Hi everyone. Some of you may be wondering why I didn't score this restaurant. It was mostly because I was so focused on the Phaal challenge for this review however I would definitely recommend giving Mughal Dynasty a go. if you wish to skip to the Phaal Challenge, it is at the 9 minute mark. This video has been heavily requested for a while now so I thought it was only right to finally brave it out. Hope you all enjoy the video!
It was the tapping of the feet under the table and the whimpering that had me giggling. I am like that with a Madras. You should never eat food that fights back. This restaurant about a mile from my house and I have driven past it often. Thanks for the review. Will have to visit.
Came up randomly on my feed and started watching and 2 minutes in was just taken by how considerate and decent a bloke Gary is. Worried about other customers, anxious about the challenge. No big headed boasts or swagger just a guy who obviously has a passion for his subject, an attention to detail to his video and is a really interesting guy with an engaging personality. I for one learned a lot from this and won’t be going near a Phaal with the Madras long established as my limit. If however I am in Maidstone will certainly visit the Mughal Dynasty. Great stuff.
Water is the worst thing to drink when eating an extremely hot curry, it makes it hotter on your tongue. Yoghurt or milk is what you need… Keep up the great work Gary…
@@GaryEats I read your comment before I got to that bit, but now it makes perfect sense! It's so relatable though. We have all had one of those hot curry moments.
Whenever I'm feeling a bit down, I pop back here to rewatch the phal, the bit where Gary whimpers and his lil feet drum on the floor cheers me up every time...cheers, Gary
Can't deny Gary, when you took the first mouthful and after a few seconds I could hear your feet making a running sound under the table, that cracked me up! 😂😂😂

Yes, I agree with you and by the way I love Indian cuisine always ordering a side of vindaloo sauce but will never ever order a phall after just one mouthful of a friends 35 years ago.
Loved your honesty with this one ! Like the way you respected the restaurant with the previous dishes, which you obviously loved. Another great video Gary 😀

Thanks for giving us all a good laugh, Gary. I was concerned for a couple of seconds when I saw you start shaking, but then the giggles took over 😂. You never let anyone down, though, as I wouldn't have got past the first mouthful. Well done!
Hi Gary, 1st time viewer and as a bit of a chilli head myself I actually think you did really well to eat as much as you did. Spicy food is all about tolerance, the more you eat the higher your tolerance becomes so the key is to start at a level you can manage and then over time increase the spiciness. Some of the spiciest dishes when you are able to handle them are actually really very tasty! My point is is don't avoid them just because at this moment they are way too spicy for you, build up to them, honestly you won't regret it! Kudos fella!
You don’t only get a tolerance, you get a dependency for spice. I think that your body becomes used to the effects of the spice, so you start to get the heart rate and metabolism boost in anticipation of eating. When you don’t actually get the spice hit, your meal isn’t as satisfying as it otherwise would be.
@@King-Kazma my body has never adapted, especially my digestive system, though I continue to eat extremely spicy things. Once you realise you're not going to die, you become addicted to the rush.

New to the channel and I have to say I was in tears with laughter. The food looked so nice but that Phaal looked evil. Bet you put the loo paper in the fridge before you used it. Cool the ring of fire when needed. Great review, very, very funny. Can't believe you managed to eat so much of the Phaal. Got to say that Laziz looked amazing as well. Need to try that. Great review as always Gary and the food looked fab however in regards to the phall It’s beyond me why anyone would want to do this to themselves ? Please don’t feel that you let us down, you’ve probably saved 1000’s from doing it to themselves.
Hi thanks for following 🎉but could you send me you bank details and I'll arrange a subscription so you can carry on enjoying and helping the channel grow 😊
Phaal, you nutcase! My old mate Gus, who was a flight navigator during the war in Afghanistan, reckoned as well, no problem. His already big head grew even larger and redder. THEN we saw the disclaimer, (which he had signed). 'This meal could lead to excessive blood pressure and/or heart failure!'
My new favourite video ... Respectful of the restaurant but you have balls taking on that challenge......im glad your cameraman (son?) and staff enjoyed your experience....keep up the great reviews , regards John.

What I love about you Gary is that softly spoken, honest approach ….. and I really mean honest approach. I really want to try (or avoid) places you go to, especially as you relatively local to me. Other RUclipsrs doing the same should take note, after 5 minutes of them talking about their car, girlfriend or whatever can be entertaining (though often tiresome) the real deal, is going to a recommended restaurant, trying suggested/different dishes and making a judged appraisal. Well done sir.
You didn't let us down mate, you did very well. I am pretty sure I couldn't manage a Phaal these days. I say these days because back in the 90's I worked for an Indian taxi company here in the UK driving a 16 seater minibus on a Friday and Saturday nights. At the end of the shift at about 5am, the other drivers would all get meals from the local Indian take away. Now and again, the boss would order a super hot one for me as a joke because I told them I liked 'Asian Style' curries. Regardless of how hot it was I would eat it and try my hardest not to cringe. Back in the good old days. Tell you what though Gary, if you think that Phaal was hot now, wait till tomorrow morning when you sit on that pot. I bet that was equally as fun...........
I had this, decades ago. The staff told me not to have it, but I played the 'big man', and went ahead. The following morning, was so painful and sore, when it came out red. Never again. Who knows what it does to one's inside.
If you're eating spicy food and struggle with the burn, don't drink water, water just moves the Capsaicin around instead of neutralizing it, drink milk, it'll do the job properly.
@@GaryEats Anytime! I do love spicy food myself but don't always respond well if it's hotter than I expect. My face gets all red and I start sweating lmao.
A long time ago was with a few friends and we all decided to order a phall. The waiter looked puzzled and said, "Phall is only for drunks and madmen, which one are you"!!!
@@alanholgate3442 I agree....if it gets too much, drink mint raita with it. I usually use Warsteiner though. I actually enjoy the ring sting the next day....central heating for the botty!!!! 🤣🤣

Sorry for watching and commenting on aged videos; however, I just recently discovered your channel and find I can't get enough. Keep up the great work!

Hahaha I love your videos Gary. I have only just come across your channel, but have been binge watching ever since.... Would love to see you come to Australia one-day and review some Melbourne eateries
Hi Gary. Having recently discovered your channel I am now catching up with some of your past vids. As a curry lover, this grabbed my interest, and I have to say you did a fantastic job! To eat more than a couple of mouthfuls was a great achievement - I love a hot curry, but madras/jalfrezi would normally be my limit. I did try some phaal sauce at our local Indian, and it actually made me feel quite light-headed! Bit late now, but something that would have helped would have been an Indian yoghurt drink (Lassi) rather than all that water, which can actually make the burning worse. One final thing - next time try asking for a Chicken Tarka. It's similar to Tikka, only otter... 😆
"It's not too bad". Famous last words, mate xxx.

Keep up the great work.
Hello and thank you for subscribing, watching and commenting it’s very much appreciated, unbelievably I was ok in the morning which I couldn’t believe, hopefully see you on the next one tonight
@@mattsandilands6380 To release the endorphin Dragon.
You need to get out more if you were Im tears of laughter mate
I just had to show this to my wife she cracked up laughing as well.. brilliant review as always.. thanks again Gary ❤❤❤
Thank you Dave I’m pleased you both enjoyed x
Oh Gary! Hilarious! Well done for having a go!
Thank you for watching and commenting
My new favorite food content creator . Really well done..ive watched nearly all of these already 👏
That is very kind to say Dean, thank you very much, I really appreciate you watching and commenting
@GaryEats not at all Gary..im a retired chef and can only bear the creators that love food more than themselves 😂
Good God, I can’t believe you actually managed as much of the phaal as you did!
I gave it a go
That bill really makes a mockery of the £37 fish and chips, in quantity and quality.
Amateur mistake to eat the Phaal with water. Every mouthful gets progressively worse. Needed a cream/milk based drink. Lassi always goes down a treat.
I know now Dave 🥵🥵
👆good advice
or sugar
I always (and have always told people this) it's like trying to put a fire out by pouring petrol on it, does nothing but spread the burn
Yoghurt and banana works well
Phaal, you nutcase!
My old mate Gus, who was a flight navigator during the war in Afghanistan, reckoned as well, no problem. His already big head grew even larger and redder. THEN we saw the disclaimer, (which he had signed). 'This meal could lead to excessive blood pressure and/or heart failure!'
This was awful lol
My new favourite video ... Respectful of the restaurant but you have balls taking on that challenge......im glad your cameraman (son?) and staff enjoyed your experience....keep up the great reviews , regards John.
Thank you very much, John. This was a bit silly but it was a bit of fun.
"It's not too bad!"
2 seconds later:
"😶🤯🤯🤯"
Hahaha
Famous last words!
Great job Gary, would say you nailed that.
Food looks delicious & reasonably priced for that meal.
Thank you and I totally agree 👍
How many seconds from Its not too bad to Oh my god 😅 i burdt out laughing Gary
It was about 15 seconds, blew my head off lol 😂
Me too, just saying to myself `give it a few seconds` and then `Oh My God`. I burst out laughing .
Gary…started watching you a few weeks ago….now I’m watching everyday & have subscribed….
However!! Due to watching this upload my Mrs & I are now eating a Curry on a Monday night at 9pm?!! What have you done
Keep up the good work…you’re a likeable guy and I’m enjoying your videos
Merry Christmas
Kev
Thank you very much, Kev. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas as well.
That’s very kind thank you and so much appreciated, have a great weekend 👌😊
Thank you, that's very kind. It was so so spicy wow
Thank you very much for the information
@@GaryEats Anytime! I do love spicy food myself but don't always respond well if it's hotter than I expect. My face gets all red and I start sweating lmao.
Gary i could watch your content all the time mate. You're just a really happy and lovely man. Hope you keep it up, sending you lots of best wishes 🙂
That is very kind to say thank you very much
A long time ago was with a few friends and we all decided to order a phall. The waiter looked puzzled and said, "Phall is only for drunks and madmen, which one are you"!!!
Lol!!
I'm usually both 🤣🤣
@@I_hunt_idiotspour all rice in and eat the lot with naan bread piece of piss lovely 😅😅
@@alanholgate3442 I agree....if it gets too much, drink mint raita with it. I usually use Warsteiner though. I actually enjoy the ring sting the next day....central heating for the botty!!!! 🤣🤣
@@I_hunt_idiots it never gets too much for me I dont get ring sting no more I can eat hottest food going not a problem mate 😂😂
09:50 As someone that llikes things hot I can say quite confidently... NO WATER! Ask for milk, water only makes it worse by activating more capciasen...
Thank you very much for the advice
Joghurt or a Salt lassi only...no water!!!!!
That's what I was going to say. Especially Ice water! Milk or a warm drink is better
Toilet roll in the freezer for this one !
Definitely Andy lol
😂😂
it all looked tasty including the Phall .. good effort and great show
That’s very kind to say, thank you very much
Schoolboy error is ice water .. you need riata , yogurt or milk
Or maybe just order a korma
Thanks 🙏
Used to live in Maidstone
Loved it but it’s changed so much
Shout out from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you very much for watching all the way from Australia 🇦🇺
Oh Gary your such a trooper, well done you🎉 what a great review.
I wasn’t laughing thats for sure, I think you are so brave taking on this review, and as usual so well presented, love to listen to your description of the food you make me think I’m there as usual.
Keep up the great work you make my day 😍😍
Now tell the truth, Sue, you did laugh a little bit, this was simply too hot and I was a bit of a Muppet 🌹❤️🌹🥵🥵🥵
When you said "it's not too bad", all I could think about was the famous scene in Only Fools and Horses with the chandeliers, where Del boy looks and says "Brace yourself" just before things take a dive.
Im watching this again Gary 2nd time around is even better than the 1st time😂😂 im actually howling at your suffering as your face goes redder and redder with each bite I do apologise. One of the funniest reviews ive ever seen on youtube..
You clearly like to see me suffer Joseph 😂😂
❤ love your choice have not had since 1970 unable to get in Australia
That’s very kind to say thank you very much, John
Only recently started watching Gary so I'm now doing some older videos. This one was so funny! I could almost feel the pain as Gary attemped to eat it all. Great effort and we certainly weren't let down!
Glad you enjoyed it Stuart thank you
God bless. Love your content. Taking it for the team.
That’s very kind
It was a great effort! The Phaal is really hot, I've done it once but never again! You got further than most people would have done!
Thank you very much, but it was too spicy 🥵
Oh Gary, I rewatched this after watching the video with Greeno having the hot curry. Honestly I was absolutely cracking up again watching this, I had tears running down my cheeks ! Bloody good on you though for doing these and I don’t blame you for not doing anymore ! Thanks Gary! 😊
Stick to Vindaloo Gary🤣. Perhaps a review of a couple of spots on The Curry Mile in Manchester; kind of a bucket list trip for me that I suspect I'll not get to. Would love to see you review a couple of their well known spots for Vindaloo. Sorry for watching and commenting on aged videos; however, I just recently discovered your channel and find I can't get enough. Keep up the great work!
That is on my list to do next year, so thank you very much
Oh dear I can't wait to see 😮nicely presented I have only had Indian food once only...
Don’t try the hot one lol 😂
Dairy for spice something about the protein attaches to your taste buds or something along them lines. Maybe some ice cream or a cheesecake would be a good option.
That was an incredibly entertaining review - I hated to see you suffering, but you know what you were getting yourself into! No doubt you're a much braver man than me... Always love watching your reviews from afar (Australia) and it's great to watch an absolute 'natural' on camera with an honest food review. Keep doing what your doing! Cheers, Wayne.
I was absolutely stupid for doing this one, the words never again springs to mind, but I bet I will do it because I’m stupid, I hope you have a great weekend, Wayne
Wow!! You've put some timber on!!! Love your work sir.
Thank you very much and yes, I have
Gary, my wife and I are watching this, and seriously we are not laughing at you, we are pissing ourselves.
Keep up the good work 😂😂😂😂
I’m really pleased you enjoyed this one. I’m not sure I did. 🥵🥵🥵😂😂
Sorry Gary, but laughing my head off at this one "Not too bad" LOL, and the guys from the restaurant hilarious...
Best make this a new Ticktock challenge LOL
Thankfully, I can laugh now, Andrew, but only just it’s about six months later 🥵🥵😂😂😂
Hahaha I love your videos Gary. I have only just come across your channel, but have been binge watching ever since.... Would love to see you come to Australia one-day and review some Melbourne eateries
Thank you very much, Gary and I have to say I would love to come to Australia and Melbourne one day
@@GaryEats just don't come whilst the ashes are on, losing 5-0 would leave a bad taste in your mouth 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely crying here😂😂😂😂😂Funniest thing I’ve ever seen on RUclips… Love you Gary…😅😅😅
I think that is very kind to say, I’m pleased you enjoyed the video, I’m not sure I enjoyed the hot curry 🥵🥵🥵😂😂😂
Fair play to you!! I like that you tried the other food first, a true gentleman!!
I think that was on,y right 👍
Keep going lad, ive been in stiches 😂 watching you do this challenge, good on ya
Legend! Thanks Phil
Food here looks excellent, very nicely presented! You were brave tackling the phall. It looked painful. 🙂
I agree with you the food was very good, but as you know that Phall was just too hot 🥵
Great video Gary, really enjoyed the journey with you! 😂😂😂
I’m not sure I enjoyed this one 😂😂🥵🥵🥵
Top tip ...for pain relief in the morning "Twister lollies" can be used great effect if screwed in the correct direction
😂😂😂
Very brave of you Gary, having said that I’m sorry but this was me the minute you started eating the phal this was me 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I have to say this was a silly challenge, but a bit of fun. Thank you for your comment. Thank you for watching and thank you for the joke at the end.
Hi Gary, I asked previous if you could visit "The Cinnamon Club" in Westminster London had a great meal there whilst in London recently.
It is on the list for the future John
Excellent effort Gary ,it was very fun watching 😂 didn't think you was going to eat much so well done 👍
I’m pleased you enjoyed this one Simon for me. I’m not so sure it was much fun. 🥵🥵🥵😂
the most dangerous part of eating a phaal is when you think you have broken wind, but if it feels rather warm, check your pants lololol
That was very funny, thank you very much
Ahh the old follow through
The phaalow through 😂
