I'm sorry but, I have to add a little bit of sugar in my dressing. It should not make it sweet at all but it will help to round the flavor or the dressing. It's the same thing if you don't put that tablespoon of salt in something sweet to help round and balance it.

Thank you for sharing. I could eat this as a meal all itself. I use Jiffy mix, it makes a good cornbread just as it is, and often goes on sale. We can absolutely be best friends because you love that butter too and you cook your celery until it's soft too. This is good southern home cooking.

I add 4 pieces of white toast and a sleeve of crushed saltine crackers crushed to crumbled cornbread that I cooked the day before and let dry out over night, usually use 5-7 cups of turkey/chicken stock, add about 3 cups to start then add a cup at a time and stir let sit for 10 mins each time until it stops soaking up stock, taste make sure seasoning is right then beat 5-6 eggs and stir in good Bake 350 for about an hr Dressing puffs up like a soufflé and is so light and fluffy and melts in your mouth

This looks incredible. I messed up one year, I love Jiffy cornbread, (not a fan of unsweetened cornbread), so I tried to make a cornbread dressing with that Ugh, I won't do that again. i agree the sugar doesnt go well in cornbread dressing. i have mde it with jiffy but i only used one box. the other box was a unsweeteened cornbread. it was great. but nah cant use only jiffy, its too sweet

My husband got so excited when I showed him this video. He said, “That’s it! That’s it! Her’s looks JUST LIKE Dad’s!” We are so expectant to have a piece of him with us that we though was gone forever. He was a Mississippi, born and raised, Southern cook. ONE QUESTION: can I prepare the dressing the night before and refrigerate uncooked then add the chicken and two eggs and bake on Thanksgiving morning? Making my first turkey, etc this year 🤞 @camirraskitchen
