Thank you! excellent video. A quick request. When the designers show the layout like at 1:49 would you please ask your designers to add the dimensions? It gives a good perspective on the sizes of the rooms
absolutely love these videos! this house I did not like at all. :( Sterile, hard surfaces, no place of comfort. Certain design ideas were smart as concepts, but not aesthetically. as ALWAYS beautifully filmed and edited. I look forward to the next one. :) TFS
Aesop is an Australian skincare brand and considering that most Never Too Small videos feature builts in Australia, it's quite common to see Aesop in the bathroom and kitchen quarters 😊
I wanted to like this going in, but I feel there is too much that wasn't well thought out. That kitchen has practically no counter space at all! Maybe for just a couple that would be alright, but even then there's no where to make a decent meal. Then there's the dining table and bench combo. It's such a waste of space, because you can't actually have more than like 3 people comfortably sitting at that table. Whats the rest of the bench for? An entryway seat to take your shoes on and off? In the middle of the apartment? Then there's the storage over the bed in the main bedroom. Seriously how are you supposed to get to that stuff safely or conveniently? I would understand if that was from before the remodel, but it's ridiculous that was their choice when remodeling. I could honestly go on for quite a while, but overall I feel everything boils down to bad design. This place is purely focused on a e s t h e t i c - being minimalist and pretty. By only focusing on that they've created a horribly thought out apartment that would quickly get frustrating to actually live in.
Agreed. No countertop space. Also, zero space for a pantry. Obviously, a family of four that does not cook, or eat together (no space to sit four in the dining couch), does not watch movies together (no TV or space for a projector?)...
What really baffles me about the kitchen is the placement of the fridge relative to the rest of the kitchen. There's something so irritating about the idea of having to go around the corner to get things from the fridge then back again. It's so inefficient.

To see the qualities of these buildings embraced and reinterpreted today is such a revelation. Could I live there now ?.... Yes.
i liked the curtain idea to hide the kitchen and to create privacy in the entry for study. Sure, I agree the curtain doesn't look substantial enough and sad colour (to match the brick wall's depressing colour) but the curtain concept is great.

Great use of space! However, everything looks to be very uncomfortable and it gives off hospital vibes to me. Or even hostel/airB&B. To be fair, if I were to stay in an airB&B like this for a limited amount of time, I wouldn't be complaining.
That has got to be the ugliest exposed brick wall I have ever seen. Also, how dark was that office when the curtain was drawn? Would rather work with the natural light than curtain drawn and have to use a ton of artificial
Love the design and color scheme of this place, but I’ll never understand how people voluntary make a kitchen counter that small. How could you prepare meals for a family on that?
I was talking to my hubby about that very thing! They could have substituted the 60's round table for a longer table to mimic the dimensions of the kitchen bench. Make the table with lockable wheels, so it could be pulled over to the kitchen for use as a kitchen prep counter/island. Honestly, if you live this tiny, then multi-use furniture is a must.
Yes, and in particular to shrink a kitchen this much when you’ve got two comparatively roomy bedrooms, I find odd. I’d shrink my bedroom to mattress plus 6” in order to get a kitchen with enough counter space-especially if I had kids. PS I do quite like the screening over the lower section of windows, for all the reasons stated in the video.

Yes i agree. The study area for example is just an empty desk with no regular study items (no place to keep books, pens etc) and the most uncomfortable chair to sit on for hours while studying... idk maybe they just cleaned too much before tv showing
Yeah, and the vibe that I unfortunately took from this is that there didn’t seem to be a lot of “customization” per se for the children. I highly doubt that a child would want a clean, white bedroom with no decor except for a plant. It gives me that bad vibe that maybe this is the parents’ choice and not the kids
@ebony b It isn't a chair, it is just a stool, no one could do work sitting on that for any length of time. No one has an "armchair", as you suggest, for use with a desk. They could have a normal desk chair that slides in with the seat under the desk, just like most people have - it wouldn't take up any more walking space.
Finally, people who use the term "midcentury" for something that really is midcentury. I'm not a fan of either bed - to me a bed jammed against a wall where one of you has to crawl in/out just says "dorm room" - but that's just personal preference. A lovely space.

Okayyyy this is the prettiest apartment I have watched in this channel! It's aesthetic yet livable and functional. Not to mention the softness and ambiance this whole setup, design, and color palette gives! I'm in love!
The bedroom with the unique windows looks great! The kitchen is small and practical, but I don't understand why the refrigerator isn't facing into the kitchen. The bathroom also looks a bit small, I guess there wasn't space near the kitchen for the washing machine.
definitely one of the best channels i've ever been subscribed to. the shots are so clean and relaxing - and to hear about the design process/idea behind it is such a unique thing, thanks for sharing that. It always leads to inspiration. the only thing about this project that i would not be okay with is the bench in the opposite of the kitchen it looks a bit lost, but that's just personal preference. keep up the good content! never clicking so fast on new videos ;)
I agree and thank you for pointing it out - about the thought process which leads to inspiration. But I disagree with the dining bench, I think that was to give continuity with the sofa against the brick wall.
4morochasy1rubia yeah that’s what it looked like- they need better paint! It looked like when you get water on a cheaper piece of ikea furniture and the paint chips off 😬
Unpopular opinion: I love everything about this apartment! I understand why most people in the comments don't like the clinical and non-lively appearance but I absolutely adore exactly that! And I just like the minimalist aesthetic with all those carefully handpicked design elements. All those light earthy tone go so well with each other. A dream
I feel like this appartment "renovation" wasn't well thought out. There's a LOT of space dedicated to this "studio/office" area, the couch and living room area is also far too big. But then, the areas that actually need to be prioritized like the kitchen and the only bathroom that also doubles as a laundry area for an appartment that, according to them, is supposed to house children, are crammed into like 2 or 4 sqm, at most. No wonder they had to move out of there and rent this place as an AirB&B (according to the comment section). This space is unlivable in the long term. I wish people stopped focusing so much on "aesthetic" and more on livability and actual usefullness of a space.
I absolutely love this apartment and the design process behind it! And the couple is so cute together! Only the TV is weirdly positioned in the living room (at least, I guess that’s the TV). And considering that there are apparently small children (or maybe still in the making), I’m getting anxious even just looking at the sharp corners of some of the DIY furniture, like the sofa’s armrest.
I love small spaces although how livable and cost effective it would be is another, though I love the concept of maximizing space utilization and it gives me all kinds of ideas for when I move out and settle my own family after school
This video if not my favorite, is in the top 3 of the apartments I've seen on this channel! I absolutely love it. It checks pretty much all of my boxes. Really inspired by this. Especially with how they used the diagonal lines and the brick wall to enhance the space. Also, all the furniture from the same/similar materials was amazing.
Love the interior of the flat. Knobs captured my attention so I've decided to buy something like that to my kitchen just to refresh and simplify the view. Thanks for the story.
@@morphix007 well it's an aesthetic ad that's done well. How do you think this channel is able to continuously provide these amazing videos for free? While they have sponsors, they need support from fans, too. I wouldn't have even known that they sell merchandise without these intros.
5 stars for keeping the original wall and glass divider. This space had so much more potential. It made me feel so sad but then again minimalism generally does that for me.
Is it me or 80% of these apartments always look so sterile and lifeless? I can only count a few that had amazing design where people could actually live in, the rest are like hospital or dentist offices.
Exposed edge of the black perforated screen between the washer and the dunny in the bathroom is an accident waiting to happen. It would be bent out of shape on impact or at the least catch on the clothing.
I like it a lot. It flows naturally and makes good use of the natural light. I thought the way the TV was concealed was an especially clever touch, hidden behind highly reflective glass.
I loved those old 60's apartments with the brick or stone interior walls. The kitchen re-do on this one is great for a take life style or making sandwiches or cereal for breakfast but I would be a screaming maniac in less than a week if the family was hoping for a meal at anytime... Also, the bed. Why build a platform and rig it so it juts our for someone to whack their shin at least twice a week or more on it? It was a lovely redesign so long as one didn't try to imagine living in it for more than a week. With children? OMG!
That green brick wall with brass fixtures is just a statement piece in itself. And they have kids too 🤯 living this minimalist space. It’s look great for a bachelor or a couple, but for a family - that is something I didn’t expect!
Beautiful clean video as always. About the apartment, I just don't understand the obsession with plywood everywhere, it can look good in some cases, but a lot of times it just looks cheap and wobbly like it was put together by an amateur.
I think the kid's room could've been a little better thought out and organized (is that a shaving station?) but otherwise a really simple simple design!
I'm torn apart. I really like some elements like the bed and th storage in the second bedroom but this little mirror looks compltely ugly. I'm also like: You put the TV somewhere where no one would even look at it? I feel like the orientation of somethings are completely messed up in this apartment.
Stumbled on this video and I love it. I particularly love the use of plywood and it all seems so practical and seemingly easy to replicate! Nothing IMO seems complicated. Thank you for the inspiration.
It is impossible for a family to live in this space : no room for clothes, for toys, for kitchen stuff or food. It for sure looks beautiful but lire à hôtel room where you get into the space with your suitcase
I loved how they kept a lot of the charms of the original apartment but for some reason it doesn't feel intimate and it doesn't feel very welcoming. IDK why but I just don't feel connected to the apartment to the extent of being able to live in it for years. 🤷♀🤔🤔

Thoughtfully planned and executed. I especially liked the clever use of the curtains to softly and temporarily screen the kitchen and office.
The bedroom with the unique windows looks great! The kitchen is small and practical, but I don't understand why the refrigerator isn't facing into the kitchen. The bathroom also looks a bit small, I guess there wasn't space near the kitchen for the washing machine.
It may be to do with the measurements of the fridge.
The design idea of this project is undeniably unique and fantastic. Surely I will apply this to my future design videos! Thank you never too small!
definitely one of the best channels i've ever been subscribed to.
the shots are so clean and relaxing - and to hear about the design process/idea behind it is such a unique thing, thanks for sharing that.
Two bedroom-apartment in a well-designed 40sqm space, this is brilliant!
The kitchen/dining room floor was just bugging me the whole time
Kit Kat did they ever address wtf that was on the floor? Not sure if I missed it, but it bothered the hell out of me too.
@@Solfire the floor was painted white and the paint chip off on the more transited areas
Solfire I don’t think they mentioned it
4morochasy1rubia yeah that’s what it looked like- they need better paint!
It looked like when you get water on a cheaper piece of ikea furniture and the paint chips off 😬
also that carpet was nasty in the living area
Why do you care so much to leave a rude comment? No one is making you live there. 🙄
I like how this looks so expensive yet each and every detail it’s just very well thought out, especially when it comes to the materials used in it!
I have to say how impressed I am with the complete transformation that looks to be done in a smart, cost efficient way
I love small spaces although how livable and cost effective it would be is another, though I love the concept of maximizing space utilization and it gives me all kinds of ideas for when I move out and settle my own family after school
That-s an amazing house! I really like it Good Job Guys!!!
Love the interior of the flat.
Knobs captured my attention so I've decided to buy something like that to my kitchen just to refresh and simplify the view.
Thanks for the story.
Please bring back the clean and minimal 3-second intro. This one was 30 seconds, it is just too much for this format.
"never too small" is definitely a maxim for the video design too!
I like them! It displays the art for their merchandise well. I loved the look of this one and am considering buying something with the design on it.
pls keep the intro!
tricked you into watching a ad
@@morphix007 well it's an aesthetic ad that's done well. How do you think this channel is able to continuously provide these amazing videos for free? While they have sponsors, they need support from fans, too. I wouldn't have even known that they sell merchandise without these intros.
5 stars for keeping the original wall and glass divider. This space had so much more potential. It made me feel so sad but then again minimalism generally does that for me.
Is it me or 80% of these apartments always look so sterile and lifeless? I can only count a few that had amazing design where people could actually live in, the rest are like hospital or dentist offices.
No books!
No one's home is that tidy. I think they pile everything away in the storage boxes before they allow a photo shoot.
Yeah…never anything in the fridge!
tell me then: why are you watching?
Probably those only one of their vacation place, that's why its look so empty because all of their belongings are on their luggage.
Beautiful space, great work NVTS team!
It looks like it was their apartment and now either rented OR an Airbnb? Very cool design.
another great video ! and what a couple architect & designer
Cold and uncomfortable.
Fantastic layout, the glaced and slanted wall allows for light, for a study at the hall and even the couch; 40 sqm at its full capacity
I’m confused, where do the children sleep? Neither of those bedrooms look fit for a child, perhaps it’s just the way they’ve styled it?
They seem to sleep and play in the former kitchen room that can be closed.
This is such a great use of space. Moving the kitchen is inspired.
Beautiful clean video as always. About the apartment, I just don't understand the obsession with plywood everywhere, it can look good in some cases, but a lot of times it just looks cheap and wobbly like it was put together by an amateur.
I miss you guys, I have to admit it. And I love Australian apartments, abundance of light 💚💚💚
I think the kid's room could've been a little better thought out and organized (is that a shaving station?) but otherwise a really simple simple design!
LOL "shaving station"! Totally.
@@pilarmitchell7879 I soo don't like that thing being placed there like that lol!
And that low hanging pendant light above the bed looks like an accident waiting to happen
Lovely! Getting great ideas from their use of perforated steel, curtains, and a storage platform for the bed
"40sqm Small apartment" "Oh a normal apartment then?" says everyone living in a big city.
One of the best I’ve seen. Got so much inspiration. Thank you!
First time there was actually a property I didn't like. It seems designed for looks, not for living.
I LOVE the way these videos are edited. So simple yet detailed and pleasant on the eyes!
I have the feeling that people shot these videos shortly after moving in. I wish that the apartments look more lively. However lovely apartment :)
Super cool space. This couple looks like
brother and sister.
I missed your videos!
Very interesting, the way they seek that it does not have visual distractions is striking, relating lighting, materials and functionality
There's nothing but a water in the fridge, not even a tube of mustard.
It's great to see you guys and gals back at it! I love your videos!
It is impossible for a family to live in this space : no room for clothes, for toys, for kitchen stuff or food. It for sure looks beautiful but lire à hôtel room where you get into the space with your suitcase
I love the storage units in the bathroom and how they conceal the washing machine. The colour of the brick wall is very nice too.
Doesn't look comfortable nor entertaining with the layout like that.
Not at all !!!
the green brick wall // warm couch and the wood. and the place looks like its always sunny. i love the colors
the kitchen -> bedroom does take so much light away from the study though
I loved how they kept a lot of the charms of the original apartment but for some reason it doesn't feel intimate and it doesn't feel very welcoming. IDK why but I just don't feel connected to the apartment to the extent of being able to live in it for years. 🤷♀🤔🤔
Love it. It's very calming. The kitchen is perfect.
