My dad paid 86k in full for his ZR2 with every option. had 30 miles. He drives it ever day and puts 600 miles every weekend on it. Hit thoughts are, “I paid for it, I’m gonna drive it”
Ditto…got mine for 62. It was one of the show trucks and only had 200 miles on it. I love that truck. I had the 5.3 trail boss before and this 6.2 gets better gas mileage than the 5.3. Although the 6.2 has to have high octane fuel. I’ve driven through downtown Denver, St Louis, Cincinnati, no issues. A bit tight at times but with all the cameras it’s easy to navigate small spaces. I towed a bunch of crap across country, the largest UHall trailer available completely filled. The truck had no issue, you could barely even notice it was pulling anything. The only reason I got rid of my TrailBoss is because my daughter beat me off the line in a Nissan Juke and I couldn’t let that stand. One draw back is the hood cowling has a tendency to reflect light back into your eyes on account of its high gloss.
My neighbor bought 1 used with 25,000 miles at 28,000 miles he was one of the unlucky people to experience the cam phaser catastrophic failure 6 weeks at the dealer but warranty covered the engine will say by far this truck has the NICEST interior I’ve ever seen and is outfitted with the best 4x4 drivetrain I’ve seen on a factory truck I would buy this over a trx or raptor
It really isnt. It is a step above the tremor or rebel trucks but is in a different lane than a TRX or Raptor. Those trucks are more dessert runners while the Silverado fairs better on a trail particularly because it is not as wide and it has the front locker.
this was a really good display of this truck, thank you , my only knock is that it comes not with a extended cab and long bed witch is my preference I had on my 1984 S-10 and my 1995 Sonoma and my 2003 s10 ZR2 and my now everyday 2021 Colorado Zr2
You must be on crack. this is thousands less than a raptor. MSRP is one thing but you can get zr2s under 70k while I struggle to find a raptor under 80k. Real world pricing this is closer in cost to a tremor than a raptor.
Nice truck but the gas mileage is terrible; remember you have to factor in the weight of that truck to so the gas mileage that their saying you can get in it is way less. But thank God their are some gas stations that sell gas that last longer than other and don't burn off quickly. Can this truck be used as a daily driver ; absolutely yes.
What do you consider good enough gas mileage in a truck like this one that has 420 HP? I own a 2022 ZR2 and it regularly gets over 20 MPG when I just drive it normally. I'm thrilled with that. Really happy with this truck so far and have 22,000 on it. Drives and rides fantastic on or off road. Those DSSV shocks are amazing. This is the only new Chevy I have ever had in my life and I am pretty impressed with it. Have towed with it in the Rocky Mountains on a few occasions pulling my 25 foot trailer. When I scaled the two I was at 14,900 lbs GCWR which is 100 lbs less than the maximum. My remote camp site requires me to take it down about 5 miles of rough bush trails with 4 low and lockers engaged. It does it all without breaking a sweat. Gets between 9 and 11 mpg depending on wind conditions towing that 7500 lbs trailer. Nothing wrong with that.
@@Monothiest247 because if someone wanted a truck with a wider stance there is a Raptor or TRX. The ZR2 is a Daily Driver with good off-road capability. Making it wider doesn't make it much better off road and degrades it as a daily driver.
Good review covering the Silverado ZR2. My take from your review is that the Silverado ZR2 seems to be old school that will not hold its value long term. 14 MPG and $78k does not look like the better option the Chevy line offers. under the Silverado name plate. I am keeping an eye on the Silverado Trailboss EV, I figure that to be in the $80's k range and likely hold its value long term much better than any of the Silverado ICE offerings. I am willing to trade charging at home over night with premium fuel fill up at $5 a gal. I am going to sit this ZR2 ICE version out for now. Thank you for your Vlog review of the ZR2. Smart man
86k ouch they are 60k where I’m at brand new and that’s the 22-23s
For that you can get a fully loaded Z71 trailboss for 60-65 thousand.
You can get almost 20k off of these now.
Raptor ain’t that price. Markups and most are over 100k. Where you been?
😅
Not for that price
Yeah that price is insane.
Cheaper than a 392 Jeep
Had mine for a good year now. It's a trooper. Got mine in Blue for 72k
Is that the OTD price??

Who ever complain about gas mileage! Simple don’t buy 6.2 V8! 🤣 just go with Toyota Prius 😂😂
Can opt for 3.0 DMax, 30mpg
I bought one of these about a month ago. pretty special.. the multimatic dampers are awesome
You want more badges and I pull badges around the vehicle off. I like it clean looking.
Same. Badge free only way to roll.
I like the factory badges on there, I feel like the cheaper trucks come with less badges
The ZR2 is better with the 3.0L diesel for the 2024 model.

The cam phaser issue is for Ford.
These are notorious for eating cams.
00:10 …that’s not an All Terrain tire man, that’s an MT..! You guys should know better….🙄
This is to target the Tremor or Rebel package guys, not the TRX or Raptor....
I think that's what the trail boss is meant to do. This can keep up with the raptor and trx engine aside especially with the bison package.
It really isnt. It is a step above the tremor or rebel trucks but is in a different lane than a TRX or Raptor. Those trucks are more dessert runners while the Silverado fairs better on a trail particularly because it is not as wide and it has the front locker.
TRX and Raptor are open area / desert focused. ZR2 kept a “narrow” body to be more trail focused.

Just got the 2500hd bison with diesel. Cant wait tell it hits lot. I live in the ozarks so was lookin for a good off road farm Daily runner
Premium gas 🤦🏻♂️

Big disappointment,This dollar range, its TRX,it kills me as a gm loyalist,Thanks Mary Barra
The ZR2 also comes in 3.0 Turbo Diesel...not just the V8 option
No supercharger fuck that trx then
You dont need a laptop on a offroad truck. Just saying. Not a work truck
That truck is not worth the price no way
MPG is also terrible on em.
Not for the duramax 3.0 diesel - getting 26 mpg on n highway !
Great review and thoroughly explained! Does this vehicle have wireless Android Auto?
Yes
Just get a fully loaded Z71 Trailboss thats cheaper
That is clear
Yes it is!
80k for a stupid truck. No way.
Badges only raise the price! Keep the stickers off my truck.
Column shifter? bro...
I just bought a zr2 Bison with the 3.0 Duramax - drives amazing with the multimatics and yes it’s a daily driver . Paid $78K . Stickered over 83K
My friend just got his. Msrp was 84k. He paid 64k.
No. Unless you're a rancher or something
You can still get the column shifter
I will buy it used when it hits 200,000k milestones at $18k.

Got an idea Chevy. Give the zr2 a wider stance compared to other Silverado’s. Like how Ford raptors are wider than other f-150’s.

Is the truck use for personal use?
