I've only just stumbled upon CHURCHES .. Oh my gosh .. I instantly was hooked to their sound . one of the best bands around at the moment in my opinion .
I completely retract my comment... after listening to this about 10 more times, it is now one of my favourite songs, it has genuinely and seriously grown on me massively!
This beat is fucking awesome. I wish on the album those stuttered vocal parts and toms at 1:23 were as loud and powerful as they are on this live version.
Can't help but smile watching this cutie sing, she has such a presence. This one in particular reminds me of the band Jakalope, which isn't by any means a bad thing.
Matthew T. Feske , MA I agree.. she is very much like Natalie Portman in appearance. This song is probably my favorite of theirs next to "Now is not the time".
Actually "a mind full of questions" is referred to the "science" and "a current to purify" is referred to the "visions" science and visions which is pretty awesome love the song btw!
Creo que es la unica banda en todo el milenio que ha revivido ese estilo synth originario de los early 80s .. sus melodias, sus sonidos me hacen pensar en yazoo, krafwerkt, depeche mode, the assembly, etc
I can totally see what you meant, there's an effortlessness about her voice that seems almost "everyday," but that's what draws you in as the song builds more and more awesomeness. :)
Don't feel bad, man. The first time I heard "The Mother We Share" on the radio, I'll admit I wasn't sure how I felt about her voice either. But after hearing it a couple more times it grew on me, and now I'm hooked on this band. They're all I've been listening to for the past few days :3
Listening to this song on high volume with a decent pair of headphones is intense.
Agreed.
Fast.
I’m seeing Chvrches live this Saturday. I really hope they play Science/Visions!
Agreed. High volume and headphones are gamechangers with this track!
Best song off their album
So true.
Makes me sad the second album had nothing like this on it :(
This sounds like it was lifted straight from the soundtrack of a cyberpunk movie. I love it :D
This is from "The 100" 💛 - Netflix
@@thelongestjourney5459 This is from their album. Which was used in the show years later
Love the way she says "a current to purify"
LOL I thought it was just me
Still hits. Can't believe it's a 10yr old song. One of my favorite songs from Chvrches.
Her voice is hauntingly beautiful
Beautiful scottish accent coming through. I love the style of this song and will definitely be listening to more of this band.
I can imagine this song backing fight scenes in Mass Effect :)
Weirdly, I did have it playing many a time when I was fighting in ME!
+LeftHandedGuitarist Here's to hoping for Andromeda
I found this cause they used it on the show The 100. Season 5 episode 1. She drives through a deserted earth. Fits it perfectly.
@@EdwardBIl and rip haha
I love how Lauren went from being like 👉👈during the hardest chorus ever to spinning around, owning the stage on every concert in the sickest outfits
her accent is so present in this song especially!
she´s a dream
+erick lobato Her voice is :)
Such a great live band. Chvrches sounds just as good live as they do on their albums!
Love this side of Chvrches so much, it blew my mind when they played this live earlier this year after all this time.
Real human sound...
best shy performance EVEERR (L)
Definitely their best song. Wish it was longer.
this is the best track by Chvrches by far, it's dark, yet full of some obscured hope and positivity
Ok, I'm a CHVRCHES fan now.
Exactly what I was just telling myself.
Holy snap, that was amazing! Best synth band since the 80's. Trust me, I was there.
Good lord she's beautiful.
Chvrches and Purity Ring are my hope in this kind of music, love both projects
Love me some Purity Ring:)
Lauren is a natural singer
Came here after Episode 5x01 of 'The 100'
Same here :P Gotta say I like it
@@djaevulens Ye, me too
Me too
Yup
Ayeee, here after a rewatch of The 100.
So good. From the start they got it 🎯
Should be in the next Tron movie
reminds me Depeche Mode.
and me somehow... MIranda Sex Garden
I love it when her Scottish accent comes through, as when she sings "now" and "down". *swoon*
Please listen to this really loudly. It's amazing.
I've only just stumbled upon CHURCHES .. Oh my gosh .. I instantly was hooked to their sound . one of the best bands around at the moment in my opinion .
I've read over 500 books and that is still one of my favorites. Read it over 20 years ago.
My favorite song on the album...next to lies
Definitely my favorite song by Chvrches, and this live performance is spectacular.
This band rocks!!!!
Man, this song is so amazing. I love how her accent comes through at times. And that beat is infectious.
I completely retract my comment... after listening to this about 10 more times, it is now one of my favourite songs, it has genuinely and seriously grown on me massively!
Just saw them Friday night in Seattle. This is my new favorite song now. So much better live, The beats along with their light show....Awesome!!!
Aw bless, she's well nervous! They are awesome!
This is the song that got me Hooked.
A currrrrrrrrrrent to puuuuuuuurrrrifyyyyyyyyyyyy

классная песня и певица такая милая)
chvrches one of my favorite bands . people that havnt listened to her songs and watched her perform are missing out
CSI brought me here!!! what amazing discover!!
This still goes so hard at the end of 2024.
Fell in love with her... Again...
This song is heavily underrated
Fabulous!
Most captivating song they've done.
Lauren is so poetic - "I mind full of questions, a current to purify......
She has Senator Amidala hotness to her.. basically a frank 10 in my book
Matthew T. Feske , MA I agree.. she is very much like Natalie Portman in appearance. This song is probably my favorite of theirs next to "Now is not the time".
Those songs are great but have you listened to Tether?
***** Yes...Tether is also great. They tweeted that they are going to start working on their next album in January.
Actually "a mind full of questions" is referred to the "science" and "a current to purify" is referred to the "visions" science and visions which is pretty awesome love the song btw!
At the concert yesterday, she said their album will be out in September.
This gives off cyberpunk vibes :))
REALLY UNDERRATED
This did surprise me during watching CSI
This is the best performance of this song that I have seen!
She does that several times in other youtube clips. That nervous look makes her even cuter and totally drives me crazy.
Creo que es la unica banda en todo el milenio que ha revivido ese estilo synth originario de los early 80s .. sus melodias, sus sonidos me hacen pensar en yazoo, krafwerkt, depeche mode, the assembly, etc
6 ears already, but still as amazing as the first time i heard it
I can totally see what you meant, there's an effortlessness about her voice that seems almost "everyday," but that's what draws you in as the song builds more and more awesomeness. :)
I just love this track. The vocals, the harmony, the music. Can't stop listening.
i completely agree. it builds up in such an intense, but elegant way. it's my favorite thing by them.
I love, love, love this band. Can't wait to see them live.
Here from the100. Love it 💯
Isso é bom demais♡♡♡Essa é a banda que eu mais amo. A Lauren é muito linda
A CURRENT TO PURIFY!!!!!!!!!
Don't feel bad, man. The first time I heard "The Mother We Share" on the radio, I'll admit I wasn't sure how I felt about her voice either. But after hearing it a couple more times it grew on me, and now I'm hooked on this band. They're all I've been listening to for the past few days :3
My favourite Chvrches song, can’t wait to hear Love is Dead.
It's a sound of music n voice sounds in electric wave... cheers chuvies
They sounds pretty damn good live.
she is sooooo cute
loving this band's sound and hope they produce a lot over the coming years :-)
Take on current music?
I could see this track on the New Battle Angel Alita movie soundtrack. Definitely a Cyberpunk feel to it.
This is sick. I can't wait for their album, whenever it may come.
Holy shit yes! Just got done reading that book; both sent chills down my spine. For that reason they go perfect together.
this is a real band. all members sing. reminds me of m83. i cant stop listening. her vocals, the music, good stuff
This song is my favorite Chvrches track by far. Even more so than "Recover". Can't wait to see them at The Echo on Tuesday!
Amazing vocals, this band should go far, her accent is flawless.
Even if she wouldn't be, does it matter? Their music is awesome and lyrics makes sense!
I cant believe she's 25.. she so cute (and beautiful of course). Shes a great singer...
0:35 and I already have goosebumps ^^ Awesome women tho, perfect voice
saw these guys live last night and they were absolutely amazing! this song was a highlight!
She's an Angel !
I need a studio version right now. Or at least a new single from them. I keep coming back to this.
Anyone here from the 100?
#The100 (s5ep1) Brilliant episode this is going to be a sick season
When you are truly yourself you will succumb to a permanence. love it
i would love to see them live!! love their music
She has a beautiful voice. And shes pretty as well!:)
Clark brings me here... Next level show 100...
I miss this version of Chvrches, Laruen's voice is just so much better here and she's clearly so nervous.
Most exciting new band in the last ten years!
It's like some kind of summoning ritual, it's super epic.
This song is mindblowing.
Pure class!!
her voice is perfect
jesus i love them. I need MORE!
Fav new band. All electro and voices.
01:42 Beginning of the best part
Haunting, very Bjork-esque. Love it, these guys deserve to go far!
Their first two tracks (Lies and Mother We Share) plu their latest one (Gun) I absolutely loved. Something was lost on the EP for me.
Loving the 80's influence in their music.
