Dude....your whole plan to inspire others to get out and ride is totally working!!! I tried my first up & downhill today. Nothing major, just a simple one....finally understand what you always talk about....deore brakes, high lines & freaking "pain & pleasure".....thanks a bunch dude!!!
I must be the only person in the world who never has trouble with tubes! I'm probably at about 700 miles with only 1 flat! I am going to setup my new bike tubeless, but I'm just lazy and haven't gotten around to it yet!
I weigh around 230lbs, so I typically run 35-40psi to avoid screwing up my rims. My newest bike came tubeless ready and I even bought some sealant so I could go tubeless when the tubes that came in it failed. I have yet to get a flat and I ride 3-4 times a week.
Huntstyle nope i have tubes too lol punctureless slime tubes not had a problem since i got them i had a Carrara centos300 in 2013 and after getting quite a few thorns in front and back biking to work i decided to get slime tubes and same journey to work wen i got thar i had 14 thorns in front and 11 in back lol but only the fat thorns posed a problem good thing i have 45psi front and back got to work tyres still solid (it says on tyre 40 to 60) but pumped tyres back up as thay had gone down abit thay were fine but eventually too many thorns and it killed 1 of them so replaced it and not had to touch it since other tube is still going strong so strong that i now have a saracen raw 2 and the wheels and tyres off the Carrara are now on saracen still no issues and its 2018 and to think 1 of tubes is from 2013 still with thorns in it lol i praise the slime tyre gods 😂
Same here. 900miles or so last year of single track according to my strava and not a single flat - actually been about 5 years since I got one. Run about 25psi on 2.1-2.2 29er tires. And I actually run super light tubes, probably less weight then the milk. Put tons of talcum powder on the tube and some in the tire when I install em maybe that helps lol. I have tubeless wheels just lazy as well. Building a new bike and going to finally try tubeless. Mostly hardpack with random rocks and fallen trees, a few rock gardens sections - we do have some thorny plants but trail crew tries to keep them away from the trail.
brian. just wanted to let you know you're channel has grown on me. when you first started out, i thought u were too vanilla and i didn't get the "thrills" like some other channels bring. however, your consistency is spectacular. every video you produce, its high quality but most importantly you are just being you. ive never felt like you're a "try hard". its also cool to see you improve as a rider. i just wanted to share this to encourage you to keep at it. i've personally tried the whole gopro thing. it isn't easy. so many things to worry about.. battery, memory card storage, ect ect. your consistent production is impressive.
Brian, This is one of my favorite videos now! Beautiful weather and skies plus letting us see the good, the bad and the ugly of mtn biking. The trails were gnarly at times and looked like lots of fun! Thanks for sharing with us.
Last time I was MTBing in southern Califorinia it was 1994 and I never heard about Mt. Wilson... Back then (pre-Internet&Trailforks) the local shops and riders all told me to go to Big Bear and ride, it was awesome and I had a blast there, I love Big Bear! Now, when I go back out to California, maybe in a few years, I will definitely ride this trail. Thanks again Brain and hope you are feeling better; I have been battling the flu myself for over 2 weeks! *_#teacherproblems_*
Thanks Kenneth , i have not rode a bike in 14 weeks during some private issues , but you got me back in to biking .. i feel the blood pumping again .. going to do some riding again soon .. thanx mate !
Hey Brian the title of this video should be "Why you should never ride tubes down Mt Wilson". Lots of people in the comments say they run tubes for years without a flat, it's probably because their trails are tame. Mt Wilson is extremely chunky and we don't have baby heads, the chunk is decomposed granite which are sharp. I have ridden Mt Wilson a hundred times and it's always the guys running tubes that flat. Of course Mt Wilson can eat up tires and tear a hole that Stan's can't seal but normally that happens to the guys running light tires. Thats why me and almost all of my boys run Schwalbe Super Gravity Magic Mary up front and Hans Dampf in rear, yeah the casing is heavy but they are bomb proof.... And yes you definitely need to get flat pedals, especially at Mt Wilson, I'm sure you noticed all of us had flats, tons of tight switch backs and off camber turns. Having flats allows me to throw a foot down and whip the rear.
Made the switch to flats for training rides about a year ago after riding clipless for years. I hated them at first, finding the correct foot position for climbing and descents was a challenge, learning to equally weight your footing as well, and learning to use your now "free" feet to pick turns/maneuver the bike. Best move I ever made though, helped my riding tons (you can't cheat, have to learn proper technique) My air game is solid now and I'm hitting jumps I never thought I would tackle,, same for big drops and gnarly rock gardens. Good luck, stick with it and you'll be glad you did. Toes up/heels down! Cheers!
Just got back from a 4-day trip to Spain (first MTB trip to another country, thanks for the inspiration btw). Bought shoes for flat pedals for the trip and ended up riding them the whole time. Gives great confidence when the terrain is rocks, ruts and whatnot down the steep mountain side.
James and Todd (my wing man in Moab!) great to see you! Todd nice work getting these newbies started on massage! I've been getting them for years and it makes a huge difference in recovery, especially after a couple days of park riding! Such is the power of suggestion, I think I will go get one today for no reason at all!
I ran clipless for over 10 years on my road bikes. When I recently made the transition to MTBing I went flats from the start. The flats feel weird after so long on clipless, but I am liking them better for the MTB. Would never run flats on my Road bikes though.
Hey Brian, you can rotate the air barrel on that shock, its what Orbea advise once you have it all set up and don't need to access it any more. I can´t remember how to do it but its pretty easy!
Lol.. I’m a Navajo lady.. old one too... bc of u.. I am going to buy a mt bike and see what happens.. still watching your vids... exciting.. my son wants a bike too.. we r in ABQ, NM.
Some great trail in SoCal Nuggets, glad there are still people willing to help complete strangers. Nice to see you made it back to civilization without bike a hicking it.
Yeah, I remember that vid! keep on keeping on! It's so dry and looks so mild for Jan. It's freezing and hammering it down with rain here in Wales. LOVE IT! Yew!
I had a front flat on tubeless. Was just riding a sedate part of the trail and something punctured through the centre of the tread. There were wet patches on the ground were the sealant came out so I could back track to exactly the spot but didn’t find anything on the ground that would have caused it. Patched it with some dyna plugs and a C02. And I can’t believe you are considering flat pedals after all this time, nice one.
Hey man, just wanted to give you some props for not drinking! I don't drink alcohol either, and it's surprising how difficult that can sometimes be in this culture when most people do drink and can sometimes think it's weird that you don't. Keep it up dude! Especially the not drinking on a ride part of it, I feel like drinking on a ride can make you a liability to the other riders.
I had noticed in other videos that Brian never drank beer when hanging with Seth and Alex after a ride. Was curious if this was dietary (since he seems to skip a lot of gluten) or if he just didn't drink. Cool to know now! I recently took 3 months off myself and it was really liberating but also cool to see how my body and mind performed without it.
Gnarly! In a good way!! Cool to see you ripping with the Trail Peek guys! Bummer for the mechanicals, but great to see good and helpful people out there.
i switched back to flats recently. much better power transfer i think through the bumpy, up angled stuff where you can just stomp through with flats. it also makes learning to olly and bunny hop possible.
I still got to say Brian, you and Alex the whole gang you guys definitely kick it up a notch or two for last year. Sorry to sound like a broken record keep up the good work..
Used to climb and descend the old Mt. Wilson Toll Rd as an out-and-back starting in Altadena almost 30 years ago, on fully rigid steel frames. I was younger then. Not sure I'd want to do that now.
15:45 "Just had another flat, dangerous times to be getting flats. It wasn't me but you know, it could've been me. And uhh.. oh it's getting dark. The fear of- AHHH FUCK!" Is it okay I got a little chuckle out of this? The fucking timing how does that even happen?! It could've been worse though! Least no one (baring Tommy haha) crashed and got hurt. My freewheel hub busted out on me on my last ride and that sucked too!
People can whine about tubes all they want, but every pinch I see in tubeless tires still requires a tube to fix it 99% of the time , and then you get to deal with sealant all over everything. Carry tubes in the back country regardless of what you run.:)
In thirty years I still ride 26" softtail, tubes, have gotten multiple flats in a ride, but lately I've ridden zero flats over two years. Oddly, riding wider tougher tires but like the same low psi tubeless folks run, I don't get even pinch flats. Had to give a 29er guy two 26" tubes when he couldn't keep sealant and his sole tube was junk. Ha.
First comment in a while! Unfortunately haven’t watched any videos of yours in a few months, been focusing on training! Because of your videos and motivation I’m down to 220 and shred better. Training for enduro still! I wanna ride Wilson!
The trail from Red Box to Switzer is Gabrielino. MWBA is working with the USFS to reopen the switzer to Ken Burton section. Trail work day tomorrow, meet at JPL Windsor lot at 8am. More details at MWBA.org.
switching to flats totally changes the game and your riding style. I feel way more confident because if i need to bail im off the bike immediately. It also encourages you to ride your bike even if your not going for a ride because you can ride with normal shoes. The only time that ive gotten a flat on my front tire was when i ran too low of pressure and landed a jump a little squirrely and burbed the tire off the rim.
Man I used to ride Angeles Crest on my sport bike every weekend for years... but in the last 5 years it has gotten so crowded and so dangerous, with all the irresponsibly stupid people racing cars in both lanes, people crossing the double-yellow, passing you in your own lane... Most of the corners are blind and there are head-on collisions and people going over the side almost every day. I’ve seen three dead bodies in the road in past few years. I just have no desire to ride there any more. It’s sad because its such a great road and I live only a few miles from the start of it.
Great video Brian! I was waiting for this. I had so many crashes that day, too much Go Juice for me. Glad you were able to make it but sucked about your flats. I tried to call you to let you know that Zach had an extra 29er tube but there was cell signal. The conditions were dry and loose that day they are so much better now, we got rain the after you left. Hit me up next time you come down we need to do it again to get our redemption.
BKXC hahahaha for sure. It was fun despite all the casualties. I was really hoping you got my crash on Darkside, at least the pain would have been worth it. Lol
Riding the trails you ride dude you definitely need a maxxis double down, schwalbe supergravity or like the trailpeek guys run a WTB tough casing on the back. For winter in the uk I’ve been running a Magic Mary supergravity at 30psi with no issues. I’m 230lbs
When I watched this I thought "Oh shit, he's jinxed my tubed studded winter tires." Yep. Flatted THAT DAY riding a bumpy ice ribbon of a trail. Today, I rode dirt for the first time ever tubelessly. So thanks, Brian, for jinxing me.
Title should be "This is why you always take TWO tubes if it's a long ride" XD Anyway, nobody of the squad had a tube to borrow you to complete the ride? :-(
Damn, that really sucks! :-( When tire is cut there's not much you can do about, beside trying to cut a strip of the inner tube and try tu use it as a patch, but for sure you won't shred much with this method... I'm one of those guys who put sealant in the inner tubes, I thought that would have been more common but then I find out we're like the embarassing weird kids of the MTB world... But I'm cool with that, been like that all my life! XD
I still use tubes I don't flat very often sometime I go weeks whit out a flat but maybe is where your ride and the terrrian that you have, but I have ride whit people whit tubeless and when they flat is a mess is very hard to take the tire off the rim clean the liquid there's was a guy in a ride that flat and no matter what we do we can't take the tire of the rim he walk down, tubes are easy to change when you have a flat.
Pepe Anza havnt seen a flat in a year tubeless. It's easy to change tires as well depending on the rim. I cant imagine having to go back to tubes. Try it sometime
What an adventure!! I found that since I got 2.3" tyres i get way less flats. Can't beleive you are thinking about flat pedals lol thought I would never see the day.
Hahaha thanks so much! Some of my best rides are in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLjr0xjHkkOZTHaLjW11vyf3zMFglUyybc And if you're curious about my story this is a good playlist to watch: ruclips.net/p/PLjr0xjHkkOZTZjTOO--olm2k1jtBirrz0
Ah riding in So Cal, fun until you get a flat. Once I got a flat running a Kevlar banded tire, tire liner, and Slime. Freaking goatheads! Looks like fun though
+BKXC a long time ago before the MASSIVE fire and rain that followed. You used to be able to go from Redbox to Switzer Falls to Gabrielino Trail to Aqua Canyon to Gould Mesa alllllll the way down to Millard Canyon where JPL is. Rode this next part back in the day and can be joined from what I mentioned in the top..... I think. From JPL/Millard you could join it to Oak Grove Park go under 210fwy ride next to Upper Arroyo all the way to the Rose bowl parking lot.
BKXC ask Tommy or Chris if they ventured that portion. Think CORBA had done some recent work on a different portion that is supposed to be just as good.
Hey Brian. What's happening today? let's ride bikes! 4:30 - So I think you've been using your Stuntman chest harness a lot, lately. What do you think of it now that you've had some time with it? I love mine. It feels so much more secure than the Chesty did. 7:35 - Do you always wear knee pads? What brand do you use? 8:37 - I can't make the claim that I've never had alcohol, but I can say I've never been drunk. I think the closest I have ever come is a very slight buzz from a wine cooler. I have worked very hard to stay away from alcohol because I saw what it did to my dad and I wasn't going to have that happen to me. 10:16 - That is likely the smoothest bail I have ever seen. That takes skill, yes? haha! 11:47 - I have noticed how different size groups can affect how long it takes to ride a trail. With my local trail, I usually do a night ride with a group of friends. Sometimes we'd have a dozen or so people with us, and sometimes it's be just three or four. The larger groups take longer because our ride is a no-drop ride and we end up waiting for others at set regroup points. But when we just have a few of us, the ride happens much faster. Always fun no matter what, though. 12:43 - I have never actually gotten a puncture that my sealant wasn't able to patch up for me. So far, the only reason why I lost air on any ride is due to me over-inflating the tires (the air pressure gauge on my old tire pump was faulty and giving me a lower reading than normal by 20 PSI). Knocking on wood while I type this. I know one day it will happen so I always have my "Oh Crap" kit with me. 18:17 - Massages are awesome, unless you're going in for the kind where they do super deep stuff. Those kill. But a massage that's designed to help relax you, those are the best. I love them. It's so funny because on the one hand I want to tell you to get well soon. On the other hand I know you're already recovered from being sick by now. So I retroactively wish you a speedy recovery, my friend. Stay upright and keep the rubber side down. -Brian P.S. I just realized I was logged into my other channel name when I posted this. Sorry for any confusion.
No stalking here. Just a fellow MTBer who enjoys Brian's videos, has more than one or two things to say about them, and tries to learn from them. We all have our own ways of doing things. It's all good. 😀🚵 But on other the hand - Brian if my style of commenting ever creeps you out or makes you feel like I'm stalking you, just let me know. I'll stop. -Brian
mad props to Guillermo for taking the time to help you get down the mountain. good guy.
Yep, that was HUGE
Dude....your whole plan to inspire others to get out and ride is totally working!!! I tried my first up & downhill today. Nothing major, just a simple one....finally understand what you always talk about....deore brakes, high lines & freaking "pain & pleasure".....thanks a bunch dude!!!
Awesome man!!! So glad to hear that. It really is what this is all about.
15:48 Haha, "it wasn't me, it could have been me". Literally 7 seconds later.
Haha, then it WAS me
Of COURSE it was SEVEN seconds! ;)
I recently tried following somone better than me ( not hard to find) and it really made me work harder and helped with confidence .
That's awesome Lyle!

brian. just wanted to let you know you're channel has grown on me. when you first started out, i thought u were too vanilla and i didn't get the "thrills" like some other channels bring. however, your consistency is spectacular. every video you produce, its high quality but most importantly you are just being you. ive never felt like you're a "try hard". its also cool to see you improve as a rider. i just wanted to share this to encourage you to keep at it. i've personally tried the whole gopro thing. it isn't easy. so many things to worry about.. battery, memory card storage, ect ect. your consistent production is impressive.
Thanks so much Gilbert, that's really cool to hear dude!!
Brian, This is one of my favorite videos now! Beautiful weather and skies plus letting us see the good, the bad and the ugly of mtn biking. The trails were gnarly at times and looked like lots of fun! Thanks for sharing with us.
That's awesome to hear!! Glad you enjoy the ups and the downs
Looks like an awesome day! Nothing beats riding with a few friends in good weather and good trails.
It was a solid day!

Well, I can definitely say I learned some geology today.
Yep, you're 100% right, that shit was SHARPPP!!
Now that was different. Wasn’t your day. We all have one of those days. Thanks for sharing and keeping it real!
Those trails look fun!!
I still had a pretty good time, but dang I wish I could have finished the trail!
Made the switch to flats for training rides about a year ago after riding clipless for years. That's great!
Aside from your tube mishaps, that ride still looked like a fun adventure. Definitely some sketchy moments. Thanks for sharing.
Yep, the ups and the downs made it such an adventure!

Nice, I like hearing different perspectives like this!
Dude I love your video footage ..you got balls the way you ride and your helpful to other people ..thank you for doing this
Thanks so much, glad you enjoy it!

Awesome!! Take it one step at a time!
"Hoy por ti, mañana por mi"
Saludos!!!
Gracias amigo!
Riding off into the sunset, at 14:13. That is beautiful!
That shot was pretty neat!
Looked like some awesome trails. Im amazed how different they all are. So rocky. Nice
Yes, there was some amazing variety!
Excellent video. Good camera mounting & audio. I live in Arcadia...done the San Gabriel's many many times. Thanks!
Getting a flat while talking about flats, that's some crazy coincidence. Great to See that you took it with Humor!
Haha, all you can do is roll with the punches!
Some great trail in SoCal Nuggets, glad there are still people willing to help complete strangers. Nice to see you made it back to civilization without bike a hicking it.
Yep, the kindness of strangers is amazing!
A Trail Peek x BKXC cross-over!?!?! It's like Spiderman showing up in Avengers! :D
Haha love it. I rode with them this summer as well: ruclips.net/video/9g7NAWU2ixw/видео.html
Yeah, I remember that vid! keep on keeping on! It's so dry and looks so mild for Jan. It's freezing and hammering it down with rain here in Wales. LOVE IT!

Haha, only the second person to mention a front flat!!
Run some electric tape around the shock and air valve to it makes a smooth transition from shock body to valve so the loop on the pad doesnt catch.
Nice idea dude!
Hey man, just wanted to give you some props for not drinking! I won't say I'm 100% immune to peer pressure, but a life of saying no to alcohol is about as close as you can get!
That’s a lot of rock and those switchbacks were crazy. Cool video. Hate that there were that many flats
Yeah, it was such a cool spot!
Gnarly! In a good way!! Cool to see you ripping with the Trail Peek guys! Bummer for the mechanicals, but great to see good and helpful people out there.
Even still, tons of fun!
Flats are pretty legit. Definitely worthwhile, even if you end up switching back to clips.
Nice, I keep thinking about it!
i switched back to flats recently. much better power transfer i think through the bumpy, up angled stuff where you can just stomp through with flats. it also makes learning to olly and bunny hop possible.
No reason you can't have both. A pedal wrench/allen key, a pair of shoes & flats in your car wouldn't take up much space in a car.
i just had a 50 km ride but after watching this video i wanna go back out and ride agin .. yeah mannnn 👍🏼👌🏽awesome video
Hahaa love hearing that Rafy!
Always nice to see the good people in the world.
Definitely!
I still got to say Brian, you and Alex the whole gang you guys definitely kick it up a notch or two for last year. Sorry to sound like a broken record keep up the good work..
I appreciate it every time I hear it dude!
Hell of an adventure regardless. That's what it's all about it. Great vid!
Exactly!! Thanks Walt

Holy moly!! That's awesome
I can imagine the frustration u had Brian! Nice vid as always.
Survived it!! Thanks Faizal
Brian, I was dying when the second tube blew. "Oh Fuck!"
Haha perfefct timing
Love the Red Box trail. Hope the fullface helmet guys weren't running too many hikers off the trail.
They were pretty damn courteous!
15:45 "Just had another flat, dangerous times to be getting flats. It wasn't me but you know, it could've been me. And uhh.. oh it's getting dark. The fear of- AHHH FUCK!"

Hahaha, dude it's funny as hell. You couldn't make that stuff up, glad I caught it on camera!
I think I've watched it about 10 times now haha
What a day it was! :)
Guillermo was a very nice driver.
He was the hero!!
It was a tough day but at least you got a happy ending. 😉
HAhahaha
Came for this, leaving happy
That trail was so smooth and flowy, enjoyed watching that, just like all the others, good job :)
So many great trails out there! It was a blast.
Hoy por ti, mañana por mi!! Totally true
So damn true!
Vodka and mountain biking? Doesn't sound like a good combo to be honest.
Rum is better for the rider. Easier to see if the glas needs a refill.
SammyBangsTina yeah, why on earth would you want to drink while riding? You need to be switched on at all times. Weird.
Hahaha
I am at school in study hall and this is making me want to go for a bike ride now.
HAha nice
Well after school I did go for a ride it was great. Thanks for the amazing video's.
People can whine about tubes all they want, but every pinch I see in tubeless tires still requires a tube to fix it 99% of the time , and then you get to deal with sealant all over everything. Carry tubes in the back country regardless of what you run.:)
Yep, you're right about that!
Ha.
Trail Peak cameos and massages! What a day!
Hahaa indeed! Thanks Jeff
Great video Brian. Really enjoyed it and learned a few things. Might try changing the way I mount my gimbal now. Thanks dude!
Awesome, glad to hear that Gene!
First comment in a while! Unfortunately haven’t watched any videos of yours in a few months, been focusing on training! Because of your videos and motivation I’m down to 220 and shred better. Training for enduro still! I wanna ride Wilson!
Dude, that's friggin GREAT! Keep at it man!
Dude you were seriously ripping it! Love it! Keep it up.
Thanks so much Pete!!
You are doing well considering your getting over the flu. Top effort mate.👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Jon!
The trail from Red Box to Switzer is Gabrielino. MWBA is working with the USFS to reopen the switzer to Ken Burton section. Trail work day tomorrow, meet at JPL Windsor lot at 8am. More details at MWBA.org.
Awesome, thanks for sharing
Geez Brian!! That trail looks scary! And you’re on clips too! I commend you for that!!
Haha, always clipped in for the ride!
wow that's bad juju...talking bout flats and got a flat?! Crazy!
Hahaha
I always carry two tubes after getting two flats on one ride...can't be too prepared!! Great trails though.
Wish I had three tubes an extra tire after that debacle!
Grant Feddema just get some skab patches.
switching to flats totally changes the game and your riding style.
Haha, you're the first person to answer my question if anyone has had a flat in the front!! Good info on the flats.
I ride vintage MTB in the hood daily. I run slime tubes. They are heavy, but never go flat!!!👍
Oh nice!
HOLY MOLY BRIAN GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS. JUST CAN'T HELP SMILING /LAUGHING THANKYOU
Haha thanks Colin, long time no see!
Awesome videos!
Sadly the reason for all the traffic that day, was a major S2000 accident.
Yeah, we saw it
Way to go Guillermo, dude thats awesome.
He saved the day!!
Tommy and his go Juice lol...crazy
Hahaha
Man I used to ride Angeles Crest on my sport bike every weekend for years... but in the last 5 years it has gotten so crowded and so dangerous, with all the irresponsibly stupid people racing cars in both lanes, people crossing the double-yellow, passing you in your own lane... Most of the corners are blind and there are head-on collisions and people going over the side almost every day. I’ve seen three dead bodies in the road in past few years.
I just have no desire to ride there any more.
It’s sad because its such a great road and I live only a few miles from the start of it.
Yeah, there were a TON of motorists out that day, it was busy and people were wrecking!
I've mountain bikes for 25 years, raced, bombing around forests and trail centres and I've only had about 4-5 flats!
Wow!
Hit me up next time you come down we need to do it again to get our redemption.
biketothetop there is a fine line between just enough and way too much .... I obviously had way too much that day.
biketothetop hahahaha good call
You know I'll hit you up again!! Thanks for getting this set up and making it happen, dude. A lot of people talk the talk, but you walk the walk!
BKXC hahahaha for sure. It was fun despite all the casualties. I was really hoping you got my crash on Darkside, at least the pain would have been worth it. Lol
Tommy Huynh can you tell us why you drink on the trail and how much?
Great Video man, looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks Jason!
Great video once again brotha! Those trails looked gnarly. Definitely gotta hit those when I'm back on the mainland. Thanks for the quality content 🤙
Thanks so much!
I popped the front once when the back went out down a steep gravel road and the fornt popped on impact with a sharp stick sticking out of a log.
Oh my!
Riding the trails you ride dude you definitely need a maxxis double down, schwalbe supergravity or like the trailpeek guys run a WTB tough casing on the back. For winter in the uk I’ve been running a Magic Mary supergravity at 30psi with no issues. I’m 230lbs
Yep, definitely! This is a demo bike so I didn't want to go all out with changing stuff. After this I got new tires.
Haha what the heck!!
Great video! Tubes always suck, but still! 2 flats in one day?! Damn, that’s just bad luck!
Yeah, it was tough!
Title should be "This is why you always take TWO tubes if it's a long ride" XD Anyway, nobody of the squad had a tube to borrow you to complete the ride? :-(
Haha, or THREE TUBES!! The tire was compromised at that point and I felt like I would just blow out another tube if I borrowed someone else's gear.
XD
This was a sweet vid dude. The Rallon cockpit looks sweet with that super short stem!
Thanks Luke, it's a beast!!
"The running bail" - I smell a new t-shirt
Hahaha so many great ones!
Yes, if tubeless fails it can be a pretty crazy mess!
So nice them Give you a lift at the End Brian ;0) nice food again sweet Trail thumbs Up buddy ;0)
Thanks my man!!
What an adventure!! I found that since I got 2.3" tyres i get way less flats. Can't beleive you are thinking about flat pedals lol thought I would never see the day.
That's great! I never say never!
Guillermo is a really cool guy. good on him
Definitely a hero!
Loved the video man🤘 keep doing what you're doing, it's something special
Thanks Kyle, I appreciate that!
You should check out Strawberry Peak trail. It’s a nice loop with lots of exposure some climbing. It’s close to where you were riding in Mt. Wilson.
Nice, I'll have to look that one up!
The steepest decent, covered in ice, make sure the brakes will stop you! From a recovering drunk, welcome to alcohol.
Haha indeed!
Yeah Brian! Been loving your videos recently, didn't know you existed until a couple days ago hahaha. Keep it up man, also glad you're feeling better!
Hahaha thanks so much! Some of my best rides are in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLjr0xjHkkOZTHaLjW11vyf3zMFglUyybc
And if you're curious about my story this is a good playlist to watch: ruclips.net/p/PLjr0xjHkkOZTZjTOO--olm2k1jtBirrz0
BKXC Alright dude, I'll be sure to binge watch them hahaha. Keep up the good work man!
Randy from trail peek?! Killing’ me
Bro! Lol
P Argh hahaha I kno it's Zach and dane 😂
Haha
Woaw you met up with trailpeek, im a big fan of both your channels. Keep up the stoke!
Thanks dude!
Switching to flats lol. What an appropriate topic for this video. I'll stay tubeless (& clipless for now)! Great video.
Haha, yes! Thanks Ryan
Chilao loop stairs are a MFr.. but a damn good time.. Love my SoCal trails.
Haha yes! I love em too
Amazing landscape.
Thanks!!
Dude i would have stopped my car for you too! Yesterdays live stream was so great! I really enjoyed watching!
Glad to hear that Bock, always good to see you hanging out!
Well that looked awesome in spite of the technicals! I guess I don't have to ask Yahoo Answers if Zach is truly a beast anymore 😂
Hahahaha
I ride with tubes currently, because I dont have an air compressor, and it costs way too much to get it installed at my local bike shop
i bought $30 poratable compressor from cosco, that works
I feel ya on that!
i ride maxxis exo tires tubless, on roval rims with a normal air pump.. it works
Ah riding in So Cal, fun until you get a flat. Once I got a flat running a Kevlar banded tire, tire liner, and Slime. Freaking goatheads! Looks like fun though
Hahah yes
+BKXC a long time ago before the MASSIVE fire and rain that followed. You used to be able to go from Redbox to Switzer Falls to Gabrielino Trail to Aqua Canyon to Gould Mesa alllllll the way down to Millard Canyon where JPL is.
Rode this next part back in the day and can be joined from what I mentioned in the top..... I think. From JPL/Millard you could join it to Oak Grove Park go under 210fwy ride next to Upper Arroyo all the way to the Rose bowl parking lot.
Oh wow, that's pretty amazing!
BKXC ask Tommy or Chris if they ventured that portion. Think CORBA had done some recent work on a different portion that is supposed to be just as good.
Good one man !!! I now want to see Zack perspectives!!
I'm sure his video is coming soon! I want to see it too!
My advice to those who don't understand tubeless. Keep running your tubes until you need tubeless. For me one ride in thorn valley was enough.
I agree! A few other folks have chimed in with stories of running tubes for years. If it works, go for it!
Awesome day, with a little bit of everything
Definitely!! Thanks David
-Brian
P.S. I just realized I was logged into my other channel name when I posted this. Sorry for any confusion.
No stalking here. Just a fellow MTBer who enjoys Brian's videos, has more than one or two things to say about them, and tries to learn from them. We all have our own ways of doing things. It's all good. 😀🚵
But on other the hand - Brian if my style of commenting ever creeps you out or makes you feel like I'm stalking you, just let me know. I'll stop.
-Brian
Stuntman has been really solid. I have
POC Joint VPD Air knee pads. Very good ones!
Thanks Brian!!
Those big rocks ,this trail is derailer breaking and tyre blasting
