I’ve been keeping up with Ben’s interviews. He’s such a great guy, so genuine and honest. Passionate. I’m so excited to hear his performance once I get my hands on the game.
After watching streams of the demo, its clear how the EN voice acting quality is so much higher in this game (even better than FF7 Remake, which isn’t terrible but pales in comparison). Bonus points for casting Ralph Ineson as Cid for this game, too.
I’m so glad they actually cast English voice actors for this game. It gets so boring hearing every character have an American accent. FF12 did a great job mixing up the voice cast. This is going to be epic!
CBU3 really nailed it with the English voice acting. The voice actors in FFXIV really helped elevate the emotions portrayed in each of every voiced cutscenes...minus ARR lol. One of team's best decision in that game was to change from US to EU imo and they managed to grab the best voice actors for each characters too
1:34 Describing Clive in one word and that is Love is so accurately touching! 12:41 It's amusing how Ben was 'second choice' but got main role just like how Clive the first born didn't get the blessing but is the main character! We haven't even played the game yet, but you can feel how passionate and loving Ben is to Final Fantasy and how much it means to him to play Clive as the Protagonist of FFXVI. The amount I heard from "Revenge Clive'' was outstanding, I cannot wait to hear the emotional Clive when they said putting an emotional Clive in the trailers wouldn't excite people for it, they needed an explosive set piece with likewise performance from the VA to make people hyped. If that was Clive during his big, monumental moments, I can't wait to hear his emotional, sad state in the game. 23 days left, its so close.
I love how Ben is so passionate to talk about playing Clive. I am looking forward to playing the game. Thank you for this video and giving more insight into Clive.
"self-conquest is the greatest of all victories. mighty is he who conquers himself" - bruce lee what better way to demonstrate such by taking on a role you're scared of, only to turn around and approach it from the responsibility of "i'm going to be an introduction to this series for some people" Ben really stepped up to match the inhuman pedigree and vision of CBU3 great interview
The storytelling has truly been taken to ANOTHER LEVEL with this title, in the writing and performances of the characters. Beyond any doubt. They match with the gameplay, the music and cinematic-style in a harmonious and immaculate attention to detail. The immersion transcends the intensity of the what, the why, the how... We have so much to be grateful for.
I love how transparent they’ve been throughout the entire media tour, like they didn’t need to tell us they had another actor for Clive and Ben was second choice but they did and I appreciate that. 😊
Ben and Clive are already making me tear up and I haven't even played the game! Love all three of these amazing people, and the rest of the people who made this game. I cannot wait to play. Only 5 more weeks!
I can sense Ben is able to make Clive so alive and meaningful as he looks poured everything he has when voice acting. Really looking forward to play FFXVI, and see if what I feel will still in the same way as Ben’s
The thing they seem so much emotional when talking of this character and their own feelings over their work on it is really reasonating in me. These people love their job. You have certainly done well. I can't wait to get on this rollercoaster ;))❤
Apparently the lead writer Maehiro said that he strongly believes he will never write a character better than Clive Rosfield, his magnum opus. An unbelievable statement but one I am more than keen to determine for myself come late June!!
I finished the game about a week ago. There isn't many games that give me this kind of satisfaction after completing the game and addiction to the world and the story. Enjoyed every moment of my 80 hour playthrough! This game was a spectacle! Voice acting was the best I have seen in videogames and i've been a gamer like 30 years! 🤓 Clive, Jill, Cid, Benedikta, Dion, Gav etc... So many great and memorable characters and voice actors! Soken did it again with the music and Eikon battles blew my mind with all the epicness! I started my Final Fantasy journey about 15 years ago with FFX and have played all the games after that one and still playing FFXIV. FFXVI is my new favorite and Clive easily my favorite main protagonist, you were great Ben! Thanks Yoshi-P, Koji and whole crew, the game was a masterpiece! Definitely the game of the year for me! 🏆
I didn't expect this to come, but I'm thankful. June 22nd needs to arrive, I'm ready to experience the epic tale of Clive and his stunning combat. I wouldn't like to admit how many times I've watched the official Final Fantasy XVI videos. Yes, I would love to play Final Fantasy XIV with Ben Starr. No matter what, I'll always have room for him in my team. Let's go!
The small amount we’ve heard from Ben Starr’s performance as Clive Rosfield has been insanely riveting. Honestly, with Takahashi-san’s design, Maehiro-san’s writing, Koji-Fox’s localisation, Starr’s performance, Yoshida and Takai-san’s visions, Soken-san’s beautiful scores and the rest of CBUIII that worked tirelessly on bringing the character to life on a technical level, I sincerely believe Clive will be an Eikonic character who will stand proud amongst the legacy of this franchise. June 22, I’ll be there no matter what.
About 11:10, i fell in love with this series after playing FFXIV, which made me then play FFVIIR and FFIV. With the amount of love and care CBU3 surely put on FFXVI, i'm sure it will also attract many new fans that will get excited, laugh and cry while experiencing these great games. I can't wait for FFXVI.

I'm so excited, thankyou Ben for sharing your thoughts and experiences on how it felt to play this character, looking forward the world and all it's characters.
Clive and Cid had hands down the best voice actors of 16, competing with other fantastic voice actors also giving it their heart and soul. Hugo absolutely sells the weight and gravitas of his character, Barnabas sells his nihilism, Benedicta sells her authority...
I simply LOVED this game! It’s definitely my Game of the Year so far; Ben and the rest of the team did a phenomenal job. Every aspect of this game was as fire as Ifrit 🔥
I literally cannot wait to see Clive and how he develops across the years. Ben sounds like he has embodied so much of the character by this point, and that just bodes so well for his performance. Clive sounds like one of the most three dimensional heroes we've gotten in the FF series, and I have a feeling FFXVI has the potential to be devastatingly heartbreaking. Obsession for revenge while simultaneously "battling with himself" IMHO can't end well. (Plus, Yoshi-P and Kazutoyo Maehiro are in control... I have cried SO MANY TEARS in FFXIV so far!)
Crazy to believe that this game has been in development for eight years. The hard work that must’ve been put into it. Congratulations everyone. I can’t wait to play it. The last final fantasy I played through was final fantasy 8 and final fantasy X-2.

It’s been years since i’m this excited for an upcoming game release. It’s so great that we can relate & understand the main character beforehand to be more immersive & invested to his ideals. Can’t wait for June 22th!
What Ben said "everyday I would walk into the booth and I thought I was going to get fired" and "I thought I was gonna turn up and you guys were gonna be like "here is the entire story of FINAL FANTASY XVI, read it, oh and by the way you're fired."" 10:17-10:34 😭💔 I'm happy he voiced Clive after all. The way Ben describes Clive Rosfield in one word as LOVE. 1:35-1:37 That felt so right and made me love Clive even more. 😭💞
Yoshi-P looks ELATED to hear Clive--- I mean Ben speaking right next to him.
I’ve been keeping up with Ben’s interviews. He’s such a great guy, so genuine and honest. Passionate.
I’m so excited to hear his performance once I get my hands on the game.
Sounds like FF16 was a real passion project. I just cannot wait.
Watching this after finishing the game, what superb voice acting, can't wait to see his future roles!
Looks like Clive was in great hands :) cant wait to see the performance
One of team's best decision in that game was to change from US to EU imo and they managed to grab the best voice actors for each characters too
Absolutely. It gives the characters gravitas
1:34 Describing Clive in one word and that is Love is so accurately touching!
12:41 It's amusing how Ben was 'second choice' but got main role just like how Clive the first born didn't get the blessing but is the main character! It was meant to be like Koji said!
Just played the demo and I'm seriously excited!
Ben's voice acting is amazing, I got chills! Logan Hannan who voices Joshua did in A Plague Tale and I absolutely his acting!
As an XIV player I'm super excited with everyone involved!
Music, design and story! And of course I love the swearing, thanks Koji haha!
I hope this game launches well for sure. It's always fun to see the devs behind a game come together with the cast. More of these please!
This was actually really awesome.
I came back to this video and played and finished Fine Fantasy XVI and I got to say Ben you did a breathtaking performance on Clive, Every second and moment in the game I felt every emotion and decision that Clive has either felt or made, I felt as if I went to Valisthea and escaped reality, I’m currently working on a new game plus file and I’m going to continue making many more save files to come, And I plan to share this game with my family for many generations to come, So thank you Ben, Koji, And Yoshi-P for making this amazing Journey for all of us, And thank you Ben for making my favorite character of all time😁👍, Clive Rosfield/ Ben I want to tell you that your performance is legendary and don’t let anyone else tell you either wise, From a Reaper of Eorzea and now massive fan of Clive, Thank you thank you thank you, And Keep up the great work😁
it makes me so happy how much Ben clearly cares about Clive and the game as a whole. they're all very confident about this one and that makes me even more excited to finally play it when it drops
Ben Starr is a treasure and we should all likespect him.
In Ben We Trust! 🎉
"self-conquest is the greatest of all victories. mighty is he who conquers himself" - bruce lee
what better way to demonstrate such by taking on a role you're scared of, only to turn around and approach it from the responsibility of "i'm going to be an introduction to this series for some people"
Ben really stepped up to match the inhuman pedigree and vision of CBU3
great interview
I’m tearing up just looking at them tearing up about tearing up while working on this game! Can’t wait!
I could listen to these guys talk about the game for hours. Legends.
So much care was put into making Final Fantasy XVI. I am deeply emotionally connected that it is not funny. Thank you all for your undying efforts.
Really, if they ever gonna do a FF16 tv series, they will cast Ben as Clive, he even looks like him
The way he sounds just gives me a Warrior of Light mixed with Berserk vibes. Can’t wait to play this masterpiece!
This was such a wonderfull chat between wonderfull people Can't wait for 16 !!
Wonderful
@@omensoffate oops sorry excuse my nonenglishness plz
That is so cool Ben Starr is already a FF fan/player! =)
Final Fantasy VIII to be precise
Man i can't stop smiling whenever saw Yoshi-P and Koji Fox In One Screen
The storytelling has truly been taken to ANOTHER LEVEL with this title, in the writing and performances of the characters. Beyond any doubt. They match with the gameplay, the music and cinematic-style in a harmonious and immaculate attention to detail. The immersion transcends the intensity of the what, the why, the how... We have so much to be grateful for.
I love how transparent they’ve been throughout the entire media tour, like they didn’t need to tell us they had another actor for Clive and Ben was second choice but they did and I appreciate that. 😊
I love this, I cannot wait to go on this adventure into this game. Great video and thank you for putting this out there
Can't wait to play as clive
I absolutely cannot wait to go on this Journey.
Just watching this gave me such chills. I’m so excited for this!!
Just heard him in the demo, and he's insanely good.
They should make a spin-off called CliveAlive
@@Jenema2 😆 good idea
The thing they seem so much emotional when talking of this character and their own feelings over their work on it is really reasonating in me. These people love their job. You have certainly done well. I can't wait to get on this rollercoaster ;))❤
Apparently the lead writer Maehiro said that he strongly believes he will never write a character better than Clive Rosfield, his magnum opus. An unbelievable statement but one I am more than keen to determine for myself come late June!!
@@ZephyrK_ Same. I heard that too. I think the game will be 100% one of the best FF ever.
Koji nodding and smiling at Clive’s humor… we’re gonna get Koji puns for sure.
Let's go!
A really lovely interview. Also love that he's going to get back into xiv!
I just cannoooooooot wait for this game
Awesome Video
Hopefully we get to see some performance. Haven't seen much yet
Ha, Eikonic - I see what you did there
Ooooh don't forget Soken-san
All geniuses. The game is at least going to be a 9/10 minimum
I just have one thing to say : COME TO ME IFRIT !!!!
Wonderful interview
Coming back to the video, after playing and finishing the whole game/story, I can say one thing: You guys nailed it! 1000% with the interview and the game, story, characters! Kudos!
Watching this post-pax panel and knowing what they are referring to is so great to see. thay did such a fantastic job!
I'm so excited, thankyou Ben for sharing your thoughts and experiences on how it felt to play this character, looking forward the world and all it's characters.
Just realised that the voice actor Ben Starr is from Bristol, England the same as me. That's awesome!
Absolutely awesome. What an awesome role to land, too! I bet this will do wonders for his career. Great talent, love the passion!
