Triumph is another Canadian trio. They are unique in that there's an overwhelming positive message in their music. I think they're totally underratted. Rik Emmet is doing those soaring vocals while playing double neck guitar. That's just talent. Back in the day, he sounded just as good live as he did on record. He wasn't missing notes on the guitar either. As a musician myself, I looked upon him in awe. He's one of the few guys you see live and think you should just quit because you'll never be that good. But of course, his songs are so positive there's no way you can give up. I'm glad you guys appreciate Triumph. They're truly the good guys.

The days grow shorter and the nights are getting long
Feels like we're running out of time
Every day it seems much harder tellin' right from wrong
You got to read between the lines
Don't get discouraged, don't be afraid, we can
    Make it through another day
Make it worth the price we pay
The Good Book says it's better to give than to receive
I do my best to do my part
Nothin' in my pockets I got nothin' up my sleeve
I keep my magic in my heart
Keep up your spirit, keep up your faith, baby
    I am counting on you
You know what you've got to do
Fight the good fight every moment
    Every minute every day
Fight the good fight every moment
    It's your only way
All your life you've been waiting for your chance
Where you'll fit into the plan
But you're the master of your own destiny
So give and take the best that you can
You think a little more money will buy your soul some rest
You'd better think of something else instead
You're so afraid of being honest with yourself
You'd better take a look inside your head
Nothing is easy, nothing good is free
But I can tell you where to start
Take a look inside your heart

This 3 piece Canadian band dominated the other bands. What a night of music. They also have this song live from the US Festival.👍🎵🎵

I saw them back in the early 80s at the Holiday Star Theater near Chicago all those years ago and was sold! So many great songs you have yet to hear from them! Thanks!!!

Love Triumph, and this is one of my favorites of all time. It's pick me up for sure. I've suffered through a long term health issue, since I was a young teen in 1982, and I'm still suffering through it today. When I first heard that song way back then, it spoke to me, and put energy in my heart, and helped me want to fight to get to the next day. I love to hear it, and I play it on guitar and bass as well. Sometimes I'll be feeling too bad to cook a meal, but I'll force myself to do it, and then while it's cooking, I'll crank up the amp and pick up the guitar and play this song. Believe it or not, it really helps. So, Emmett , if you ever happen to read this, just know you've made a difference, bit just in my life, but in many thousands of others as well.
Their music is so positive, it really lifts your spirit.
One last bit. I have had the opportunity to play a few really good rock bands, and one with a singer that could cover this song, amazing voice. So we played it at shows, and it was , every time, a huge crowd pleaser. .

Rik Emmett was the lead singer for this tune, and the lead for many of their most well known songs, but Gil Moore, the drummer, also shared lead vocal duties. He sings "I Live for the Weekend", and it's a hard rockin' tune. Triumph is really underrated and was known for their live stage shows.

Triumph came along with their brand of rock at the perfect time for them and for us as I was a young man trying to figure out who and what I was in this world and rock music was going through a fundamental change during that period from the late 70’s into the early 80’s and I think they managed to capture the sound of that change perfectly 🎸Rick Emmett was the mastermind behind that. He was lead vocalist and lead guitarist which in itself is a monumental task for most musicians trying to do it at that level!! I had much respect for him.🤟✌️🫶
