Stranger Things Season 1 came in 2016, Season 2 came out in 2017. Season 3 was released in 2019 to run as a summer show, but was filmed in 2018. Season 4 started filming in early 2020, but had to halt production because of COVID restrictions and didn't resume until late 2020, so they ended up filming until September 2021 because of restrictions and safety reasons. So season 4 part 1 was released in Spring 2022, a year after its initial release date was supposed to be. Due to the time jumps in between seasons, the aging of the characters is plausible though.
I heard season 5 will be last with some spinoff but I think this show will somehow continue best on Netflix. Wonderful cast, true friendships and chemistry

I remember when this show first came out and was being hyped everywhere I didn't get it. I checked it, watched the first 5 minutes, and didn't bother to watch the rest. We grew up in the 70's and 80's at a time when most families had two parents in the house, but they really didn't focus on us. We were encouraged to get out and go play. Bike riding, sandlot baseball, and skating we're our favorite pastimes during the school year, and any body of water for swimming was the summer haunt. It was rare for a kid to spend more than 2 hours a day inside the house, we were always outside on some crazy adventure. Due to this fact, a LOT of kids disappeared back then. It was rare for them to be found alive, if ever. We grew up with movies like the Goonies, The Lost Boys, Neverending Story, Six Pack, as well as Nightmare on Elm street, Friday the 13th, Poltergeist, Hell Raiser, The Exorcist, Amityville Horror, Pumpkin Head, Halloween, Swamp Thing, Red October, The Day After, and a whole slew of other fear based cinema. We had no internet, no cell phones, no social media. We had libraries and music stores.
