- Glasgow synth-pop outfit CHVRCHES give a rare live performance of “Wonderland” in the Moog Sound Lab. “This is one of the few songs from the new album that we haven’t played live in any context and we wanted to do something special for the MSL performance...”, says Chvrches front woman Lauren Mayberry. “I think this will probably be the only place a live version of Wonderland will exist…”
Chvrches synthesize their re-imaging of “Wonderland” using a Moog One, Subsequent 37, and DFAM - composing the spontaneous analog arrangement on the spot in the Moog Sound Lab.

"Wonderland" is an underrated gem from CHV3, and this version is just as lovely in its own right. Well done!
The One sounds almost like a Juno 106 in this. Love the 80s pop synth vibe. Love Lauren Mayberry's voice, too.

Frankly, the One can sound like anything you want. There's so much synthesis power in there (not to mention a whole Eventide FX section)
One word comes to mind when i think of her voice... effortless.
For me everthing CHVRCHES does is gold whether that be a cover or an accoustic version or recreating a song and making it sound different but still so good like Wonderland here

I think this performance may have been my introduction to Chvrches. Hearing the album version w/the big booming in the chorus kind of throws me off as a result. This version would be a great single IMO. Great use of the Moog Sound Lab.
Downloaded this and turned it into an m4a so I could upload it too my Apple Music account and tagged it onto Love is Dead as a 14th track. :)
Every single time I see these guys perform live, whether it's recorded or in person, I'm always incredibly impressed.

When I saw CHVRCHES the second time, I think this was the only song they didn't play off CHV3 which made me so sad, as ii into Wonderland is the best part to me. It's all good, as they're the ones who pick... But gosh this is adorable!

When I am feeling sad perhaps after hearing a terrific but deeply moving song. I come back to this track and feel that life after all can be okay. I am now 60 never believing when I was young that I would live beyond 21 because I would I would have killed myself for one reason or another. I do not know if that is perseverance over intelligence. But when I hear songs like this I am glad I survive.
