Regarding the cheater thing: it’s usually that they only have fun if they win, and that need to win is so strong that they’ll cheat just to satisfy it. I remember hearing about a guy who _paid_ for his cheats and only played multiplayer games, and his mentality was just “I don’t care about anyone else, as long as I have my fun, it’s worth it.”
Also, I like how Alicia‘s online persona can be described as “battle gremlin.”

That’s very true even with people that don’t cheat that desire to win against another human can be so strong that they literally will do anything if it means they win and when people say oh it’s just a game it pisses them off because sometimes it’s not even about the win it’s about who they beat look at cod or gta most people don’t care about being killed but if the person that killed them has pissed them off they can’t just leave because it makes them feel and look weak so they stay in the game and waste their time with trolls and scumbags because they need that feeling of control over the people they hate and as an example there was a guy not so long ago that was banning random Xbox players on gta because he was upset that they were better than him or higher level or had more money basically the equivalent of a a child complaining that some kid at school has a more expensive toy than them and the thing is those types of people from what I’ve seen are actually somewhat ok people irl it’s almost only when their online and have to deal with people trying to take away the control they have over their character example people killing them multiple times people interfering with their objectives and basically anything that involves them making progress or having fun now I’m not defending the people that cheat and exploit online games but it’s basically the gamer equivalent of people resorting to violence irl if you keep pissing people off they are going to resort to cheating in games or getting violent irl

I don't cheat, never online, but when playing online games I tend to have 1 character setup that I am really good at, but I don't play with that best setup often because I find it more fun to experiment with weird shit. But if someone starts targeting me, shit talking me, and ruining my fun experimenting I will swap to my best setup and target the fuck out of them until my team wins or the person leaves.
I don't like playing super sweaty and meta but I will absolutely do so if annoyed enough.
@@gabrielhenson5751 same to an extent I’ve been on Xbox live for 14 years now and the only games I really play now are games like palworld or single player games the only multiplayer games I really play anymore are games like gang beast,kart racers like crash team racing or sonic team racing or rhythm games. I’m still good at things like cod and anything pvp related like anime fighting games but I’m tired of putting effort into things just to have it wasted because of some random douche bag I even have friends that think I’m a coward for not wanting to run around fighting random players in red dead or something yet those same friends refuse to 1v1 me

As someone who suffers from the paradox of being ass at FPS games but being a champion sharpshooter IRL, world of warships is kind of a guilty pleasure. It is so refreshing to play a game where strategy and foresight matters more than whether your right thumb twitches when you shoot at something

I agree with your take on cheating. I don’t play games to get the best stuff and beat people. I beat people so I can hopefully get the best stuff in the game. This is especially true in war thunder. I am pretty okay at the game. I’m at rank 2 in 5 factions for both tanks and planes. Yet, I am far from being incredible at the game. If I went into the high tier battles right now, after cheating in like modern vehicles, I would get laid out. So I play where I have fun, and work towards improving my armory with time.

They changed how try your luck works and so it’s now closer to a 50/50 whether you get a super container or not. Once you fill the bar up it’s guaranteed you will get a super container. It’s now viable at least seemingly to use try your luck because it fills the progression bar roughly 3 times faster than the other ways. By the way the people saying it’s a 3% chance are incorrect because of how they changed the loot box system.
