I've seen people complain that the valley on the lift is too tight, those people have developed a bad habit of relaxing into the backwall instead of pulling into it.
New riser, new cam, new cam mount, new limbs, better draw, better valley, legit 5fps minimum faster when shot at the same measured draw lengths and poundage than a P4/V3 series. The Lift is 100% a better bow than the last 8 years of Mathews offerings. It’s faster at the same draw lengths than every Hoyt I’ve tested this year, and on par with the Ethos from Elite (1fps to either bow over a chrono at the same specs), and only is behind the Core SR in performance. The PSE Mach 34 is still the best carbon bow on the market, especially with the S2 cams. A lot of good bows this year, but the Lift sits atop the ‘24 bows.
The other thing to consider is that with the lift, you’re getting a good set of strings, with the phase 4 you’re going to want to immediately change the strings out.
I went to my pro shop to try the 29.5 lift. I have a Mathews V3X 29. For me not enough to change. The bow was awesome but I would have to buy new fingers for my press and the leg stands are not compatible. So I would have to buy new ones. Considering I have a great bow already I can wait to see what Mathews comes up with next year. That will give me the time to budget the new mattress press fingers and decide if I want to sell my trusty V3X 29.
You can tell which draw cycle is smoother just based on what your mic is doing when you draw listen to it every time you try to rip the lift back vs when you rip the phase4
I went to upgrade from my Halon 32 fully expecting to buy a Lift. I shot a Phase 4 and Lift side by side and left with the Phase 4 and it was $400 cheaper.
Your mic position is better in this video. Don’t hear the tennis grunt as much. Thanks for the review. Would be good to see actual weights of the bows for comparison.
I completely agree and I can appreciate you pointing out that they’re pretty much comparable except your saving a half a pound I watched other videos that were really trying to talk the lift up like it was just head and shoulders a better bow think I’ll stick with my phase 4
I'd agree with the assessment. I think even the V3X is a 50/50 for an upgrade. But if you have a V3 or older, it's worth upgrading to get the bridge lock updates among all the other benefits mentioned.
I’d love to see a comparison of the Phase 4 33 vs Lift 33, particularly focusing on which holds on target better. You thought the Alpha x held on target noticeably better than the Lift 33, curious if the weight of the Phase 4 33 would hold better.
I shot them both side by side and walked out the bow shop with a phase 4 33 it just held better and i felt like I could hold it forever the lift was similar but it felt like as soon as I drew it back it wanted to take off the arrow So I shot then both alot more and chose the lift it's a mathews what else can I say and I'm coming from shooting a halon 32 for almost 5 or 6 years
Get yourself a used carbon hoyt, and you'll actually get the ibo speeds listed in the specs. And the same weight, without the chill on your hand that aluminum has in the cold.
If its cold enough for the aluminum to be cold you will have gloves on anyway. The temperature thing as far as carbon goes is , imo, just a plus thrown in there that really isnt a plus at all. Its not like your hand is grabbing the riser all day.
Yea, Ohio winter sux carrying a bare aluminum riser 3/4 mile to my stand. Love my rx8. A lot of times I hold my bow for the last half hr or whole hr before dark. Loved my rx7, now I love my rx8. I use my athens with the bare aluminum riser off and on in early season.
Just wondering, why are you not using the Matthews Axcel five pin site? Or the Matthews QAD ultra rest? And what do you think about stabilizing bars? Maybe a 12 inch upfront and a 10 inch with a Matthews V bar bridge lock?
Thanks for that info Very helpful because I went to buy a phase 4 2 months ago and was encouraged to wait for the new ones So I got home and looked on Mathew’s website and there was nothing about the Lift I couldn’t find any information at all Only the Title target bows So I called around and got no help I was anxious so I got a pretty decent deal on a phase 4 and it is a beast I’m walking on crutches so I can’t shoot much but I have already Robin Hooded one I have never done that in 35 years of shooting I’ve come close But I love it It shoots so smooth Plus they keep these new models in production for a couple of years anyway and what will they come up with next They keep improving

Yessir
except for the cracking limbs lol

Who says I’m getting a good set ? lol you funny immediately changing these rebranded zebras out too
Why are they bad i very curious seems I just bought a phase 4 2023 model new
@@sheerwillsurvival2064they’re not boujie enough for these morons. They kill deer just fine until you want to replace them.
😂 "Match Grade" trust me, they aren't.

Very aggressive draw backs, driving me crazy hearing that! 😅

the deals you can get on used phase 4s right now make it totally worth buying
My local shop is selling new phase 4's at $999, I still bought the LIFT
Phase 4 at my shop 975
Wow my shop is still trying to sell the phase 4 for 1399
Looks like it's time to change

Im about to buy a phase 4 and I was wondering what the difference is . Sounds like the iPhone company just tweeking small things

Gotta custom lift headed my way, very excited
The noise on the draw is the whisker biscuit folks.
Can you do a Mach 30 vs ?? I have yet seen a video with a Mach 30 vs anything.
Genuine question - did you check actual draw weight on the bows prior to speed test?
I can tell you the draw cycle on the Lift is way better than the P4… totally worth the upgrade if you have the funds
Just picked up the P4 for 850 at my local shop. I feel like I got a good deal.. just stuck on optics decision
I bought them both.......
The phase 4 seems easier to draw and to me on video it seems quiter
draw cycle sounds very rough
Great vid. i have a Phase 4... love it... I'll keep it!!!
Good review! Got my hat too!🤘🏾🏹
Why are you not speed testing with the integrated drop-away rest? Whisker biscuit is always going to slow the arrow down.
It’s a matter of maybe 3fps
The lift sounds horrible in the draw cycle. Is that just the mic picking it up or does it always sound like gears grinding?
Soooo, why do you think there was so much speed difference between the Phase 4 29 review a year ago and the Phase 4 29 in this video?

If i buy either bow and want a draw length of 30 fo i have tk pay??? And if yes shouldnt that be included ??
Heck yes, let’s go!
Gunna need to see you throw pse into the mix…

How do you manage to write that much content without using a single period? Wow.
What is the maim difference
Let’s be real they are basically the same other than the strings. If anything a super light bow hurts you in the pin float department.
I like the phase 4 better myself
what is that weird sound on the draw?
What release is that?
Got a hat love it 👍
I like the z7 and z7 xtreme better.
The phase 4 is much quieter on the draw cycle
Oh but its the 33
Hey daddy❤
People that get these free bows pushing, this junk on you
Not me lol I’ll give my honest opinion… I’ve turned down so many free bows for this exact reason
I really don’t care about a lighter bow, this this makes the bow weaker, especially the cams.
Don't dry fire it or use it for a crutch, and that doesn't mean anything.
1st!!!
Mathews is not going to like you for this .lol
Everyone in the comments completely ignoring the same speeds out of the Phase 4.
The majority of comments I've read are a minimum 5-7 fps faster. Idk personally.
