I want 'Blood Omen' to be remastered and released. As soon as I saw this remaster come into my Microsoft Store account, well, I immediately Pre-Ordered Soul Reaver. Now I want Blood Omen from the 90's on PS1. The 1st original story opener. I could never get past the mountains, only 1 hour into the PS1 version. I have the Original Soul Reaver 1 & 2 on my PS2, unwrapped and in the original Sony Entertainment seal.
They have a PC version of Blood Omen on GOG that you can easily apply a fan patch to that basically gives the game 60 fps and higher resolution support. Basically the type of stuff you'd see in a barebones remaster.
I do hope they bring back the french voice over, coz yeah like you said it was top tier. The voice for Kain is the official french voice actor for Morgan Freeman (Benoit Allemane)
There are two groups I want to get hands on this game: 1) Modders who hopefully will find a way to integrate the lost areas into the map. 2) Speedrunners and glitch hunters.
I saw a trailer of this game that was on my copy of Gex 3 and I was immediately mesmerized by how eerie and creep that game looked. I live in Brazil, and it was difficult to find this game, and then, one day, I finally found it! I loved it, even though I couldn not understand all the dialogs and what was REALLY going on, but, OMG, how I was disappointed by the ending... I finished this game with a sense of emptiness. I don't know if that was the point of the developers, but I wish we had more content and areas in this game (I know about the cut smoke stack level). I'm not sure if I'll purchase this
the italian dub of soul reaver was beyond legendary, sadly they had to switch around the actors for defiance but the cast for SR1 and 2 was just incredible
DEI or not, I have little faith that any writer who would take up this series, could hold a candle to what Amy Hennig turned this franchise into. She took a mess of a story and turned it into a Shakespearean masterpiece!

Also agreed though that I doubt any writer could hold a candle to what Denis or Amy did. I’m scared for the comic and the table top stuff honestly. @ just seen a lot of videos over the many years about the SR1 being a little mess until she got it in order and the Anti-collaboration between the two teams making Soul Reacer 2 and Blood Omen 2 simultaneously.
Now we are talking about multi language support... The original Spanish dub for SR1 was peak. But in SR2 they went with a different cast for some reason. And then Defiance, ANOTHER cast. I wish they could bring the SR1 cast to all games.
@@jufialio6287 But the audio is english so you (and I) that can understand english can understand just fine. Most people here don't even read english, let alone understand it spoken. First Soul Reaver was even dubbed in PT-BR, but that will never happen in this version, so all we ask is for subs.
I played in PS1, i never had contact with the dub version. And i suffered to understand, but with same subtitles even in English it will get more people. I hope that they put subtitles in portuguese, for me it's enough, if dub is expansive, they can put sub, i do not ask for dub, but i understand that will better if is possible to put it. Unfortunally because our tributes and politics, a lot companies don't like to remember us even with millions of players that love it.

Granted, this was THE game that got me interested in learning English at 8 years old in the first place. Kinda of a blessing in disguise.

I actually bought Blood Omen 1 from the Playstation store as a digital download to play on my PS4. To my shock it actually has the load time....HOW!!!??? It's not on a CD, how can there be load times?

Gender is a moot conversation about LOK to begin with, because the series works with so few characters, none of which really need this. I don't think anything woke was included in the remasters and a quick googling reveals all the complaints are literal baby-level infantile bullshit, mostly about some unimportant statues and stuff like that. That said, thinking that gender stuff didn't exist in earlier periods is a straight-up, no-retort fallacy. I don't think this means that it should be included as is in modern times, in a fantasy video game, but the argument is still flawed and just comes from being uninformed about history. Also, I wouldn't call LOK medieval to begin with, too many incongruent points.
I'm guessing that the "new areas with renders based on concept art" will be Turel's Smokestacks. i dunno if they will add anything special to it or will it just be an explorable area, there was cut content of the incomplete area left in game files.

@Calypso694 There are plenty of wonderful games that lead on including more traditionally excluded people though, without detracting from their quality or overtaking their own writing. The problem with the industry is our system of overpaid/unnecessary execs, and underpaid/overworked developers with too little creative control. Many of those execs are a big reason why so many have been excluded too; just look at the mass sexual harrassment issues at Ubisoft. Yes there're games that might come with a message you don't like but in the old days we just recognized they weren't always made for us. Imagine if Amy Hennig was hazed and demeaned out of the office as a woman. Suppose she was secretly trans, and someone outed her for speaking up, leading to her firing. Can you imagine how much of a worse writer the series may have gotten?
