Another wonderfull pen Stef. A beautifull pattern quite unique what a gorgious pen keep up the great work
Thanks Jack, yes a lovely pen and pattern.
I was hoping you would show this pen. Thanks. It is beautiful.
Glad you like it Darold. Thanks for watching.
Dear stef
Awsome Pen
Thank you for watching Mukarram.
I own this pen and the fibre tip version as well, they belonged to my grandma, who only ever used purple. The fountain pen is a little disheveled, it was used a lot. Any tips for refurbishing it?
Hi Alice, i have lots of "how to" videos that may help. Good look.
What a stunning finish!
And I love the fact that you just had a Waterman C/F box 'lying around'.
Incidentally, the pronunciation of moiré is 'Mwaray'. Not an easy one. Comes via French from the same Arabic root as mohair, funnily enough.
Yes it is rather nice. I have lots of empty pen boxes waiting for pens so its nice to pair them up. Thanks for the pronunciation.
Stunning pattern! I've only ever seen one of those for sale on the Swedish site Tradera where most of the fountain pen action goes around here. And that was, like you said, corroded all over those side stripes along the grip section.
This one is available Gert if your looking for one. Thanks for watching.
@@grandmiapens Hehe, I'll pass on this one. I have been sitting with a spreadsheet organising my collection and looking up the date of purchase and price of all the pens I own. Started this as an active hobby in autumn 2016. Apparently I just reached 30 pens and I was a bit chocked seeing the sum I've spent in pens since then... And that excluded postage, inks and notebooks.
So yeah... I think I'll hold back a little now.
Back to filling my spreadsheet with more details about the pens! Narrowing down date of production and finding codes for finishes...
No problem Gert. Yes it can get a little expensive when we are collecting pens, but as long as you enjoy them the thats fine. Good luck.
Stef,
Thanks for another great video, what a beautiful Waterman pen, the swirl pattern is mesmerizing. Keep up the great work, and stay safe.
Glad you enjoyed it Joaquin, yes the pattern is lovely on this pen. Thanks for watching as always.
Oh no!! Another CF!! 😱
I can now laugh off those previous haunting days!
Ha ha, yes another C/F. Thanks for watching as always.
Do you know if it is possible to disassemble this pen? Today I received a pen identical to the one in the video from Ebay, mine is silver plated with a moiré pattern. It doesn't write. I soaked it in hot water and a little soap, I think it will work ... but I always prefer to take them apart. I'm afraid this model cannot be disassembled. Thank you in advance
I would always recommend you buy a fully serviced model, but on Ebay you pay your money and take a chance. They are very fragile so i would not recomend you try to work on the pen. Thanks
@@grandmiapens After half a day in hot water and a drop of dish soap, the pen started working perfectly again. I paid €60 for it all inclusive. It's not a very high price, nor is it a low one. I took this pen after much research, I wanted an article free of corrosion at the junction point between the nib and the curved line of black plastic, 80% of the CFs in circulation have corrosion at that point, it is a classic defect of the CF. Many CF lovers in fact they never immerse the nib in the ink to avoid corrosion. About to the "full serviced" for sale, they are not always honest. There is now a CF for sale which costs 120 euros and has a corroded nib.
Yes just try to keep soaking the pen and hope for the best. It is a common problem with this pen as you say the corrosion. Most are not honest and would not have a clue how to service a pen, so next time pay a little extra and buy from a reputable dealer. Ebay is a false economy. I have a few of these pens some with the corrrosion and some not. Good luck.
Beautiful pen Stef but you wouldn't consider it to be a workhorse kind of fountain pen would you.
I think more of a special occaision pen, but i suppose it depends who you ask. Thanks
