    Wow! I had heard we had professors going off the deep end but this feels diabolical! To twist scripture like this has all the earmarks of the adversary! Bravo to that young student willing to come forward! His courage in bringing this to light and to standing up for truth is exemplary! As a parent I would be so upset to hear my child being taught these things!
    Thank you for showing this to me! It helps to know this is going on so we can fight it.
    There is an apathy among many members today. I'm grateful you shared your experience in your class of baring your testimony which led them to "wake up". They felt the spirit through you. ❤❤❤

      Unfortunately the explanation that student gave about Enos and The Book of Mormon has been adopted much more broadly among members of our church. I've seen it recently on RUclips among podcasters that I like, too. And usually those people aren't doing it intentially or maliciously, but they've been so taught to adapt The Book of Mormon to the world's point of view that they miss the mark on the true messages it is meant to convey, and then justify the false messages by twisting the idea that "The Book of Mormon is for our day".
      It is very much for our day, precisely to combat against those ideas, not to support them.

    This message was fantastic! The word of God is in fact the iron rod that leads us back to our Heavenly Father. Remove any trust in that word, and you are essentially letting go of the rod that you will bring you back home. Clearly Satan's most powerful tactic! It's just a shame that it is happening in our own Church-funded schools. I hope more and more light is thrown on this dangerous trend!

We need more people like you who can inspire our youth in righteousness and combat the questionable and negative philosophies of men who are influencing every aspect of our world today, even, apparently, those we have entrusted to teach our children the truth. Progressive? No. The world is not progressing. It is regressing. We need more people like you, people with a backbone, people who will valiantly defend the truth. People who will follow our living prophet, walk the covenant path, and never give up. We are a covenant people and we need to hang onto our testimonies for dear life. No retreat. No surrender. Great job. Love your channel.

    The Founding Fathers have also been judged terribly in a skewed way. I'm so saddened to seen this horrendous skewed judgement from so called lds professors attacking our scriptures. The Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ is packed with great men who fearlessly stood for truth and righteousness and left us with a record of instruction on how to stand up in our day. Much needed instruction. Yes, resentment and jealousy is rampant in many societies and this issue is as old as time. A human nature issue! Excellent clip of Douglass Murray as well.

    We are so blessed to have the scriptures and the gospel. That being said we know why things are happening today. I am striving to be prepared for the coming of our Savior. We can testify of the truth, but our brothers and sisters around the world have their agency to choose God or not. We must strive to be Zion in heart and mind. The scriptures teach us about what the last days will be like. We must be strong and stand with God. All we can do is pray and testify.

I try not to have to high of expectations because I am sure the LORD knows what HE is doing & things will happen in the right order & at the right time & in the right way. I just have to figure out what my part is in HIS plan of redemption & then do those things.

      One of the problems is that any university that is accredited must abide by certain rules, which include the faculty publishing. When they publish, their writings are supposed to fit the current narrative or they are rejected. Also, in recent times there is pressure to adopt DEI (diversity/equity/inclusion to be accredited. Also, there is pressure to hire faculty that are “diverse.” This is a challenging situation, because a student’s degree is worthless if it doesn’t come from an accredited university.

    I really don't understand, don't curricula at BYU need to be approved before taught to the general student body? Don't professors need to be vetted by some sort of Church council? How can something like that be permitted to be taught at Brigham Young university, a private university of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? I really don't understand that. 😳

    Skin color or race actually is important and tied to generational sin and the rejection of the Holy Ghost at national scale. Every group that stoned and killed the anointed have become a dark and loathsome people. Only the anointed have the keys and power to anoint others and if that offer of grace is rejected their garments and robes will not be found white and spotless at the last days.

    Thank yo! I love this message it really brings hope. You are critical of those of us who believe that Joseph did not practice polygamy. I wish we did have this divide in the church. I appreciate the good that Brigham did but I believe he made some big mistakes and polygamy was a big one, but I still believe he was a prophet. Here is the thing; you call Joseph a liar when he said repeatedly that he was not practicing polygamy but than you criticize me for calling Brigham lair when be framed Joseph for starting that practice. You have done such an awesome job clearing Joseph's name of practicing magic and all that none sense. I hope you will take a serious look at the history on polygamy and make a video about it. Who knows I might change my mind. Keep up the great work!

    • @JosephSmithFoundation
      @JosephSmithFoundation  3 месяца назад +2

      Hannah: Thank you for your respectful comment! The vast majority (high 90%) of the communication we have received from individuals who believe Brigham Young invented polygamy and framed Joseph Smith has been inflammatory, hateful, crude, or manipulative. It is refreshing and unusual for me to see the opposite.
      I hope you don't mind me speaking candidly, especially in the context of the podcast that spurred this comment. I mean absolutely no offense and just want to speak clearly, but with no judgment towards you personally. I speak of the issue and the debate in general. Having written a book on Helen Mar Kimball and having spent a lot of years studying the Prophet Joseph Smith, I personally feel that narrative is pretty flawed. It ignores some pretty key sources and some basic common sense logic. Not to mention, it belittles and demeans some of the greatest ancient patriarchs to walk the face of the earth. Men that I know for myself were not immoral in any way, nor were they blind victims to the culture around them. Abraham overcame his upbringing and culture, he spoke face to face with God both before and after his plural marriage-the same God who cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance (especially any sin that hurts women, which I believe God is fiercely protective of). Abraham wasn't blind to any of this. He was far greater than every man alive today put together. No man is qualified to judge him, especially in a way that requires throwing many prophets of God under the bus, until that individual is remotely the same caliber as Abraham. That rules out everyone pushing this narrative, and I would even be so bold as to say everyone alive today. When we talk about honoring the fathers, the first place to start would be men like Abraham. The father of the Abrahamic covenant. And no, this narrative is not honoring to Abraham. The same could be said of many other men who practiced plural marriage according to God's command, including the father of the entire House of Israel, another one of our eternal kings and fathers that we should be turning our heart toward, Jacob or Israel.
      Forgive me for speaking boldly. Again, I appreciated your comment and want to make sure you do not feel any attack toward you personally! Please know this! I speak strongly of what I know with testimony because I know without a shadow of a doubt, the purity and greatness of these men, and I also know for myself the adversary is waging a clever and deceptive battle to alienate their children from them. Turning my heart to these fathers is what saved my life spiritually. Words cannot express my overflowing heart of joy, deliverance, and peace that journey gave me, as well as my gratitude to those individuals God placed in my life to help me on that journey. I know these new narratives are clever, deceptive, and even confusing. But these men were righteous, and they were inspired in all the areas of their lives. One day, all of us will know this without a shadow of a doubt. Right now, the Latter-Day Saints are being tested. Will they abandon their Fathers? And cut themselves off from the covenant? Or will they be humble and meek, so that they can be empowered to build Zion? Each of us has to make that choice. God bless you on that journey!

    I'd love to be in that professor's class. I believe, I hope, I would have had the presence of mind in my college age years to have pushed back on his extremely faulty reasoning.
    1. The Book of Mormon is true or it is fiction.
    2. If it is fiction, you cannot know the mind of the heart of the protagonists because they have none. You are on a charlatan's errand.
    3. If it is true, then it was brought forth by God. He approves of it and, by extension, he approves of those who wrote it. He knows them perfectly. You do not.
    4. If it is true, one can only know the heart of the protagonists by inspiration of the Holy Ghost, literally by being a prophet, if only for a moment. Let me add:
    a. Nephi went through the harrowing ordeal of having to avoid being murdered by his brothers while guiding those who wanted to live in righteousness to a safe haven. He then was obliged to fashion weapons for his people for their defense because his brothers' band tried to massacre them. That would be reason to have hard feelings toward them. Neither group was a race but rather a tribe. Only one of those tribes was trying to destroy the other one.
    b. Nephi's expressions indicate he wished his brothers would repent. He harbored no racial animosity. As stated, they weren't races.
    c. Enos expressed his desire that the Lamanites would one day become righteous. God told him that was what other prophets had fervently desired. Now you know their heart because God revealed it to you through Enos.
    5. An attempt to accuse men that God calls good of something nefarious is known as being an accuser. Devil means accuser, as does Satan.
    Are you being a charlatan or are you devilish? Either way, this class is worthless unless you change and repent.

  • @Metallographer_1
    @Metallographer_1 3 месяца назад +1

    How many times does the word "Jew" appear in the Torah? Answer, zero. That's because they were called Children of Israel exclusively prior to the Babylonian exile. Nephi was supposedly writing around 600 BC, which was before the exile, and he used the word "Jew" or "Jews" 33 times but "Children of Israel" only 3 times. But since he used both terms in the same book of Nephi, we know that Smith didn't just translate "Children of Israel" as "Jews", for whatever reason, he translated two different terms individually, when only one actually could have been used by anyone in 600 BC.
    I guess that's what happens when you're a Christian in the 1800s pretending to be an ancient Israelite, you don't know that using the wrong term will later prove beyond all reasonable doubt that you're a fraud. And that, boys and girls, is just how easily I exposed the Book of Mormon as a fake. But if anyone here has a reasonable explanation for how Nephi was calling his own people Jews in 600 BC then you might be able to come to the rescue and save Smith's honor.

      The Book of Mormon was inspired by Our Heavenly Father & Creator. He had it written for our day, not for ancient Isreal. Your point perfectly proves that The Creator is one step ahead of Satan.

      How many times does Jew appear in the book of Jeremiah? Eleven times. Jeremiah was a contemporary of Lehi. Your argument holds zero water. Don’t be talking trash about Brother Joseph. He was one of the finest people to have ever walked this planet.
