Kicking off 2014 with a new setup, intro and a full guide on how to build yourself a gaming PC!
Really lovin your Los Pollos Hermanos shirt. GO BREAKING BAD.
really nice intro! :D
Love your videos!
kamboj sb Not just really nice, IT WAS REALLY EPIC!!!
Jonner im sorry i wasent thinking because that intro was probably the best on youtube
this video changed my life - building my own computer turned me from a kid interested in tech into a full-on nerd/tinkerer.
without this video I would probably be a completely different person. it sounds extreme, but literally 99% of my dreams and aspirations stem from me just spending such an absurd amount of time tinkering with computers/code.
thank you, Austin Evans.
same here. this was the video that got me into computers nearly six years ago as a hobby, and now I'm planning on going to college for computer engineering
8 years ago, I watched this video to build my first computer; since then I've built a total of 13 PC"s!! 3 for myself and 10 for some friends. Without this video, I would have been lost. Thank you Austin, for the years of great content, and bringing the nerd out in me!
I can't help but laugh at people in the comments saying, "I want to play Minecraft, LoL, etc." and then they have a damn i7, GTX 970, 16 GB RAM, etc. XD
im wanting to play skyrim
You'll want something like an FX-6300 and a GTX 950/960 if you are on a strict budget.
+AlphaLineGaming
Can you run you dgpu on first install, as in build it and then connect you cables to your gpu instead of your mobo on first time system use?
+AlphaLineGaming I just want to emulate retro games will a FX 8300, GTX Titan X, and 32 GB of ram be enough I'm not sure. I think I might need two titans, Super Mario World is pretty demanding.
+AlphaLineGaming Not really. For Skyrim, a Pentium and 750 Ti should do just fine without too much GPU hungry mods.
I still remember building my PC with the help of this video in mid-2015. Good memories :)
This is how Austin looked at 2014😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💯
Yea
@zetix my friend has that pfp for instagram
hhhhhhhhhhh
😂
Lol
Back when Austin was really in depth on how to do something...
DR. NOODLES I was like, "Why not watch the old tutorial?" and then, "Well this is more helpful..." lol

That hair doe! 😂😂😂
Love the new intro Austin!

Thanks a lot on the video, I recently got into Pc gaming and I was building my own. Did not know where to start but thanks to you I have my very own built Pc. They way you walked through it and they camera was showing everything. I appreciate it!
Building a new pc to play club penguin medium settings

MelonMan/RomanScrub My friends will be jealous af when i build my gaming pc
qwerty same, i'm getting a i5 4690K and GTX 970 with a hot asf case and motherboard
Austin,Congratulations on makeing such a short but extremely helpful tutorial best on RUclips helped me a lot keep up the vids!
I built my PC on the 23rd of December and I just wanted to say thanks as you're one of a few people that has inspired me to build a PC, it was a great experience + I saved a lot of money. Thanks! :D
Good job! What specs?
xazzerr AMD FX-6300, ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0, MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr 2GB OCed Edition, Corsair 200R Case...
Nice, I was thinking of getting a very similar one :D Same processor, motherboard but for graphics card probaly R9 270X.(I can get BF4 for free with this card)
xazzerr Woah, that will be awesome! I really want to get BF4 but I can't buy it ATM, need a few more dollars. Do you know where I can get it for cheap w/ Multiplayer? :P
***** You can go to Green Man Gaming, it is a bit like steam and there is normally a 20% off voucher if you get them to email you.
Thanks a bunch Austin this video totally helped me built my gaming pc. I do know about the components but you helped me put the parts together! And even better it turned on, on my first try! Thank you Austin!
I'm so excited. I'm doing a high-end build soon and I can't wait to have more flexibility with what I can do on my PC.
3 IMPORTANT THINGS THAT WERE NOT MENTIONED IN VIDEO:
1) Ensure that the power supply you're installing has enough power for the other components you're installing, namely the graphics card. Also consider whether or not you will want to overclock your CPU. If you power supply cannot deliver the power necessary, you may experience frequent crashes and poor performance. I would recommend a 600 watt power supply for most gaming PC's, unless you want less performance but better energy conservation.
2) Most high profile graphics cards (like the one he used) will generate a lot of heat and can fry your motherboard if you're not careful. You may need to install an additional fan on the top of your desktop for increased air circulation and heat transfer. Sadly, I've learned this from experience.
3) The hard drive is very sensitive to physical shock (e.g. dropping it, shaking it, etc.) You should treat this component as if it was a newborn baby. Also, I would recommend installing a 2nd hard drive for backup (a RAID enclosure is good for this.) Or if you have an online file backup system, that would also suffice. Additional though, you can combine multiple hard disks to boost data transfer speed.
I would also highly recommend installing a program to monitor various aspects of your PC while it's running, such as CPU core temperatures, CPU usage, fan speeds, etc.
Also, these 2 things were mentioned in the video, however I feel like they require greater emphasis:
ALWAYS ensure that there is a layer of thermal paste between the CPU and the heat sink. His came pre-applied, but you may have to buy thermal paste separately and apply it yourself if it did not come pre-applied.
ALWAYS take precautions to discharge any static electricity from your body, computer, work space, tools, etc. before handling the motherboard, as it is very sensitive to electrical shock. A good way to double-check and ensure you are static free is to touch the computers power supply first (assuming it's already been installed.) This will act as a chassis ground and safely discharge any static electricity from your body.
Everybody new to building computers, LISTEN TO THIS GUY. If you accidentally rub your socks on carpet and you touch your graphics card or anything else you could destroy everything, Buy an Anti-Static wrist band for like £2 and don't risk anything.
TheMetalGearSolid3 I had on socks on carpet, and was fine. You just plug in the psu, switch it off, and mount it in the case. That gives a solid electrical ground.
if i go with this build and just go with what he has suggested will i run into problems ?
friendly alien and is the power supply good enough for this build ? or is he cheeping out ?
He is hardcore cheating out I would recommend a 1tb western digital black, or if u have extra money get the 1tb wd caviar black and a samsung 128 ssd for faster startup of games and faster pc bootup
Thanks man! I'm 14 and I've just built my own computer and its fully working! I got the same power supply, A GTX 540 graphics card, A H81M-E33 MSI Motherboard, 8GB ram and I can't remember the processor. This was my first time. Thanks a lot, P.S I saved up and got good grades I aint spoilt :)
You my friend are an absolute legend you have helped me throughout my whole gaming pc adventure thank you
I found Austin's channel because I heard his house burned down. Then I saw this video, built a computer a month later, and have been an enthusiast ever since. Thanks for introducing me to my favorite hobby Austin!
Thanks Austin... You are just awesome =] You got me really into PC's and building! I built my own PC over this winter break :)
Thank you for the awesome videos!
will this be able to play crisis 3 at 60fps?
Motherboard: A sheet of paper
Memory: 0.5 bits of dedicated WAAM
Fans: A water bottle
Heatsink: Some frozen peas
Case: A cardboard box
Monitor: An iPod nano
Storage: A notepad and pen
PSU: A hamster on a wheel
CPU: A dead rats brain
is there anything I need to change? I'm willing to upgrade my motherboard to a sheet of plastic.
Yes but it can't run minesweeper at 1080p at Extra ULTRA settings with Shaders ;___;
ok then, what do I need to do? I could over clock my cpu so that I can get the power of a cats brain. Will that work? pls answer ASAP
i'm thinking of 3, but I could buy the special tesco value paper for the 6. I don't know what to do. Would you save the extra £0.7?
LOOOOOOOL the hamster on the wheel got me.
What's your GPU? I'm using a Blue Crayon and it works great, gets about 70fps.
Was finding for a proper video to make a new PC. Thanks Austin !!!
Just built my first pc thanks so much austinevans for this video it was truly a great help
This was a really simple tutorial. Thanks Austin!
Used to build my own as well in the mid-90s. Not too much has changed. Nice to have such an excellent "refresher" course... thank you '-}
I'm officially impressed. =)
This has restored my confidence in building my own PC.
Thanks Austin! :D
2 years old and still better then all the others I watched thanks
Watched this video maybe 23 times?
Most important tip of all is to not close the side panel before posting, otherwise the PC will explode...
wtf?
Its sort of a pc building superstition.
XRTManBearPig try it. i dare you.
Thank you so much this is by far the best and shortest guide on RUclips!
Me and my computer fanatic friend are building my PC. 2500 dollars later it's all coming in and I can't wait. Thanks for the tips Austin ;)
BEST GUIDE EVER. THANKS A LOT! Reasons im holding back from getting a pc:
1. Dont know how to build one-- Check
2. Financials-- in progress
Thanks so much Austin! I just built my 1st pc :)
Thanks austin, your tutorial is simple and clean, like it so much
This is one of the most detailed and helpful guides thanks
"Los Pollos Hermanos gives KFC a run for its money."
can you please do one "for dummies" where you literally walk us through everything. i cant afford even an upgrade let alone a screw up
Another great review but this was the memories of your old studios :( still watching this
Just used this to build my first gaming PC. It was easy, thanks Austin
can this build run minesweeper
gpu: used condom
cpu: glass dildo
motherboard: old sock
storage: leftover steak
psu: lemon
case: paper box
thanks
+Zxpwd ha 69 frames
+swaglord only if u have over 9000 Pizza Ram
made my day
+swaglord It'll work, but you're gonna want to make sure it's an unwashed sock.
Yes.
loving the breaking bad shirt :)
Thank you so much for this guide, I built my first computer 2 days ago following this guide & it took me about 2 hours, but I did it. the bloody thing wouldn't turn on at first and I was devastated but then I figured out the mother board 24 pin connector wasn't plugged in properly hahaha. Thank you so much man!
Just built my one using this tutorial. Currently installing Windows! Thanks his helped to much.
can I play cool math games in low settings?
Yeah at a whopping 5 fps
Lmao
+Max Maillet probably 15fps
But the real question is if you can play Tetris?
I luv you.
Sorry for your house man...
***** THERE IS NO WE THERE IS NO I THERE IS COMRADE
You are awesome for doing this vid, very well done, informative, concise, clear...cheers!
Oh my god you are a life saver the other tutorials are like over an hour long
great video!
I agree with you !
Im looking into building a pc and I was just wondering if you need to buy a wireless adapter to connect to the interent. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
+Josh Campbell No you dont need it, if you have an ethernet cable you can just plug that in but if you want to use wifi (Not recommended) you do need a wifi card.
Just built my pc, I would have broken everything, and would definitely not have a computer without this video, so helpful
This is the best PC building tutorial on the internet!
that cable management ;_;
rip eyes
Don't cut the red wire! Not even the black!!!
He said his particular case was tricky to manage.
Better than soldering wires and you soldered it into the wrong one and you have to rebuy the circutboard you were using.
I've used that same case before. Rosewill Line-M wins the worst case ever for managing cables!
love the shirt!
Few years old, still a great video
Thank You so much!! I finally built a computer after three months of picking out parts! :3
Hey Austin, can you do another 500/600$ Pc build for mid 2014? Thanks.
These are my specs on my PC:
CPU: A slice of cheese
GPU: A piece of plastic
PowerSupply: A can of coke
RAM: A domino
Case: A diaper with poo in it
This cost me £2636375854626496969853746970947596095855859595736270985236842688441
Can I run COD AW at 2465255275773644743853754 fps?
MaxtheKidMD Maybe upgrade your RAM to a pizza hut box and you will be perfect, but if you cant you are still fine
+MaxtheKidMD Nah man, instead of a can of coke make it a can of Mountain Dew. Then you will probably get like 60fps on almost any game.
Upgrade that Diaper to a toilet paper roll and u should have enough space for some good looking cable management!
Forgot to say your power supply is horrid, upgrade that to an old piece of spit ASAP
***** yeah, a liter bottle should get him enough power
Very helpful :) I will be attempting to put mine together tomorrow. I was originally going to go and buy a pre-built El cheapo computer but the sales guy was retail guy was rather helpful and put together a kit that was 10x better for the same price.
easy to understand, and well shown. Thanks buddy!
I DID IT , i almost fucken died , BUT STILL , I FUCKEN DID IT xDD
+Rigsen-san You're now a man.
turbotortiose *I am no longer a peasant :D :D
+Rigsen-san can it run gta 5,Battlefront etc. Im sorry if its a stupid question im new to pc
Banana Gaming i didn't follow this video , i found my parts alone , trough this pc can probably run gta 5 if you ask me
+Rigsen-san ok i need to know if it can run demanding games like just cause 3
you need a haircut for sure O.o
Thanks a lot. This guide and a few others were a big help.
I'm so happy, my first time building and things couldn't have gone better. :)
Nice t-shirt :)
Nice Breaking Bad shirt :D
Watched this as I built my first computer. Thank you Austin :)
Thank you so much! It was sooo helpful! Cant wait to build my own!

Now That's some fucking professional Camera/Editing austin.
Please do The Positron build video im gonna buy the parts but im nervous if i mess up if you can make a video on how to build it i would appreciate it =D
This was made a year ago chances are.of reading this is not goibg to happen...but just keep learning techniques other people building different pc's or try finding a picture or video of someone build with the same case but different parts
ImNormalNinja™ - NBA 2K15 - Arma 2 DayZ ok thanks man :D
I like that shirt Austin ;)
Thanks for this video helped a lot in making my own custom PC
Thanks. You made this seem so easy. Now it's my turn. First, I gotta save up money for the parts.
This I way I play on console, just plug in and play! lol Anyway I guess this video was helpful if I decide to do the switch. The video was nice and short compared to those 1 hour+ videos.
Noob.
lazy
Yep, I know the haters would have said something about this.
***** You can get your computer built for you for an extra $25
Wyvern Abstracts not here in Trinidad
I love the shirt ;)
Most helpful video on RUclips keep it up
Hey i wanna say thanks. if it wasnt for your video we wouldn't have figured out why my monitor wasnt displaying. you are the only one who ever mentioned the 4+4 connector. thank you thank you thank you.
Is this good enough?
CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz (Will be overclocking)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600
GPU: XFX Radeon R9 285 2GB Double Dissipation
PSU: Thermaltake 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Why would you need to overclock? 3.5Ghz is surely fast enough...
+theoryguy
He might need extra power if he's over clocking (depends on how much he's going to push his CPU and gpu)
(in my opinion) intel core is better than amd processors
***** But they do cost more! :D
You can't say "good enough"
Anything is good. Better than a piss 4 or a launch box 1
How much money would I need if I want to make a PC that can play fallout 4 with good specs and such.
I think I'll just stick to the ps4 version then.
Checkjaguar108 that guy is talking bs. For 600-800 dollars you should be able to play it on at least very high settings.
Fallout 4?? $600.
Lol don't listen to these guy, if you want medium settings, $400, high $500 and max will cost around &600-$700.(at 60+fps)
Definately, A pc to run those games at higher standards than the ps4 or xbox one should only cost about $400 or $300 at least. The prices i mentioned above and the quality settings can give you above 100 fps on all, but on high settings, a $400 pc can deliver excellent performance.
I almost broke my terabyte, and mother board and took me 2 hours for cable management but I did it. Gonna do some upgrades pretty soon! Thanks
took a second to realize the shirt your wearing but I love it!
Werent you in were the millers?
are my specs good?
intel core i5 4430
amd radeon r9 270x 2gb
500w corsair 50+ bronze
MSI B85M-G43
8GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X
For better performance you should upgrade your Power Supply.
Maybe...
lol...
trololo lol... :D
is brazzerz in 4K?
Thank you so much Austin! I built my first pc with this vid. :D
Thank you so much Austin, with your help I made my computer!
Like the breaking bad t-shirt
How is this $400 budget gaming PC?
CPU: AMD FX-6300
Motherboard: ASUS Micro ATX AM3+ DDR3
GPU: Either Sapphire Radeon 7750 or MSI N750 (radeon may be free from a friend)
PSU: EVGA 600W 80plus Bronze Certified
HDD: Western Digital Blue Cavier 1TB 7200RPM
Ram: Crucial 4GB DDR3 1600 MTs
It fucking sucks
The Doctor how?
I recommend this one :
CPU: Intel core i5 4460
Motherboard: Msi h81m-p33
Video card: MSI Gtx 750 TI
Ram: 2x2gb g skill 1600mhz
PSU: Corsair Cx600
HDD: Seagate barracuda 1tb
Case: Nzxt source 210 (black or white)
Total:
around $550 (but there doing specials on a few items so it should be around $500 after the codes are entered)
***** Thanks for the recommendation, but I definitely can't afford that xD
This is my first PC build so I want to start simple (at about $400
Also since it's my first build I have to get a monitor and a keyboard which bumps it over $500 D:
Thanks again though!
Ardency OK this one is alot cheaper (parts from newegg)
Case: DIYPC Dual fans case $24.99
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 - $44.99
Video card : His icooler 1gb gddr5 $68.99
cpu: intel pentium g3258 - $69.99
psu: evga 430w - $34.99
Ram: Crucial 4GB 1600mhz - $29.99
HDD: 320gb Seagate 7200rpm - $29.99
total: $300 ( i dont think you can get much cheaper then this)
quick, easy and helpful. Thanks!
This helped a lot. Thanks, bro!
omg he has a Los Pollos shirt. breaking bad fan?! xD
I think he is a breaking bad fan, because he has a Better Call Saul t-shirt too :)
Would love to be a PC gamer but i just dont really understand all the concepts & what to buy because i just dont want to waste alot of money on a PC that i dont really know how to use.
That's how I felt but in the end I knew what I was missing so I just went for it and I've never been happier.
Same
This has been in my watch later for 8 years…. 🤣 I’m just now looking at this haha.
This is the only tutorial that showed a text run thanks :D
Funny thing is, when I built my first PC, I watched this video to learn how, I almost fucked up by buying another motherboard. If it wasnt for Austin, I would know nothing about computer, I Owe Austin a lot.
Me too
Austin+ Technology= Life ♥️✌🏼️🇧🇪😎👏🏻
How did it
Go? I'm about it build my first gaming pc and I'm really nervous. Any tips? And how long did it take you?
+NoReAsOnGaMiNg That's me , do you have steam or hangouts
***** Its very easy, as long as you watched this video, you'll be fine. Might I ask, what is your budget and what specs did you go for?
+Zipping Basher I've already got the parts I'm just waiting. To build it Sunday! I will send you a list of my parts in October part picker in a sec
I want to get a gaming pc to play on high settings, maybe medium too but are these specs good enough
Graphics card- MSI Amd Radeon HD 7770 1GB GDDR5
CPU-AMD FX 6300
Ram- Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB
Motherboard- Msi Motherboard North Bridge Amd 970 and South Bridge AMD SB950 Chipset ATX DDR3 800 AMD AM3+
Power Supply - EVGA 500W 80PLUS
HDD - Segate Barracuda 500 GB
Case - Rosewill Atx Mid Tower galaxy 3
Do i need anything else so i could run at high settings and maybe ultra?
Was going to get a build like yours, i'd say its good for a med range pc.
what should i upgrade to play on high settings
trooprTV
Maybe an r9 270x or a r9 270 or maybe even a r9 280. If you want something better than the hd radeon 7770 then get a r7 260x or the r7 265
Thanks
is the HD RADEON 7950 3gb good?
Thanks Austin now I know how to build a custom pc in the future! :D
bro you're the man
thanks a lot for the awesome video (we like simple)
