    This was by far the best interview that came from this tour, by a very wide margin. Very technical questions, well prepared, and even they were impressed which is understandable. It's too bad that it had to be a bit shorter, I imagine there were many other questions that couldn't get answered, but hey, they clearly liked you guys, no doubt they'll keep inviting you over for these. he basically said there that he didn't picked to do XVI because it was more about the company and fans asked of him/the company

    These are some of the best interview questions among the many across this media tour. These are very personal questions that we as fans of CBU3 really needed. When it comes to products, most people forget the authors and creators that poured their soul into making said product, and so we never dive into the interpersonal dynamic of the individuals and team that worked tirelessly to make something like this.
    I really wish I was a fly on the wall during the development of the game and watch these masters weave their craft, and i'd probably have valued that experience more than playing the actual game itself.

Just listening to the JP dub and seeing how different the script is, it's no surprise they spent 8 hours a day on it going line to line with the scenario writer. I have been a diehard FF fan since the very early 90's. To fans that been around through these 30 so years, who would've known FF would become one of the biggest franchises in gaming history and remain this strong. Friends use to crack jokes(all love) about the turn base combat and kiddy body sizes in FFVII etc. I would picture Final Fantasy as this cinematic action game with a super large realistic dark world and heavy seas etc(and as a kid, I would sometimes reenact it lol). Now it's 2023, I'm fully knowledgeable of Square as well as enix, and when it comes to this RUclips content, FF Union is definitely Top Tier. Every time Yoshi talks about how he wants to do things and how things are ran and planned, it just shows how much of a great leader he is. The plans are so simple yet super organized and easy to follow. And the amount of confidence he has and his team seems to have in them is so visible as well. And you can see it in the FF16 and in FF14 as well. We get super consistent content drops in FF14 and when he has trouble delivering, the guy literally breaks down and cries apologizing on camera. And we see it now in FF16, with the fact that the game went gold a while ago, and has a shit ton of time of polishing and the fact that they aren't planning a day 1 patch. We see the results of Yoshi's leadership all over FF16 and 14. I mean, I'm kinda "glazing" here, but it's true. And I think a huge portion is also on the team under him that is fully capable on delivering on Yoshi's plans and pretty much always do. Like with the FF14 dev team, you can see how much they enjoy working on the game with the things they add into it that Yoshi didn't even plan on doing.

    • @idminister
      @idminister Год назад

      problem is FF11 is still using ps2 coding, and it has a peculariar architecture compared to most computers.
      There is a independent-fan vana'diel remaster project but it encountered the limitation of only being able to have a finite number of zones remastered at a time.
      to put it simply: a resmaster of FF11 would required remaking the code for the game. And that is a major investment. And it is, as yoshida has stated, unwise for a company to have multiple games that compete with each other. XIV doesnt function in VR, because of how aoe dodging works, and it doesnt work on mobile, meaning a remake of XI would need to be focused around either of those. but currently the VR market is too small, to justify a remake as XI is large and alot to it. [IMO VR is a better fit for XI than mobile, but $$$.]
      The FFXI R project for mobile with nexon, did exist, but has fallen thru. Which is good, considering nexon was involved.

    @dandandan8686 Год назад +1

    What I'm most curious about and would love to ask koji fox is why do the Japanese and American FFXVI trailers differ so much in content? I know the main claim is that the script was adapted into English as a primary source, but it originated from the minds of Japanese people, so I assume there's no way you can try to convince me that this came out in English, in fact it was adapted to English in a more radical way than usual, bringing the VAs in English first to sound more natural. But still, when you see content creators like Audrey Aitai kimochi clearly saying that there are differences, and sometimes stark ones, between Japanese and English scripts, I start to laugh, because it seems that the discourse that "the two languages were well-adapted and blablabla" is essentially not true. What most people are doing is swallowing this information without chewing and without even caring what the Japanese trailers and materials say, because Japanese is the "secondary" language, only this game was created from minds , people, Japanese people.
    Lastly, what I'd like to ask them is... are there 2 FFXVIs, one American and one Japanese? The American adapts to western sensibilities and the Japanese is the usual typical "jrpg"?

    • @dafire9634
      @dafire9634 Год назад

      I think this could be a situation similar to other popular japanese games simply because english is limited in some ways,

      I believe they are “rephrasing” rather than mere “rewording”, both are completely different. While "rewording" primarily focuses on changing specific words or sentence structures while maintaining the essence of the content, "rephrasing" can involve broader modifications to convey the same message using different sentence structures, vocabulary, or expressions. The freedom of “rephrasing” the Japanese language to English is what makes the transition “loosely” and often may “appears” in contrast, while in fact they are still the same.

In japanese you will have a reveal and in english you have to discover. That is my point, but we will see in full game. Every time this happens and the japanese stuff clarify everything, i have 37 years old, i saw this so much times.....! Even in ffxiv we have some differences about characters personality... well, whatever.

    So these are the guys that has made final fantasy not resemble a final fantasy game while ruining a franchise and running off all the fans who have supported them for decades

      No, just because it not turn based doesn't mean it not final fantasy 😂

      No. Fucking imagine saying that shit about the team that saved XIV and brought thousands upon thousands of new fans into the franchise. Absolutely braindead take.

      To answer your question, No, these aren't those guys. That's the imaginary people feeding you coupium in your head since you didn't get your beloved turned based game lol
      These are the guys that saved the Final Fantasy franchise from financially collapsing. You may have heard of their award winning, highly acclaimed NON TURNBASED GAME: FFXIV.

      These are the guys that made the most Final Fantasy game of all time that FF creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has been playing and tweeting about every single day for the last 2 years. These are the guys whose same most Final Fantasy game ever have kept the series financially viable for the many years now, ensuring that people will still actually continue to get FF games.

    @15:34. That's funny. Just a few days ago, there where news saying they've talked to different platform holders, making deals, cus they want to pick just ONE. And that must have happened way before the development... and now he's saying they've considered PS4 DURING the development? Was there even a possible scenario to drop PS5 and go Xbox ONLY?
    Like you believe SE will ever drop PS? This is a 360era BS tbh. Yes, we've received money and support and we are going to release game on Xbox 1st BUT, we are going to tell Famitsu and fans, to get the "complete version" from PSStore. This guy is a typical 恩義マン tbh.

      what are you even on about, FF16 was announced when PS5 still new and PS4 still relevant. No there was never consideration to add Xbox like no fucking way a company would release it dead console especially in JP.

      Yeah, and SE was talking about they had to go around asking for deals cus they just want to focus on either PS5 or XSX|S.
      Do you know, FF and DQ are dead in Japan?
      Kids don't know those 2 IPs no more. Most newbies who come to our studio (I'm a lead game programmer in one of the AAA publishers) have never played a FF or DQ.
      And do you know why most Japanese 3rd-p had to go PC in 2013 and now also to Xbox? Have you ever wondered, why SE is the only one walking opposite direction?

      I'll give you some numbers.
      FF15 was released in 2016 NOV in Japan. Its price had dropped to 5980jpy during that Christmas, and retails had 300k physical copies on the shelves no body wants. It was then bundled in 2017 "lucky bag" spring sales, same treatment as the JoJo-no-body-wants game. And 8 months after release, price had dropped to 2000jpy.
      Survey shows, Japanese kids today don't know what's FF&DQ anymore. They play Minecraft, Fortnite, Apex, COD, FIFA and Nintendo games.
      The development took 8+ years with 300 people involved. It eventually reached 8+m copies (shipment?) world wide. But that was around 2019. Roughly at the same time, director got fired, and DLC got canned.
      They hired a lotta foreigners (it was an English-main studio, they even have onsite translators), trying to create something on par or better than foreign engines.
      They lost a lotta money on this tbh.
