Hannah, you said it “Doing battle, the Lord‘s way”. I have a great number of friends and family who have good intentions and good hearts who are trying to battle the evil and the perceived unfairness of the world through culture war but as you said here, this battle will only be won by doing it in the Lord’s way. I testify to what you have said in terms of being under condemnation for not undergoing a serious study and appreciation of the book of Mormon since I have repented of this behavior, the Lord has revealed simple and profound truths to me and has removed so many obstacles in my life and granted his peace as only he can do for those who strive to humbly obey the Lord. He is indeed good and wants to bless us. Thanks again for an another awesome message.

This is a great perspective. I like how this video & th others on this channel always relate the reading to Joseph Smith. This brings the reading to life.

Thanks Hannah! Studying those same verses from Mosiah a few months ago really gave me a profound understanding and respect for the gift of a seer. The way it’s presented and worded in the BofM left no room for anyone seeking to better understand JS and the gift to doubt or criticize. These details are not spelled out in the Bible. Layering this understanding on top of what we know about the Bible’s many translations really gave me a new perspective on inspired translators vs. a seer.

Hannah if we take counsel from your lesson we will see miracles and i want to try my best there are so many reasons the book of mormon is the word of God and Joseph Smith is a prophet

Wonderful lesson as always. I wonder if the stone in the hat got started because the Prophet Joseph might have used it when he did the JST since he had no texts to use?

Read Jonathan Neville’s and James Lucus Book "By Means of the Urim and Thummim." He explains origins the Stone in Hat theory and completely debunks it.

Officially, the Come Follow Me schedule was designed so that families and individuals would read the assigned chapters the week before it was officially discussed on Sunday. In other words, members would be prepared to dive into reading. Mosiah 7-10 on May 6. Our schedule releases the podcast and lesson plan on the Wednesday before that "week" officially begins (e.g. May 1 for Mosiah 7-10) in case teachers are preparing lessons, parents are preparing activities or purchasing supplies for the next week in advance, etc. We decided to pre-release our podcast to make sure everyone has the material regardless of how they choose to study this year!

D&C mentions "Urim and Thummim" 11 times--6 times in the headers and 5 times in the verses.

From the perspective of a never-been-Mormon... your faith and devotion to God is beautiful, but I'm at a loss to ever see an ancient document in the Book of Mormon. It looks so 19th century to my eyes!
I've read a number of 19th century LDS books and they are full of miracle stories, so it's easy to think God wanted the church to grow.
My logical conclusion would be that God doesn't even slightly care if a person's scripture books happen to be fiction or not. It's what's in the heart which counts.
But, my most honest statement would be that I really don't know.

Thank you for posting this. What makes the Book of Mormon critical for me is the testimony of Jesus Christ contained in its pages. Being a record of an ancient people, you can track the progress and the downfall when they chose to follow the teachings of God and when they didn’t. When their hearts desired to make covenants with Him, they thrived and there was peace. It also speaks to those who were persecuted because of their faith and how they were blessed with miracles, strength and sometimes deliverance in their trials. I can promise to you, the words in the Book of Mormon will teach you the importance of gaining a fervent and close relationship with God and His son Jesus Christ. Open your heart. ❤️
