Yeah he really caught a lot of crap in Hit Parader for saying "We don't need to bite heads off of bats and spit blood. We just sing and play our instruments "...
always said the same. They always rode on Rush's coat tails when they were in my opinion as good for sure, well they were always an Under rated trio but not in my mind,,the very best. Amazing vocals with Rick and Gil and Rick is just a animal on the guitar. Seen them in 1980 in Maple Leaf Gardens New Years Eve. I was on first row floors. When Mike Levine hit the first cord on his base I thought my body was literally gonna explode.
I second Fight The Good Fight. And don't forget about Spellbound, When The Lights Go Down, Follow Your Heart, World Of Fantasy, Say Goodbye, Just A Game, and Movin' On.
The bass player, Mike Levine is an under rated musician and a driving force in everything Triumph. This band put on a mind blowing live show. I wish the less than 30 something’s could have live music experiences like we did back in the 70’s and 80’s.
I feel so bad for the 30's and under. Going to a concert for them is a big investment. Where as a teenager of the 80's I went to 3 to 4 shows a week on a part-time job.
Triumph is probably the most underrated bands of the 80's! Rick Emmett is a great guitarist and his voice is insanely high! Check out Triumph at the US festival in 1983 singing Fight the Good Fight, you'll absolutely be blown away by how high he gets! Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite high school bands 1980-1984!
You have to react to Triumph live versions in Halifax,Nova Scotia. Rik Emmett is second to none in vocals and guitar! He is by far the best live than anyone else in his genre! "Fight the good fight" would be off the chart for you guys!
Triumph is truly an underrated band. Still sounds great 40 years later!! Check out "All the Way", "A World of Fantasy", and "Somebody's Out There". BTW, the lead singer's name is Rik Emmett, a proud Canadian!
"World of Fantasy" was the first song I heard from Triumph and till this day is still my favorite! 🤘😀🤘 Hope they can react to that song in the future along with other great songs like "Fight The Good Fight" "Never Surrender" "Say Goodbye"
Yes another great Canadian Band.🇨🇦 This song is from their 5th studio album produced in 1981.It reached Number 23 on the Billboard Chart. It's a story told about a 9 year old lying in her bed with her transistor radio hoping her requested song will be played. Just a great rockin tune, with great instrumentation and great vocals. After "Lay it on the Line" and "Hold On" this song really launched Triumph's popularity in the US. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Where did you get that she's 9 years old? Did that come from someone in the band? I would have thought that's a little young to be wild and wanting to be free. Seems like more of a teenage thing.
So many Great Canadian Musicians....so far they heard Triumph - Rush - April Wine - Brian Adams - Lover boy - Celine Dion - Alanis Morissette - BTO - The Guess Who - Shania Twain - Aldo Nova ....many more to come!!

Fight the Good Fight is my favorite Triumph song. It still sounds great when I hear it from time to time. The message of the song is positive, still puts a smile on my face, and still stirs the same emotions it did 40 years ago.
Having grown up near the Canadian border, we were exposed to a lot of these Canadian rock bands. There were many great ones in the 70s and 80s. Triumph is amazing. Thank you for selecting for us!

It’s so refreshing to see young people like you two say how much music means to you. For us Boomers, music was always so important, and to me it just didn’t seem like the younger generation had the same love and passion. It’s the love of music that keeps it alive. God bless!
Thanks so much for doing this song. It’s very special to me, and I can’t make it through it without at least one tear. This was my friend’s favorite song, and she died unexpectedly at a very young age. At her funeral, they played this song, and I’ll never forget locking arms with our circle of friends. We sang and cried at the same time. As much as I love it, I can’t listen to it very much, because of the emotional memories of my dear friend, but I did it today because I wanted to see how it would touch you both. “She climbs in the bed and pulls the covers over her head, and she turns a little radio on. She’s had a rotten day, so she hopes the DJ’s gonna play her favorite song…” 😢😢
I’ve been a long time fan of Triumph and I’m glad to see you like them too. Some other songs of theirs you’ll like are “A World of Fantasy”, “Follow Your Heart” and “Fight the Good Fight”
One of my favorite groups. Seen them in 1986. Other phenomenal songs are :Fight the good fight, Definitely Never surrender. Really shows his voice and guitar riffs. Please try them! Won't be disappointed!! Watch the live ones!
never missed a Triumph concert when they came to my town, it was a major event in my formative years. if you listen to every Triumph song you will find a message of positivity, never a lyric of despair or hatred AND in their time THE BEST live show EVER! even to this day fans beg and pray for a reunion tour..but as time passes that possibility lessens more.
Oooooo....I've waited so long for y'all to do this song. You did a great job with "Lay it on the line". Rik Emmet has the best voice for the genre. And, they has soooo many great songs like others have said. "Hold on", "Somebody's out there", "Ordinary Man", "A world of fantasy". However, a huge thumbs up for "Fight the good fight" with its great message!
I remember being young wild and free...but that was 40 years ago! Glad you guys found this band! Triumph was a seriously underrated Canadian rock band from the late 1970s into the 1980s! Their live shows were EPIC!
My favorite triumph song is " young enough to cry". Its very bluesy and the way he sings it, even if you dont have a reason to cry you can feel the heartache.
Lead singer is Rik Emmett he's so good BTW he's Canadian just like Getty Lee of Rush. Canadian voices were phenomenal. Saw them in concert when this song came out that was about the time I came out as Trans had the perfect date to this concert. Every time u play something in Rock Genre it always brings back memories and always makes me cry 😢! TY for the memories.
Geddy and Rik were pals in the late 70's and 80's both living in the east end of Toronto. I'm 56 now and remember seeing them hanging out as a young teen, at the local diner. I grew up 2 blocks from Geddy lee and was his paperboy. he gave me my first 50 dollar bill as a Xmas tip. Triumph played my old high school, Malvern Collegiate, around the same time period, and the next year opened for Rush at Maple Leaf gardens for New years eve. I've been listening to these guys for 40 yrs.

I love Triumph. I love Rik Emmitt. This song continues to give me chills 45 years after seeing my first Triumph concert. Rik is one gracious and giving man. He made a wish come true for a friend of mine who was dying. I will always have mad respect for Rik and his management for helping my friend leave this world a happy man. Rest easy Andreas...you are loved and missed SO MUCH !
This song is so special to me. My dad loved music, something I inherited from him. He gave me a small boom box and I would literally crawl into bed with that radio when I had a bad day. He played this for me many times, because I got the power of the music from him.
Rik Emmett has one of the best voices in rock but also jazz/blues. You should check out some of his solo work. Triumph doesn't have a bad song, they were amazing! You guys should also do the live version of this song which imo is way better. My absolute favorite Triumph song is "Stranger in a Strange Land".
The benefit us oldsters have is that we have heard decades of music 100s if not 1000s of times. When we hear a song we have a history, all the stuff we heard about it, all the things we've down with it in the background, all the people we've spent time with in those moments. So we can list 100 great songs and still barely scratch the surface. The wee kids of today (lol) have listened to about 5 songs, most of them mostly stolen from other actual songs, and have that as the basis of their "taste" in music. It is so joyful to see younger people sit through great songs and start to realize that there is not just a whole world out there (hey from Canada, you guys haven't heard 1% of our great music!), but decades of great music to find.
"Somebody's Out There" is a song everyone's recommending, and it definitely is one of their better ones. But I have to really recommend "Follow Your Heart." This is not only a rocking banger (as the kids say), you two are going to love the message it tells us.
So underrated are Riks voice and Triumph! Fight the Good Fight is my personal favorite. Rik wrote this for his aunt who was battling cancer at the time. Thanks for giving Triumph another listen.
I don’t know what I’d do without music! I, literally, couldn’t live without it! It feels apart me, ingrained and runs through my veins. It truly feels that way 😌
My concert story seeing Triumph. For reasons unknown to me the audience stood on there chairs. I couldn't because I had a cast on my entire leg, which now meant I only saw the butts in front of me. A Security person saw me and led me to the stairs in the venue so I could sit there and see the concert. I never forgot the kindness showed to me that night. I spent a year in that cast, what a long year it was.
Takes me back to the day. It was on the charts in my Sr. year in high school. I still vividly recall cruising the back roads of the little Okie town where I lived in the days after graduation and having this blasting on the car radio. Great song.
THIS is my 2nd favorite song of ALL time. This is a direct standpoint of the artist to his audience and what it means to be a musician (the feeling an artist gives his listener). Incredible song and it represents every single artist who's ever written a song for his/her genre and their audience. Favorite song of all time is John Lennon's "Imagine". ..... People get the message so wrong. When he wrote the line "Imagine there's no heaven" the religous fanatics crusified him when all he meant was "what if we had a world where religion didn't decide our worth as a people"? That's just an example. Political/Religous people don't comment, you won't get a response. He was who he was and he wrote for a better world for us and our children.
Rik Emmett is one of top 5 greatest rock vocalist of all time, physically. I don't mean subjectively; I mean from a pure athletic nature. He's one of my greatest influences.
One of my all-time favorite bands. Saw them live several times. Rik Emmett is a master of guitar. A band that was categorized a heavy metal during their day, that incorporated positive messages into their lyrics, when most others did not. Fight the Good Fight is another great one from Triumph.
One of my favorite Triumph songs! Reminds me of when I was 15 and felt so good when I listened to this song!! I’m 62 now and still love it! Glad you enjoy it! Rick Emmit is awesome on guitar and an amazing voice! Saw him recently and he still sounds amazing!!! You guys have fun!!❤️
As a teenager when Magic Power came out, this was an absolute anthem. “I’m young, I’m wild and I’m free” was our mantra. Then the music builds and builds into an absolute banger! Love Triumph. 🔥🤙
The group Triumph were a great group that had a very talented lead singer in Rik Emmett who still performs to this day with still an amazing voice. They are very underrated in my opinion.
My all time favorite song!! It has a personal connection for me and means the world. 💜🙌🏻 As other people have said, somebody’s out there is another great song from triumph.
Great reaction! One of the most underrated bands. “Fight the Good Fight “ needs to be on your list. Rik Emmitt wrote it for Aunt who was fighting cancer. The message in it is for all us in this world. We all struggle with different issues so life in general is a Fight! Keep up the great work. Music is Magic 😊
I love this band! Thank you for listening to this. Saw them live with Heart on the same show in 1977. My first concert. I was too young to be there but it was a great show.
I know I'll get piled-on here if Rush fans see this, but I was a fan of both & seen both in their heyday, but Triumph blew, & blow Rush away! Rush was good till Signals, then rest a bunch of prog-rock, unjammable start/stop noise! That said, to each their own, & if into prog-rock, Rush are the MASTERS!!! RIP NEIL PEART!🙏❤
I'm 49 and grew up listening to Triumph! One of the most talented bands , and one of the best things to come out of Canada. Such a pleasure to listen to. Cheers from northeast Ohio.
Yes, the drummer is Gil Moore and he shares lead vocals with guitarist Rik Emmett. Follow your Heart is a great song that Gil sings lead on with Rik coming in with his higher voice during the chorus.
Brilliant track off a brilliant album that I re-visit often. Allied Forces is so good from start to finish and these guys are just simply a GREAT band. Fantastic music with great messages and story. Enjoy the Triumph journey! Live versions from the US Festival are FANTASTIC. Canada just knows how to produce killer rock trios :) Rik Emmett is still putting out good music and still sounds amazing. Drummer, Gil Moore also sings lead on a number of great Triumph tracks and they make for some great harmonies all over.
What a beautiful speech about the power of music, Amber and how it touched you personally! If you ever make a channel trailer, it should be included. Thank you for who you are and what you do. “I live for the weekend” and “Fight the good fight” my all time favorites from Triumph
Another rock radio anthem song back in the day. Thanks for pulling this one out of the sleeve!
never missed a Triumph concert when they came to my town, it was a major event in my formative years. if you listen to every Triumph song you will find a message of positivity, never a lyric of despair or hatred AND in their time THE BEST live show EVER! even to this day fans beg and pray for a reunion tour..but as time passes that possibility lessens more.
All music genres were so great in the 80s! Thanks for the video!
I remember being young wild and free...but that was 40 years ago! Glad you guys found this band! Triumph was a seriously underrated Canadian rock band from the late 1970s into the 1980s! Their live shows were EPIC!
The lead singer's name is Rik Emmitt. And, yes, his voice is so awesome. His guitar playing is top-notch, too.
Music is such a powerful medium, and this song projects that emotion perfectly! Love Triumph! Great reaction!
“Musicians are healers of the world.”
Such true words Amber.
My favorite triumph song is " young enough to cry". Its very bluesy and the way he sings it, even if you dont have a reason to cry you can feel the heartache.
Music is very therapeutic, a powerful and universal tool for healing. Triumph was such a great band!
The next Triumph song you should listen to is "Fight the Good Fight" at the US festival in 83...A spectacular performance of the song.
You said it. Amazing performance!
@@mattbecham597 Oh the irony of you having the insatiable need to let everyone know that you're a bigoted douchebag when only your friends and family knew that before your post.

Music is the Magic you can feel, hear, hold and touch. It moves us and works miracles in us and through us.
Incredibly inspiring song. Always loved it
Fight the Good Fight and Lay it on the Line are their best hits in my opinion. Such a great band.
Love this band! One of the greatest bands of all time. Follow Your Heart is another great song.
One of my favorite bands from when I was a teenager in the 80's... Thank you for this reaction!
"Somebody's Out There" is a song everyone's recommending, and it definitely is one of their better ones. But I have to really recommend "Follow Your Heart." This is not only a rocking banger (as the kids say), you two are going to love the message it tells us.
I agree - should definitely do both of these songs!
Plus, that's Gil song. Gotta show the complete package :)
You can't play this one loud enough.....it's just stood the test of time....love these guys.
This is my favorite Triumph song. Rik Emmett is the unknown GOAT. Master of guitar, amazing vocals, should have been much better known.
Proud Canadian right here! They need more recognition man ✌️
Real music. Real voices. No autotune. Rik Emmet’s voice is extremely powerful even to this day. Love it.
So under-rated!! Glad you’re giving them some love. Rock On!!
So right about Imagine
Rik Emmett is one of top 5 greatest rock vocalist of all time, physically. I don't mean subjectively; I mean from a pure athletic nature. He's one of my greatest influences.
One of my all-time favorite bands. Saw them live several times. Rik Emmett is a master of guitar. A band that was categorized a heavy metal during their day, that incorporated positive messages into their lyrics, when most others did not. Fight the Good Fight is another great one from Triumph.
Had the privilege of seeing Triumph in concert back in '83. Just a wonderful trio.
What an awesome song from a great band. Thank you
My kind of jam , This is one of their best songs IMO. !
THIS is why you listen to Triumph.. Canadas 2nd Rush
A huge fan of both! Triumph is my heart, but g*d damn, nobody plays like Rush!
I'm 49 and grew up listening to Triumph! One of the most talented bands , and one of the best things to come out of Canada. Such a pleasure to listen to. Cheers from northeast Ohio.
I love Triumph. Rick Emmett is a great vocalist and guitarist. For their next song you should do "Follow Your Heart" which is also inspirational.
Yes, definitely should do Follow your Heart Live
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Rik is also the guitarist. He shares lead vocals with the drummer!!! Enjoy this rabbit hole my friends!! Great review!!!
You two are amazing, a real virtue for humanity!
Yes, some of us will know who Wiz Khalifa is. He was on the radio this morning, in between Christmas songs, with “See You Again” feat. Charlie Puth.
It's amazing he able to hit those notes while playing lead quitar another amazing 3 man Canadian band saw them twice live just an incredible show
