  • There are a lot of good entry-level compound bows out there. The Bear Cruzer is a great beginner or youth bow, but versatile and capable enough for the experienced archer. There are a few variations with the Cruzer X, Cruzer, and Cruzer G2. If you're looking to get into archery, this is a solid option for your first bow. It will get the job done well without breaking the bank and without any unnecessary bells and whistles, and can last you for years to come.

    Very nice and thorough review! I have a 2015 Bear Cruzer that I originally bought with the intention of trading up later at some point but I it turned out to be everything I want in a hunting bow. I have harvested at least one deer with it every hunting season since I got it.( 5 hunting seasons) and I've harvested hogs with it as well. I did a review on it on my channel after owning it for three years. Not as thorough as yours but I was basically showing how well the thing shoots. Good luck to you on your next elk hunt! And enjoy the bow!

      That’s awesome! Yeah, if/when I feel that I can “out shoot” the Cruzer I will upgrade but for now it does what I need!

    I just bought this bow, (G2) I love it! I was shooting some bullseyes in the first 10 shots from 30ft. Never shot a bow before

    Great video and the single reason why I got this bow! Most definitely is great for the value. I blew up my cable slide and replaced it with a better one. In addition got a longer stabilizer for it and it’s been shooting great!

    I bought my Cruzer when first released. I have no reason to upgrade. A more expensive bow is a nice to have, not a must have.
    I'll bet the deer I shoot is just as dead with my $300 Cruzer RTH as the you dear shot with your $1000 + accessories.
    Spending that much money won't make your deer more dead nor will spending two or three times more on arrows or broadheads. Dead is dead.

    I bought this now mainly because I got it for $200 at a pawn shop. It had never been shot. A quick glance at a few videos told me it’s all the bow this old boy should ever need. It’s poundage adjustment range is important because I’m shooting low until I get my form right. Then I’ll focus on finding my ideal pull.

    Great review, glad you made it after using the bow for a year. Sadly I just returned my Cruzer G2 after a month of use due to what I consider some QAQC issues which I hope to not experience on the replacement they send me. I haven't seen any real bad reviews on the cruzer G2 yet and can't wait to continue my journey into the world of bow hunting.

    Great review mate , just got a bear legit , I’m a complete and utter novice, but I’m enjoying the learning curve , I’ve had some instruction from a mate who’s been using a bow for 20 years makes all the difference ps your 40 yard group pretty good , I’m getting there , I’ve yet to find an arrow that suits my style, ? That’s another subject , all the best mate from the uk 🇬🇧

      I love hearing about people getting into the sport! You are right about the learning curve, I’m not sure it ever ends 😄 I have been a big fan of the Gold Tip arrows, I shoot the Hunter XTs currently and they are solid for my needs. Cheers

    Hello good evening my name is Guillermo I am speaking from Panama my bear cruzer g2 bow has a problem when I pull it to shoot the top pulley it makes a two clip sound that could be already checked the screws and they are fine

      Hi Guillermo. That's a difficult question to answer... My best advice would be to try and find a shop with the the right tools and knowledge to diagnose and fix it properly. Good luck to you!

    • @nicko.7433
      @nicko.7433 4 года назад +2

      Bring it to a bow shop, unless you a very familiar with bows. Bows are difficult to work on even on the little stuff, let alone restringing the whole bow. If you do manage to do it however let me know.

    Awesome, Can you upgrade all that stuff you mentioned, cams etc ? Looking at something like this

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  4 года назад

      The cams are specific to the bow but most everything else can be replaced/upgraded easily (sight, rest, stabilizer, quiver, etc.)

    Much appreciate your perspective and review. What arrow spine do you use with your Bear G2 Cruzer?

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching! I'm shooting a 340 spine Gold Tip arrow. About 65 lb. draw and 28" arrows.

      @@mountainstandardoutdoors8673 Thanks I can check arrows that off the list. Very helpful and appreciated knowing the spine when I purchase arrows.
      I get my Bear Cruzer G2 this coming Tuesday. How much tuning is required out of the box? Did you take to archery shop to have it custom fit to your shooting requirements? Oh, and I am planning a elk and mule deer hunt and will be using this bow setup. With the bow being lite weight is see it as a bonus for all day stalk hunts.

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  2 года назад +1

      Yes I took it to a shop and had them help me tune it. They've got the knowledge and tools to make sure cam timing etc. are all set. They were surprised by how little tuning it needed out of the box.
      I'd probably recommend spending a few bucks on a better peep, and possibly a more substantial stabilizer, but that's about it.

    • @TomOnTheRun
      @TomOnTheRun 2 года назад +1

      @@mountainstandardoutdoors8673 Again very helpful. Peep sight, will take your advice and upgrade. Stabilizer: Duly noted and I'll add that upgrade as well. I'm sure the archery shop can help me with that.

    Your title says cruzer and cruzer x are they not he same?

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  Год назад +1

      To my knowledge the Cruzer and Cruzer X are the same other than some different finish/color options. If there are other differences they are minimal.
      And the G2 is the newer model since they phased out the Cruzer. Biggest difference between Cruzer and G2 is a 30" AtA length vs the 32" Cruzer. Thanks for watching!

    At full draw the lower buss cable touches the other one where it splits at the bottom. Is that normal? My nephews does.

    • @mountainstandardoutdoors8673
      @mountainstandardoutdoors8673  3 года назад +1

      Yeah mine comes into VERY light contact at full draw. Haven’t had an issue with it, but if it’s rubbing more than that you may want to have it looked at

    • @brianc6739
      @brianc6739 3 года назад

      @@mountainstandardoutdoors8673 I did more research on it. I found that it’s a normal issue. It’s because of its wide range of draw lengths. To fix it all you have to do is remove an even amount of twists from each buss cable. Thank you for replying!!
