  • To perform the oil change for Opel Insignia 1.8 (140 Hp) Ecotec 2009 use the car jack to lift the car. Tripods are recommended for your own safety.
The oil used in this service was 5W-30 (recommended)
The filter used was Mann-Filter hu612/2x
    Steps
    1. Remove the oil cap
    2. Remove the drain plug and let it drain in a bucket for 5 minutes
    3. Remove the filter and the o-ring
    4. Replace it with the new filter and o-ring*
    5. Put the drain plug back on*
    6. Carefully pour in the appropriate amount of oil
    7. Check the oil level, add more oil if necessary
    8. Close the oil cap.
    * Use moderate force. It tightens up with temperature.

It is good practice to smear fresh oil on new o ring once fitted to cap before fitting to car

Not oil, but vaseline will do the trick better. Oil will tear down rubber eventually. But you cán use oil on cork/paper sealings!

Very accurate video! For Opel Insignia 2.0 (160 Hp) is the filter position the same?

Great video. But it is inconvenient to squeeze the oil filter and the fat cap too much. Thank you

I'm not sure how you haven't damaged the o ring for the oil filter.
You said do it up with moderate force...... actually, it only needs 24nm of torque which you could do with one hand
