Let’s just take a moment to appreciate Wade. He puts so much time into these videos. Very informational. Thanks so much. Hope you are having a good weekend. 🥂
Thank you Asia! I appreciate that. Please feel free to share! Love you being here. Thanks so much. :)
I support all your videos because you give accurate information. Specially cause I been making candles for several years now.
Thank you Edgar! I appreciate that sir!
Thank you soooo much I’ve learned so much from your videos. I started making candles for myself after realizing how much money I was spending on them.
😆 I think that is the reason 50% or more have started. :) And thank you very much for the feedback. 😁
It looks so easy when you do it! Thank you. I learn a lot from these video's!!!
😁 no problem!
Wade, I appreciate everything you do such as these videos and all of the info you pass along in the forums.
Thanks man!
Beautiful colors.
Thank you!
I always try to avoid getting wzx on my wooden wicks, but watching you for some reason helps me see why it would actually work. Thank you sir.
Yes, I intentionally pour over them. Never let me down so far! :)
Great video, as usual. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to helping others.
Thanks Suzi! You're welcome.
Fun Video! I wanted to say Congratulations on 9,000 subscribers- I know you are going to break 10,000 soon but the little victories matter too. 🎈✨👌😉
Absolutely! Thank you Ruby! :)
Thank you once again! I am learning so much from your videos :)

Love your videos, so very informative 😀
Thanks! :)
Great product shots at the end of the video. Thank you again for sharing. From Janet
Thanks Janet!
Love the info. I have wooden wicks and I've been searching for a vessel to use
😁
to say Hi There! I'm busy getting soap and products ready for a eastern and Mother's Day! I'll do candles closer to the date. How about you? Are you preparing anything special?
Jill Gross
Not at the moment. Playing catchup . I have so much going on I am getting behind. 😩
Nice, I love them. How can I take pictures looking like those bro.? I just started making candles about a month now and I would like some insight on how can get my business off the ground with sales. I just opened my Etsy shop as well and would like some advice from a pro like you. Thanks a lot.
Beautiful Video Wade!! Can you please tell me how much FO you use in all your candles or is there certain candles that you use certain Fragrance Loads? Thanks so much.
It varies. These are all 9%. I'm usually between 7 and 9
@@BlackTieBarn Thanks sooo much for responding
Question, I’m using 6006 with a .3/.05 wood wick in a 3.75 diameter tin. I’m getting some black smoke and I’m wondering if I may have too high of a percentage of fragrance oil. This particular scent is fruit loops at 9% load. Hot throw is great
Possibly. But wood wicks can soot sometimes in general anyway.. its a piece of wood burning so avoiding soot all the time is nearly impossible. You could try lowering the FO a but but not sure how much it will help. 6006 can soot a lot as well if not wicked perfectly, or with certain FOs. Try a wider wick as well.
Thank you where can we buy tumblers like these
There are a few places that sell them, like Candle Science. But Google white straight sided tumblers and you may find other places as well. :)
Hi, Wade. Where do you get Clarus 3022?
Directly from manufacturer... Clarus Speciality Products. You can email brad@clarussp.com if you want. They are probably being affected by wax shortages a bit too though. Not sure.
How much should you trim your wood wick? Same as cotton
Woodwicks are usually between 1/8 and 1/4. I would test both and see which you prefer.:)
Are you purposefully pour the melted wax over the wooden wicks? If so, what’s the reason? Thanks!
The rest of the wick is covered in the wax, so yes... just to the first couple burns consistent with the rest. :) That's the only real reason. Probably minimal effect but doesn't hurt. :)
@@BlackTieBarn I was going to ask the same question, thank you!
Wick sourcing. I have only found 2 suppliers. Wooden wick and lone star. Do you have any other suggestions. I’ve tried both and aren’t 100% sold with either for different reasons, but maybe you have more options? I’m doing math and 95% of the way, but just wanted to ask. Thanks!
Try Candle Science, The Flaming Candle. Natures Garden. :)
Hey Wade,
Are you not obliged to mention woodenwick co on the candle because of the patent they have on the wooden wick?
That's what they told me when I asked them how it works with the patent
Yes, you should somewhere on label or warning unless some other arrangement had been made. Particularly if the woodwicks are truly from them. Most are.
Are these Libby tumblers from CS?
I think so. 😆 I have many from many places but yes I believe these were.:)
@@BlackTieBarn thanks Wade!
If a candle with a wooden wick flickers does that mean the wick it to large? To much FO?
Hey Brittany. Wooddn wicks flicker sometimes, it's normal. As long as not going wild and throwing soot everywhere. :)
Hey there!! Can I add 464 to 6006 you think?
For sure! Just be sure to test your results of course! :)
Where do you get the wax from?
This wax comes from Clarus Specialty Products. But, the process would be similar for others as well. Wicking would be biggest difference. :)
Who makes your labels?
I design them and have them printed from a couple places. Lightning labels and others are local. :)
Thank you for the video. Why did you use para soy wask not clear 100% soy wask? And what is FO?
I'm not a fan of only soy. I prefer blends for better results and consistency. FO means Fragrance oil. :)
@@BlackTieBarn Waid, it is very interesting recipe. In Russia as I see most of candlemaker use just 100% soy or coconut wax. Maybe because it’s easier or maybe I’not so long in this area. Could you please tell the container size? It’s 250 ml?
And fir me it’s a mystery wear we can find in Russia u/v inhibitor. I’v just seen it at American sites. Will try to find and test your recepie🙂
Hi , I noticed when you were pouring the wax it was getting on the wick. Doesn't that leave waxy residue when it dries. Was it intentional? If so what's the benefit of that?
Intentional. The rest of the wick is covered in wax too (because it's in the wax obviously). So I do this so the wick is consistent throughout. In my experience this has always worked better. :)
@@BlackTieBarn oh okay, I never thought about it that way, but it does make sense! Thank you : )
@@LFly2011 No problem! :)
I’m wanting to make wax melts for a raffle that my family are doing as a charity event and I would love to contribute. I don’t have a business resulting not having a business address. I am fully aware that a company/business address is needed for CLP stickers, I was wondering what I can do to get around not having an address to go on my CLP labels.
Some use a PO box.
Do you have a website? you could list thst as well
How can i calculating how much wax i need
A simple way is to just choose your jar, fil it with wax. Let it harden up. And weigh it both empty and with wax. The difference is how much wax you need for that jar.
I have a question -- what is the cure time for 6006? For 4627?
Varies... depends on climate, humidity etc. I give all candles areas a couple days (even paraffin like 4627). But as a general rule. I give parsoys 3 days to a week. And soy up to 2 weeks. There isn't much hard evidence either way but that has always worked well for me. :)
Thank you for that!!! Im waiting on my order so I can test. I use 464 and have good results but some batches are so iffy and i need more consistency
please help me i love your videos. I love wood wicks and i love paraffin wax can they work together or should i re think
please help me. i use sasol 6213
You can use wood wicks with paraffin for sure. I currently only using them with parasoy myself for now. Thanks!
@@BlackTieBarn thank you it all hard work testing but I love candles. I love you videos thank you 😊
😁
