If your game accidentally closes, it saves the stuff you got from previously running. On your screen when you auto run, it says that if you press any key, it will reset the timer back to 18 minutes before being logged off

you know doing auto run is good when you are doing daily challenges that way you can collect all the Chaos Orbs or Rings in an instant leaving you with just the having to do the time trials, Collect the hoops and buying eggs!
