    Great video Josh. This proves the value of livescope. How deep where these fish?

    Very informative video. I was going to ask how deep were the lakers holding but I see you already answered that one. I'm on the NY side of Champlain and hope to hit them from shore this week. I think there are deeper shorelines on the NY side where you can catch them with a fly or spin rod from the bank.

      Check humps close to shore

      @@BendItFishing Thanks! I'll check the Lake Champlain contour map closely. I noticed on youtube there are lake trout trollers who do well with both light blue and pink in their lures, so I tied a few streamers with pink, blue and white in them. There are no traditional streamer patterns with those colors so I improvised. Rapala, Little Cleo, Kastmaster and Phoebe have models with those colors called 'rainbow trout' or 'smelt' so evidently that color scheme is pretty popular. You might want to try a streamer with that color pattern next time for the lakers. Sometimes a different color makes a huge difference.

      Yeah I use chartreuse zonker, and a perch colored fly but I'm sure white and blue deceiver would work

    What was the surface temperature? At that temperature the lakers should be in close to shore at any lake either staging or spawning. Thanks.

      @@BendItFishing Wow! You might find the lakers there earlier in the fall when the surface temperatures are in the low 50s. Thanks for the response.

    • @BendItFishing
      @BendItFishing  Год назад

      Yes they move up to spawn usually on rocky areas

    • @browntrout611
      @browntrout611 Год назад

      @@BendItFishing I keep reading how lakers will start staging at the spawning areas when the surface temps drop below 55 degrees which is why I recommended trying the spawning area earlier in the fall when you get a reading of 53 degrees, for example, or less. The ADK trout ponds generally close on Oct. 15 but the water may be cold enough before Oct. 15 to catch the lakers staging in the spawning areas. I'll find out this fall. Getting psyched because of your video and one by a Vermont fishing guide by the name of Drew Price(I think?) on youtube. He caught some 25 plus inchers at the Grand Isle ferry area with a fly rod for local TV.

    • @BendItFishing
      @BendItFishing  Год назад

      Yup that's all true. I've heard of Drew and fished that spot it's very popular. I can't target Lakers in the fall in NH so I go to Sebago or Champlain. The fall can be hit or miss and they spawn at night and snagging happens a bit I've heard.
