I got a whiny noise in my car. It goes away when my girlfriend gets out
I think this is a worldwide problem 😂
As a woman who does her own repairs this was one of the best videos I've seen on diagnostic and part explaination. Kudos to A1 for having a woman explain it. Great video thank you.

1A Auto is always good, but Sue is my fav, she always goes the extra mile to thoroughly explain things, she clearly understands cars inside out.
Pretty sure that bearing is a part of my problem today. This video helped visualize what’s going on behind the scenes. Thank you!
I am a biologist but you make me liking the mechanical engineering. Salute.
I'm learning the manual system and this has been the best video yet👍
The best explanation I've got so far. Clear, concise and informative. Got yourselves a subscriber henceforth.

+Dahntey 1 Thanks for the feedback!
A very clear & thorough lesson. Thank you!
Thanks for this clear and practical demonstration on the clutch system. Very helpful.
Hello I am impressed to see the demonstration and wonderful presentation of clutch systems. I started driving manual car after 22 years of automatic transmission. Your explanations have boosted my confidence and I realized how sensitive is to handle stick shift vehicles, by the way agreeing to your maintenance tips as myself is mechanical engineer too. God bless!

Great video!! , learned a lot
Well done! Thanks!
I replaced a clutch in a 1970 Mercury Capri 1600 (the Sexy European) in February of 1978 in my parent's unheated garage. The reinstallation of the transmission was, as I recall, the most difficult part of the procedure. The transmission was somewhat diminutive so I had the thing sitting on my chest. Lots of fun. There was a certain satisfaction to having performed the job myself. That was it, even though over the next four decades I had several vehicles with a manual transmission I never had to have a clutch replaced because I generally didn't hang on to vehicles for long. That 1970 Capri was a rolling testbed for every single thing which could go wrong with a car but I nursed it through its quirks until the unibody underside became too riddled with rust; decidedly unsexy!
Thanks, great info
Some mechanics down here in Africa Nigeria to be precise, can make you want to sale your car simply because of clutch problem, thank you as i learn about various car engine components and how they work either worn or good through your videos, 👍
Very well done
Very nice video. Thank you!!! 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎

Really enjoy all you're lots vids, very explanatory,, I have a problem with my car, when I'm driving and press the clutch down I get knocking( its got worse now)fud fud fud fud but when I re-release it (back into gear, it goes away,,, I originally thought it had something to do with stuts, suspension maybe even cv joints, but today I realised the clutch in symptom and now I'm not sure.. I do most work myself but don't know what's up with it... any advice would go along way,,,
Thanks. Clear video
This presentation is excellent.
I knew next to nothing about the clutch system. Now I feel like a mechanic!
One question; my clutch pedal has no resistance, I can just press it to the floor and can’t engage the gears. Gears engage when engine is off. 2005 VW Passat estate.
Looking at the helpful diagram in this video, it might be to do with the connection from pedal to master cylinder(?)
For sure try the clutch cable or it it's a new car it has a hydraulic clutch that might have the leak. Or just wear on the clutch cable. That's what provides the resistance. While ur there inspect the clutch fork for damage.
Amazing info thanks
Loody fantastic presentation.
In the UK we generally call it a THRUST bearing g..... but that is just translation.

Very helpful video
1A auto NEVER DISAPPOINTS
I was able to follow this video and enjoyed watching it. Would a bad clutch cause the car to stall/turn off while driving (braking/changing gears) ?
Great video thank you!! 🙏🙏 here is my question, my Camry has gone from 2-3 thousand revolutions to 3-4 thousand revolutions for normal acceleration. Would this be a clutch problem?? I just change the transmission fluid. No luck.
great video!!!
Great stuff, think I just need to adjust mine.
+Grammer Natcis' hair are you're christmas present; Thanks for checking us out. 1aauto.com
Great information 🙌
My GMAC 6400 clutch does nothing.
I start the engine, press on the cluch but don’t fell any thing and it goes right to the floor
Desn’t quick come back also.
Could it be electric?
Is there any electrical part in the whole system?
Tx! 🙏
the video is underrated
Thank you.
Sue, you are one of my favorites, but I love all of the 1AAuto crew! I am trying to help my brother, he has a 2008 Mini Cooper S and I think his clutch is bad. That burning smell (to me, a non professional) is a dead give away, but then I started thinking, "Maybe it's not as bad a a bad clutch"! I can put it into gear, but the car won't move at all and putting a clutch in a Mini is a daunting task! Pretty sure that I am not qualified to attempt that challenge!! Am I correct in my diagnosis for this issue?
Wow. Thank you for this Beautiful rendition of how to diagnose you’re messed up transmission clutch. This will be on repeat.
Great video! Is it bad to keep car in drive while at traffic stop? should I always put it in neutral?
Very good
Cleared to instruct children's at school.
great video love this
Jey
.she explains this well..i learned fast
what are the symptoms of loose clutch plate springs and hub?
Thanks 👍
I stripped the middle bolt out on my slave cylinder do you think this process would work for me? Good video btw
Any comments on cable-operated clutches that have pedal play or grab high and how to adjust them?
THANKS!
+Isaac Castillo Thanks for the feedback!
Great explanation to the clutch system. I have really bad shudder at bite point on 1st gear or reverse. Let say when I try to move the car from a stop really slow, I release the clutch slowly, the engine compartment shakes at bite point. On the other hand if I release the clutch more than the bite point, it doesn't shudder but car moves much faster which is not what I want. Could it be clutch related or engine mounts. My engine mounts probably needs replacement, but could a pressure plate warp and cause shudder. At higher speeds and gears there is no shudder or vibrations.
Sounds like you're not giving the engine enough gas, and it's trying to stall.
Nice!!
Any idea about this issue on my 2004 Impreza wagon manual, 156,000 miles? Clutch replaced 20,000 miles ago. Center Differential replaced 200 miles ago. Noise started after center diff replacement, about 100 miles later. Does not make noise in turns (except when coasting).
A mild clicking/tapping noise (sounds soft like playing card in bike spoke) is present when coasting in any gear, front main transaxle area (transmission). It varies in frequency and speed, according to the output shaft RPMs, and sometimes it's quieter or not there at all. It's probably a small piece of flat wire from a piece of seal that got away during clutch or center differential replacement. Doesn't seem to affect operations though. Does it about 80% of the time, but is not noticeable 50% of that time. It's quiet enough where talking, dirt roads, road noise, or any stereo masks it. Doesn't make the noise when it's under load...as in forward or reverse gears in play, clutch released.
Any ideas, other than debris in case?
Thanks!
Thank u
Hi great video. My problem is that at all times, the clutch pedal in my diesel bmw vibrates, the pedal moves all the time and judders. I changed the bearing but does the same. Any clue? Thanks
hi my gear is vibrating while slowly engaged after changing the clutch kit including bearing, the gear shift is getting harder like stuck to engage into 1st gear, is kind of resistant, have to shift to other gear and try engage again, sometime it doesn't work have to engage forcefully. what is going on here? it was smooth and no vibration before changing the clutch kit.
Hi there. When depressing the clutch pedal what exactly returns the clutch fork to its initial position? Is it the presure plate or is it another spring somewhere maybe the one on the slave cilinder? I am having a problem with my car, the clutch pedal stays in the depressed position (up) but when I try to press it, I simply can not, it is rock hard. I tryed moving the clutch fork with my hand and it moves up and down so the fork is not blocked or anything. Could it be a hidraulic jam somewhere? Have any ideas? Thank you!
I'd love for you to come put these men to shame who have looked at my truck who call themselves mechanics...you ma'am know what you're talking about
Hi there
I just bought a set of suspensiones and sway bars link and they're installed already on my car but would like to know if these parts are a very good quality cuz I'm about to order some more
Thank you for your purchase! These parts are high quality after market parts that are built to strict quality control standards and also built to the same specs as the OE parts. Feel free to call our customer service department if you have any questions. +Zuhar Zaqib
Are blue spots on the pressure plate inflatable is saying that the clutch should be replaced?
Hi are the clutch plate springs suposed to have little movement thanks
Every thing is new from the peddle to the flywheel and it feels like it's got a good peddle but it don't let the cluch release it's a S10 Chevy truck was a 4 speed I put a 5 speed in it but it just don't release the slave cylinder moves good
Clutch pedal was fine until it went straight to the floor the other day. Now it’s either fully depressed or I have to pull it back to normal position.
Fluid is fine. Where it should be. What might the issue be?
Very rich channel🌹

On the slave cylinder trying to bleed the system the plate that pushes in on the slave cylinder doesn't extend out fully.it only moves a quarter of an inch.
Hi are clutch plates suposed to make little noise when you shake them thanks
Hello wonder if you can help me I have a 2018 Ford Fiesta diesel six speed manual 11,000 miles every night after driving it round town for about an hour. The car starts to shudder when releasing the clutch in first gear or reverse. This happens all the time after an hour of driving. Any ideas what this could be please thank you
When I’m accelerating and I go to up shift, I get this scrape noise/feel in the clutch pedal when I push it in and the grind gets slower as the RPMs fall. Also when the car is off the shifter moves from gear to gear very smoothly but when the engine is on its a lot more notchy and clicky. You think it could be the TOB? Or pressure plate?
+NolanEnt We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I had my clutch replaced bc I lost pressure. Replaced The master and slave cylinder with oem. Replaced The line from the master and slave and I can only get a little pressure built and it goes away fast. Bled it a million times. The old clutch wasn't even bad. Any clue?
Excellentt.
Question please.
What if my clutch feels normal and perfectly flexible but there is no grab after shifting in gear. Nothing at all, every gear feels like a Neutral position
My car is a 2013 Chevy Camaro 6MT
Thanks to give me a lead if you have time or anybody reading this, please feel free to comment
I have an issue i have a Toyota Corolla IM 2017 23k miles
- I have no feeling in my clutch pedal
- it also has the weight of say an s10 pickup truck- which reviews on this car say how Light its clutch is...- but it lacks the confidence of a secure bite that the truck does.
it behaves like an on/off switch * i have adjusted the pedal all over the place.
like you might get a few mm of engagement gradient
the car cannot take off on idle alone
the bite point is miniscule and unforgiving- it can also be hard to grab it in a shift from 1-2 and 2-3
* however the clutch doesn't slip in gear, it makes no weird noises
nice
I have toyota conques 96 model 1300engen the whole engen vibrate when i release cluch what could be the promblem
