      My only problem w EW here was that his explanations were way too complicated. He didn't need to go into logarithms and such to explain why 1x1=1. I majored in math (years ago) and even I had trouble following that.
      He missed a lot of opportunities, too. He should have pressed him more on the "it's just a metaphor" bit he's saying now. Like, so you're completely backing off on it now? You don't believe that any more? That's funny because you wrote an entire f***ing book on it, and it seems like it was at the core of all your theories.
      I also wish he had called TH out when he started to talk about the Dewey Decimal System, lol. Like, Terrence, what do you mean when you say that term? No, it's a method of organizing books in a library. So you see, when you make such fundamental mistakes like that, it makes people not take anything else you say seriously. Etc.

    • @citizen-erased
      @citizen-erased 25 дней назад +7

      @@wrc1210 I feel he did that on purpose. He knew straight away that if he pressed hard, he would fold pretty quickly. This is also why he didn't let Terrence go down his rabbit holes of ideas and tried to keep him on some sort of track that he could work with. It wasn't an easy task by any means.
      I didn't mind the logarithmic route, I even learned something there. Definitely something I forgot from undergrad.

      So Eric IS SORT OF in the same camp. The difference between Terrence and Eric is that Eric actually has an education and understands A LOT in mathematics. The problem is Eric has gone down a weird path with his own "theory of everything".
      Eric is genuinely upset with the scientific community for them not taking him seriously when he was unable to provide any derivations or proofs for how his unifying theory worked. (He....lost them? If you had the solution to the theory of everything I don't understand how you'd lose anything in regards to it. lol)

    I've been arguing with friends that Joe is playing the part of the stoner in the corner of the room. He lets his guests rant away, go off on tangents and receive enough rope to hang themselves. Too many people think that his podcasts reflect his thinking and react negatively when, in fact he's just chasing ratings.
    As for Eric Weinstein, you're spot on. The IDW members have proved themselves to be pretentious, unserious types that are willing to throw away their previous positions when advantageous - Peterson embracing religion, Shapiro shutting down free speech in favour of Israel and Harris staying that he doesn't care about Biden's capacity as long as Trump loses. The IDW is full of charlatans.

      @@Miloshx07 He's fine. He maybe wrong or incorrect or even come across arrogant at times but to label him "not well" is a stretch.

    I'm not even a scientist. I'm a simple engineer who read a book or two and I couldn't for the life of me understand what Terrance is talking about. I couldn't understand why everyone was calling this guy soooo smart.

    Thought I might chime and and hopefully clear some things up regarding Eric. I’m Bret W’s nephew so I know a lot about our family’s history. When I was younger Eric was serving on the faculty of Evergreen State College from 2002 until 2017, when he resigned in the aftermath of a series of campus protests about racial equity at Evergreen, which brought Weinstein to national attention.
    Eric is not and has never been a mathematician. He will be the first to tell you that. Like his Brother “my uncle” he is considered part of the intellectual dark web. Weinstein has been criticized for making false statements about COVID-19 treatments and vaccines, and for spreading misinformation about HIV/AIDS.
    Big pharma is controlling the whole narrative including what he is limited to talk about regarding Terrance’s research. Terrance in reality is correct but his terminology is wrong. Eric has a dark past and has told us all these story’s about sex magic and it all makes sense now. Feel free to ask me about all this I can go into more detail.
