It's a total myth that the seeds hold the most heat. The fact is they hold ZERO heat all. The heat is all in the placenta. Johnny Scoville explains this on his channel and I've also heard Ed Curry of the Pucker Butt chili empire say the same. Love the channel mate.

eating one while i watch this video! i consider myself a seasoned chillihead,
been eating superhots and extracts for year, my capsaicin tolerance has gotten pretty darn high!
and gotta say this curry was up there with the hottest things i've ever eaten,
it isn't a supermarket gimmick, this thing is FIRE!

I can confirm, but it depends on the day for me. I love vindaloos, tindaloos, phaals etc and not just for the heat, but the interplay of flavours too. This bad boy can seem mild if I build my chilli tolerance up, but burn my mouth out if I let it slide and eat proper English food for a while. Buyer beware lol.

I tried one of these a while back. I love my spicy food but this very nearly overwhelmed me. After a few mouthfuls the heat definitely took over. I finished it but it took me a good 20 or 30 minutes and copious amounts of milk to get through it. 😆
My stomach wasn't too impressed though. 😬

Dilute with milk or yoghurt for better results. Finely chopped spices tend to stick to the tongue and water doesn't wash it away. Dairy products sort of "gloop" over the affected surface and carry the spices with them.

So I bought another couple, and the 2nd time wasn't as bad. Vindaloos and Phalls tasted like Korma at that point. I didn't have third one for a few months and it was just as bad as the first time. It's got a low- medium heat nothing crazy but the grilled peppers and onion chunkyness got me. Something just tastes amazing about grilled peppers chicken and other bits of veg in a curry sauce. If you like heat ask for chili fried rice. It's amazing if done well!

Good video. 2 things though, first the hottest part of the chilli being the seeds is actually a fallacy, it is actually the white membrane (placenta) inside the chilli that contains the most capsaicin. The second thing is that the large red chilli isn't actually a Carolina reaper as they are small and misshaped, this is probably something like a Aleppo.

Top tips I always add some fresh chopped coriander to these supermarkets curries and sometimes a pinch of garam masala for more authenticity and it gets me halfway there to restaurant quality without having to pay a £10 for the privilege of a sore ring piece in the morning 😂😂😂 Try these with a minty yoghurt raita and don't forget to pop the wet wipes in the freezer for an hour or 2 😂😉😆

Just found this review,I actually like these, but the could do with being less watery in sauce but yes not for the faint hearted for sure, they usually do a scarily spicy pizza around Halloween and bonfire night, very similar heat value. Be proud you got through yours tho

wonder how long it is before they bring a dish with the new hottest chilli in called the dragons breath, it has a Scoville rating of 3mil compared to the 1.64 of the reaper

I love your Podcast 🤗 We’re you really able to eat the Carolina Reaper curry? (All of it). I love hot Curries and bought the Carolina Reaper curry from Iceland. Inedible!! You must have an asbestos lined mouth 🤯

I thought I had quite a high spice tolerance! I'm partial to a madras, vindaloo, tindaloo or phaal, but this Iceland Carolina Reaper curry is on another planet compared to anything I've ever eaten before! This thing is absolutely relentless.
