones at each end that are undone to allow up down movement are used to adjust back to front in the same was as the bottom ones adjust up down
@@BWSTT yes I understand the top ones shift the whole arrangement side to side ie bow to stern but is there a way to adjust it in and out or is that bit fixed and I need a new mechanism if it’s been bent ? It’s only a mm or so but leaks so trying to stop that

Do you ever work on the Mk2. TDI. Only asking cause I might have one. Lol

Have a look through my recent videos, there's one for changing the door microswitch to resolve that issue

Hi, I saw you have data on how to repair a car, can you share something?

Is this the same procedure for mk2? I have the same problem with high speed wind noise and water getting in when go to drive through car wash
Brilliant 👍
Hey, thank you so much for this video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Can the A5 two-door model also be adjusted in this way?
I just had a new regulator fitted and having this exact problem with my 2012 A5! Would you say its a risky job in terms of any danger of damaging the glass etc? The garage who did it have been useless so i'm not taking it back there, but debating popping it somewhere or having a go myself!
Can this be done, on Audi A5? ♥️
Cheers and thank you
No idea sorry
So my door shuts and latches but not completely flush with body and widow is same as described in video should I adjust internal window frame and door or just this will solve both saggy door and window leak
Is this the same on an a5 coupe with non original part regulator
Great video as always, hows the track car coming on & what did you end up doing with the convertible tt in the end 👍
Track car is slowly getting there. Convertible is still sat on my driveway waiting for me to find the brake issue
Brilliant as ever😉
Btw I fixed my door trims yesterday where it pulls away at top I used door trim protection with metal reinforced it's fantastic .
You got a link for these please?
Thanks for the great tutorial, however I have a small problem. Maybe someone can belp?

Does this work if the ccm is broke
Still the same on the mk2?
Are the nuts meant to be held still whilst you turn the torx?
No once they're cracked off its internal frame and a fixed washer (for want of a better description) that holds the bolt in place, the rest just moves up and down the thread depending which way you turn, the nut it simply there to stop it turning once it's at the correct height

Hi. Does the same apply to the mk2 TT V6.
No it doesn't.. :(
👌👍

And a big Warning, you can seriously mess up the alignment if you don't know what you're doing
My glass is still not moving after doing this😭 what am I doing wrong
Is this the same for the mk2 ??
No it is not :(
Hi I've messaged on your facebook page about getting a turbo replaced appreciate if you could reply thanks
Dammit it doesn't work on my mk2 :[
Why?
