RULES

2. Until everyone except Steiner is dead, the only action all characters can take is to knock themselves out. Steiner may attack other characters.
3. Chocobo hot and cold may only be used to gain items that are already available through other means
4. No hacks or glitches.
5. If Steiner dies, the game must be reset.

Confused about how you got a level 63 steiner but got to excalibur 2 in 10.5 hours? Does x3 speed not speed up game clock or something?
One of my favorite elements of FFIX is the relationship between Steiner and Vivi. They become good friends, with Steiner like an older brother or guardian, and the game reflects this with game mechanics in the form of the team up elemental sword skills. I always love when game mechanics reflect the narrative.
That mystic quest music was a blast from the past.
With the Blood sword, I think you can use Minus Strike to heal off the damage Beatrix does with Shock and deal it back to her. Of course, that would entail surviving Shock in the first place, but theoretically, she generally swings hard enough to take herself out a few turns early. She's only got like 5300 HP or so...

Beatrix was playable in the now-shitcanned mobile game Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia with her full moveset plus a few extras, like a super attack where she does a cool pose with Steiner while Rose of May plays in the background before giving the bad guys a big ol' magical whack with her sword. I miss DFFOO 😢

Love the "Who?" title for fighting Necron. He's always confused me. I get that he's the arbiter of the world or some shit, but his actual battle could have been a Super Trance Kuja battle, where he absorbs the power of Trance from the other 4 members you're not using.

I solo'd this with everyone and Tiamat is, and will always be, a pain in the ass.
Also, I never knew there's a save point right after, because it's so hidden.
BTW, is there no way to get a Reflect Ring in Disc 4? It makes Lich much easier. Also, with proper timing, you can revive yourself when under Doom status. Throw a Phoenix Down at yourself once you're close to zero.
Oh and at least you went back for Excalibur 2.

You know they say that all men are created equal, but you look at me and you look at Samoa Joe and you can see that statement is not true. See, normally if you go one on one with another wrestler, you got a 50/50 chance of winning. But I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, at beat me. Then you add Kurt Angle to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the 3 way at Sacrifice, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because Kurt Angle KNOWS he can't beat me and he's not even gonna try!
So Samoa Joe, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. See Joe, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice.

The impressive thing to me is that you got to Excalibur 2 on a single character. That’s a hard item to get bc you have to get there within 12 hours. Nicely don’t.
Man. Disc 2 would be so much better if you were able to get Running Shoes early in the game.
Chocobo Hot & Cold is about the only way to get Early game Items.
i no this info may be a little late bud but steiner/frog gets ability called Chemist doubles effect of items which can get if u spent time getting the madain's Ring in the connecting tunnels from qu's marsh to outer continent

Dude, you should do a Legend of Legia run, that game is way too underrated.
If he does he should use the Pal version, the North American release had its difficulty increased to kind of absurd levels when it was localized.

@@clukinvar Yeah, the enemies in NA Legaia all have their stats increased by a bunch, money drops are halved and exp gains are about 1.5 times higher in Pal and the original JP than in NA. Reminds me of Working Designs localizations where they did things like make healing spells cost 500% more MP in the NA version than in JP in an old Sega CD RPG called Vay, among their other stat-editing atrocities that they called "balancing".

The speed up function speeds up the game but not the timer.

I was thinking it's so hard to go without the healers. Like ff4, I can't even imagine going without Rosa, especially on the moon... And Steiner does make that comment when he and Garnet are traveling how he wouldn't have made it without her Cure spells. BUT THIS TIME HE DID!
