    Found this gem from a RUclips suggestion and so glad I found it. Jayz early days, frikin love it! Wish this Jay could talk to today's Jay regarding the GTX 780 vs today's RTX 4090... crazy how things change in only 9 years. This build is now obsolete, but love watching these old vids!

Seeing this video the first thing I said to myself was "OMG Jay is going to have a field day with all these cables" Yet I was surprised on how good the cable management turned out. I give you props for making this case work. Very well done.

    He went so far as to try and find a case that would work in whatever color I wanted. In the end we went with the better option and while its not Blue I LOVE the looks of this trashcan. I told Jay to do what he wanted color scheme wise and well, he delivered. I know not everyone agrees with the parts I picked. Hell even Jay really doesn't *4770k cough*. But I don't intent to upgrade for a long time. One last continue lol.

    It amazes me some of the questions you guys are asking that he answers in the video its self. Like if he uses it for doing his gaming or benchmarking…he said in the damn video its for a customer…lol and then all the questions like "why did you put that shit in there you could of saved money with this lower grade cpu blah blah blah" he said in the damn video he is future proofing it…..lol listen before ya type. Although i know that's hard for the youtube population

    • @JivkoBS
      @JivkoBS 9 лет назад

      +Caleb Muir There is no such thing as "future proofing" with hardware. i7 or Xeon might be enough for the next 5 years. Might not be. You buy what you need at the moment.

    • @IFIXUR360
      @IFIXUR360 8 лет назад +2

      +Jivko Popov depends on what the rig is really for. if he doesnt really mind about quality and frame rate then hes good for the next 7 maybe 8 years. if its just a media pc with render purposes it could last 12 years. the job determines the lifespan and effectiveness of the PCs internal parts. gaming isnt the only reason people build custom computers and put graphics cards in them. hell i had a 1 g card in my theater rig for 2 years before i ever thought about gaming with it. and the card was an old ass gt610. still running today and i bought it 5 years ago.

    • @jimmylee695
      @jimmylee695 8 лет назад +1

      +Jivko Popov There IS future proofing...to an extent. Get a cheap ass CPU or GPU and you'll be doing the opposite. To me, i got the 6700K and 980ti. If it last's me a few years easily, i'mma happy. 5 years? I'll be stocked. That, to me is my future-proof rig. To me! :)

    • @JivkoBS
      @JivkoBS 8 лет назад +1

      Well, i have 6500 so it should be good for a few years. I am pretty satisfied with my choice ... for now. But my point is, you never know what will be released in a year or two ... or at least not exactly. And yes, i must agree that it all depends on what it will be used for ...

  • @xenovendeta
    @xenovendeta 11 лет назад

    As Jay said we went over everything. The final deciding factor for me was the amount of stress when transporting. The reason behind that is this PC will be transported 5 sometimes 6 days a week. While the hope is nothing goes wrong going with a case that will have even slightly less stress on the internals makes more sense for me.

  • @MrLexxBomb
    @MrLexxBomb 11 лет назад

    Nice build Jay, hope the client really enjoys the rig.The one thing I would suggest is maybe some magnetic clip on dust filters over those bottom 80mm intake ports... buts about it.

    As the buyer I can tell you guys I am very pleased with this. I'll try to answer a couple of the questions. Why the 780? I've used Nvidia for a long time. AMD is certainly testing my loyalty but I'm not ready to switch yet. 4770k was for potential OC. I didn't expect it. Figured it would be case related heat issues though not the worst 4770 that wasn't DOA. But if the OC could happen I wanted that option. It just didn't work out. CONTINUED.

  • @Hubieee
    @Hubieee 10 лет назад +4

    Sorry, but the case is crap. I doubt the air flow is "optimal" with this configuration. Else I would doubt that the fan doesn't suffer damage over time with the CPU cooler hoses pushing onto it. :-/

      I know this is many years later, but just to let you know the air flow was fine, the fans and CPU where fine. I'm only now replacing the CPU and thats my fault for not paying attention to the liquid cooler going out and cooking it.

  • @Shadowcam00
    @Shadowcam00 11 лет назад

    Like he said about the GTX 780; get one with the regular Titan-style cooler if you have a small case like this without extra air-flow, but the custom cooled cards are better with larger cases. I have the Asus DCU2 GTX 780, and the cooling is excellent; Even while moderately overclocked and with the voltage turned up, it has NEVER reached 70 degrees celsius, even after hours of running games on ultra settings.

    I dunno why everyone is going to Intel and Nvidia now. I've used both in the past but atm I'm using a First Gen AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core at 3.60GHz and an R9 280 3GB GPU and I've never had issues with AMD before. I guess It's all down to preference in the end.

    • @Darthwarrior
      @Darthwarrior 10 лет назад +1

      Nvidia is better when it comes to taking all that green out of your wallet but I have to admit they are great when it comes to performance.

    • @ajbeute
      @ajbeute 10 лет назад

      yeah wekk nvidia is good,but they are good at rendering,gaming,and much more side things. amd is pure for gaming and is alot cheaper and has the same gaming perfomance. a 150 amd gpu vs a 150 dollar gpu nvida amd is gonna be better for gaming. now in the higher prive ranges nvidia will have a little lead but for that money that little lead isnt worth the money

    • @Darthwarrior
      @Darthwarrior 10 лет назад

      Since the bitcoining and cripto currency craze every top tier video card raise 100 in price which is giving nvidia an advantage because the prices are looking better compared to amd

    • @Kamal9Deuce
      @Kamal9Deuce 10 лет назад +2

      Statements like this are just purely retarded, with a PC build you set up a budget for your GPU at each price range AMD and Nvidia trade blows but one is ultimately better than the other for the money. When choosing geforce or radeon you must first decide whats your budget then get whats best from what you've allocated. You Dont buy the brand you buy a GPU.

    • @Darthwarrior
      @Darthwarrior 10 лет назад +1

      Kamal9Deuce That is not the way you gpu shop. Until recently you could buy a amd card and get more fps for your budget. Nvidia wasn't catering for the lower end people. Take a look at the amd 260x compared to the nvidia gtx 550ti. Same price big fps difference. Until the launch of the 750ti we see some difference. Nvidia forces the budget builders to settle for last gen cards.

    This PC build costs about 2000$ and still you dont have "ultimate" gaming PC., you spend to much money on not important things like SSD which is not relevant for gaming !!! now in 2014 you can build better gaming PC for under 1400$ and this build will slaps gaming PC for 2500$ or more., just buy fx 8320 and aftermarket cooler and OC cpu on 4,5- 4,8 Ghz and most important three(3) Sapphire Radeon VAPOR-X R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 DVI-I/DVI-D/HDMI/DP with Boost and OC Version (for crossfire) ) (or two R9 280x) and all other important parts for PC and that will be about 1400$ ., This kind of gaming PC will be able to play every game on max settings on resolution 2560 x1600 with at least 50-55fps average or more

    • @timluffy7467
      @timluffy7467 10 лет назад +6

      first off the guy wanted portability, thats why a pretty penny went on the ssd, and second the 4770k with the 780 will eat your 270x haha, and im quite sure that card coulndt do max settings in 1600p at 50fps if it was 1080p then yeah maybe. and your pc is far from better, if you throw price out the window, (which is the only winning point of the things you said) then this pc will eat that one alive. if your gonna go against the 4770k you better be using the 8350 or better. GTX 780 is (much)weaker than two R9 270x when you crossfire them., you have videos on youtube and performance of two R9 270x and then look performance on games with one GTX 780 then you will see what is the difference beetween them. ,I see only that i7 4770k give shity results when you crossfire two GPU-s ., it can be bad motherboard or failure in softwarte but i see few of that things already

    • @timluffy7467
      @timluffy7467 10 лет назад

      your high bro haha, while crossfire does give it a good boost, it doesnt beat a 780, maybe it will in battlefield but not anywhere else. and two of them costs the same as 780, (using asus direct cu II models) and besides you wont run into crossfire/sli compability issues either with just one card, not mention you can oc the 780 like beast to where it pretty much becomes a 780ti, which we all know is the best single gpu there is right now.

    • @Mr11ESSE111
      @Mr11ESSE111 10 лет назад

      it beat 780 , with 780ti are same or in some games better few % and in other worst

      multi tip drivers are amature stuff . get a real driver set and some brand name quality tools ,
      You should always check the PSU for proper voltage before hooking it up to the MB or GPU .. where is your volt/amp meter ?
      $ 500 cards are worth the extra 5 minutes it takes to make sure the PSU isn't faulty out of the box .

      5thhorsman Because if you know what you're doing with a PC, you don't need $500 worth of PC specific tools when you probably have tools that can do the job lying around the house. Honestly instead of wasting your money on a toolkit that will do nothing for performance you could dish out some more money towards your GPU.

    • @5thhorsman
      @5thhorsman 10 лет назад +1

      Yeah , Why would you want a $60.00 multi meter and a $100.00 Insulated driver set to assemble $2,500 + worth of hardware for paying customers ? That's just crazy yo .

    LOVE THIS BUILD. Only a couple things I would have changed. I would have gone with the MSI 780 Twin Frozr. Switched out the PSU for a Corsair AX760i. Its modular, platinum, and matches the colors. It would also work even better with Corsair Link. It would have also cut down on the noise in its ZERO RPM fan mode. I would have also given a USB 3.0 for backup just because its faster. Only because of personal preference I would have liked a WD Caviar Black or Raptor.

    I'm not jayztwocents, but I can tell you that 650ti is pretty much outdated unless you're on an extreme budget. 7870/7950 are two very solid cards, and they're from teh 7xxx series meaning they're compatible with the new Mantle API from AMD. This means that future games (such as BF4) will be able to run better on it than via DirectX. BF4 will be releasing their Mantle support in december, about the same time as the new consoles and the new line of GPU's from AMD get released.
