- We've hit an exciting milestone in this series! We're beginning the portion of Mormon's actual abridgment in the Book of Mormon.
Are you ready? Let's start by coming to know this incredible prophet, historian, and king!
Mormon is one of the greatest prophets, kings, and historians to live in the history of our earth. An inspirational hero from his youth, he was trusted with the hidden location of the Nephite record at only 10 years old, was visited by Jesus Christ at 15, and that same year was given command over the entire Nephite army.
Mormon's lineage and name reveal he had a sacred bloodline mission to restore lost Israel from the grave. Will we humbly turn our hearts to this birthright brother and hear his message of hope for his broken brothers and sisters today?
How do we unite the Stick of Joseph/Ephraim with the stick of Judah so the "great army" of Israel can resurrect, as seen by Ezekiel?
How do we make the Book of Mormon message relevant for other tribes, especially Judah?
Why was Mormon commissioned to write the Book of Mormon the way that he did?
What was the Josephite lineage, and why were they set apart to save Israel from captivity?

Mormon's words in Mormon chapters 7-9 are some of the most powerful pleadings and prophecies that seal the entire abridgement of The Book of Mormon to our day. Thanks for bringing him up now for context before we get to the book of Mosiah!
I just wanted to say thank you for your content. I started out listening to Rod Meldrum and found this channel. I have been on a repentance path and started reading the BoM and a week before General Conference I had a feeling I needed to strive to get a Temple Recommend. I couldn't believe such a statement about generals and specifically Mormon was made during the fireside you quoted. I just watched it and confirmed your quote was actually said. While I did gain greater context regarding the statement, it didn't fix how horrible and inaccurate that statement about Mormon was. It just demonstrates that we are to examine everything critically cause when others feel they are sharing with us a feast they can unknowingly serve a side of refuse. I'm grateful that Father will allow us all to sincerely apologize directly to others we have disparaged with our words. I'm sure this isn't the worst or last apology Mormon the prophet, general, and scriptorian will receive before it's all over.
Mormon was & is a great prophet. So is Enos. There are so many good examples in the scriptures & several that are good examples of what NOT to do. Mormon & Enos are definitely good examples of what To DO.

Joseph Smith was "pure" Ephraimite, per Brigham Young. Moroni gave the plates to Joseph Smith, which may mean Joseph Smith held that birthright to represent Ephraim in restoring and saving the house of Israel.
I believe in Lucy Mack Smith book about their family, she said Sariah, wife of Lehi, was a sister to Ishmael, who was of the tribe of Ephraim, . I don't know what the children's lineage was, but could be either!
Where are those records now?
The wind, the atmosphere, is the Spirit, is it not?
If it is the responsibility of Ephraim and Manassa to gather the rest of the tribes, do the other tribes have any responsibilities once gathered? I know the tribe of Levi has to do with bishops and I've always liked the way Genesis chapter 49 spelled it all out but could never figure out if there were other responsibilities
So it's not just apostasy, not just that the Bible is incomplete, but that it always WAS and WOULD be. Not just destined to be, but deliberately was.

Hannah: I love that you brought up Ezekiel 38! Yes!! I have a 3 hour presentation my dad put together on this that I hope to get recorded and released when we cover 3 Nephi 3-6 in Come Follow Me later this year (which I believe is Mormon's parallel). Fingers crossed I will have the time to do it. :)
