Don't know if you read this but anyway, thank you Sean, you are life saver. Just got few days ago my first compound bow (cruzer g2). Here where i live (Poland in Europe) for every 100 archers there are only 5 maybe 10 but not more compound archers, most ppl here shoot recurve, longbows or asian. Shops here are pretty decent and guys there can fix and tune your bow (recurve, longbow and asian) but its hard to find someone who knows how to really tune compounds and if you find shop where they do it properly, you must go at least 100 miles to them. So i have bought all the tools i need to tune my bow but i must learn how to do it, most of the manuals are pretty vague. So considering all above i want to thank You again, you are life saver especially for a new guy with compound like me. Thank you and God Bless.

It helped me sort out my cam alignment and timing, as well as getting the other stuff square. That tuning made a good bow great.

Thank you for the tuning video. I bought the bow a couple of years ago getting some specific tuning advice about the bow is great.
Had the same issue with the peep sight, the top string holding it down came undone.
Here are a few minor things I noticed. String arrester needs to be monitored to make sure it does not move, even after using loctite on the screws holding it. Really have to be careful tightening the pins on the pin sight. By over tightening one of the pins I deformed the plastic so the it is a lot harder to adjust that pin in the location. Very small adjustment are almost impossible.
All that being said I like the bow and happy with it, and was successful hunting black-bear with it.

Sean, i bought a used G2 earlier this year and was super excited to get back into bow hunting (as i have been out of it for almost 15 years). While doing my best to tune it, catastrophy struck and the bow exploded in my hands. The riser snapped. Thankfully nobody was hurt- as i was drawing it back in the living room and my wife was only a few feet away. I contacted Bear and told them what had happened. They said i could send it in and they would give me a cost for repair. Bear comes with a lifetime warranty to the original owner but is not transferable. Bear went above and beyond- they sent me a completely new bow- free of charge. I have it paper tuned now and getting ready to start sighting it in. Your videos are coming in handy for me. I also love the scripture verses. What a great way to use your God given ability to spread the Gospel!

I don't have a bow press so it's difficult or impossible to do some of this at home but the smaller things are really good to know. Also nice to have the knowledge of how to do the rest so that if you take it to a shop for adjustment you know all of your needs are being addressed.

Sean, I've noticed both my Bear G2 Cruzer and Bear Paradox string stops move / twist off the string after shooting the bows after 20 plus shots. It doesn't seem to matter how tight I set the two screws that fix the string stop in place. Any suggestion or fix much appreciated.

    • @seansoutdoors

Sounds like you may have too much cam lean toward the other side..this can be fixed by adding twist to the correct yoke or shimming the cam when a bow does not have yokes.

Do I have this right? If your bottom cam is hitting BEFORE the top cam, then you add twists to the BOTTOM cam's cable (is that the cable end coming in from the top cam?). That will increase the top cam's rotation, right? And vise versa.

Without seeing it it is really hard to say what is going on. I would take it back to where you got it and show it to them. Maybe they can see what the problem is. Also, make sure that the there are no zip-ties on the string. Sometimes they put those on the string to prevent them from being drawn back in the store. God bless.

Sean, I’m using my new G2 Cruzer I noticed today that the string suppressor slides very easily, almost falling out by gravity - out of the socket. Upon closer inspection it appears that the set screws for the string suppressor are missing. I check my daughter’s g2 and they are missing too - completely different dealer. Is this right? Hers isn’t loose like mine, but I aim to call Bear tomorrow and get at least 6 set screws from them. Thoughts?

Thanks Sean, initially i thought the same, but I could see the threads in the socket. I called Bear this morning. Man, great guys, they told me they had an older production run where those screws were missing. We both got our bows on amazon, (we live on an island some stuff is hard to get-especially during coronavirus) and being that they were on Amazon leads me to believe that they might be an older run. Anyway they are going to send us set screws and additional suppressors. Something I feel they did not have to do. Still love the bow though! Vivat Christus Rex!

    Hello Sir,
Thx for your video. May i ask you something ? Years ago i bought a Hoyt Carbon Matrix. It is 50 till 60 pounds.
Due to an accident have not shoot for years. Also i have to be carefull with my spine. But i missed shooting. But due to a heavy accident lost a lot of my muscle. And can't hardly pull 50 pounds at the moment. Maybe 5 times after another.
Buying another bow that has a drawweight of 40 till 50 pounds is loosing a lot of money. Cause within 6 months i will probably be able again to shoot at 50 pounds and that maybe 30 shots.
Is there a good quality compoundbow that is also a pro bow but that has an adjustment from 40 till 60 pounds ? So i can invest in a gokd quality bow and that i use foor years ? F.e. just as good as nxt ?
The Hoyt Carbon Matrix is a solid good bow. But i think it is not a smooth bow. In time thjs will be ok but for now i could hurt myself.
Broke 4 spines in my back.
It could be that after awhile i have to quit shooting. But at the same time shooting a bow could be good for me. While building up muscle in the back. I have a lot of muscle atrofie. Muscle that died.
Or maybe i could replace the bolt for a slights longer ones and give the arms three or four extra turns ? I am not sure that this is even safe to do. I do not care if the arrow only gets 20 meter. I would be glad that i could use up strenght and as soon as possible replace the bolts to the original ones.
I find it very btw that bows have only incrementals of ten pounds. Why not f.e. a drawweight from 40 till 60 pounds ?
I have looked at pse , hoyt , Martin. But the more pro bows only have 10 pounds adjustment. And from what i have read i think that pse has the smootest pull. So maybe a pse is the best for me.
I never have shot another bow then my Matrix. And maybe this is a very stupid question. But could it be possible that a pse ntx at 50 pounds could be easier to pull then my Matrix at 50 pounds ? Logic must say that 50 pounds is 50 pounds. Maybe you have a thought about that.
In my surroundings i do not have the possibility of a shop. So buying another bow is all on me and by what i learn from other pro people.

    • @keesverhagen9227
      @keesverhagen9227 Год назад

@@seansoutdoors Thank you. I will look into that bow. To be true it is more the spine that is the problem. Broke it years ago on several places. Need 400 mG Oxy to get through the day. For years. A few years back stood on a ledge 30 meters above ground for a hour. But walked/stumbled away instead of the original plan. Sadly it is not possible to operate due to the complexity and very high risc. And the future is not so bright. Not for anyone. Not so much into the Biblical stuff. But due to a specific education i know that some terrible things soon will happen throughout the world. But people do not see that. Maybe that is for the best. Not sure about that to be honest. Almost every person will be fully monitored throughout every aspect of his or hers life.
In the Netherlands thjs year they will start with the European Digital Identifcation. In Sweden they start with a Carbon Footprint Monitoring system controlled by the government and the bankingsystem. Also combined with healthcare. And in Spain this year they will start with a centralised digital Euro currency. In 2024 France and Germany have to follow and in 2026 every country in Europe and by that those three systems will be combined. At the same time it will be rolled out to Canada and Australia. Also the US and the UK. In Europe they have already made deals between the bankingsystems and the larger groceries. A certain deal is about that all people have to be chipped before 2030. It is completely worked out already. Also that every major grocery has to install 400 till 450 camera's. And with that every purchase will be automatically billed on leaving the shop. But by then it is possible that your account will be blocked because of a persons max carbon footprint. A.I. can block your account or that you cannot pay anything when f.e. youre futher away from your home then 5 km'ter. It is an incredible complex system and by that there is nothing you can do.
No possibility to fight fkr any freedom. Cause they can instantly block your way to keep alive. Even much worse then the Social Crediting System in China. It is Elons goal to use Twitter for every transaction that comes along with the use of that system. He buying Twitter has nothing to do with free speech. It is just a cloak. So people will see it when it is to late.
I have read documents that getting chipped is ojt of free will but if you say no then you can not buy anything. Not even have a job.
So everyone will be forced to accept it and be chipped. The world is quickly going to be replaced into something where 99 percent of the people have to suffer. While it serves no purpose for the climate at all. Very weird things are soon to be happening. If people would see it and understand the complexity of that system they still could do something against it. But once it is operational then a potential fight is lost before it even started.

I ended up buying new strings for it because I couldn't get the draw length corrected, but I got the same results with the new strings. I did so much twisting on the canes and strings with no success. Then I have up and just accepted the draw length had to be set shorter to get the draw length I want.

Sean, I've always heard that a boat performs it's best at its peak draw weight. A 60-70lb draw weight bow performs better at 70lbs instead of let's say 65 lbs. What do you think? Since I've gotten a lil older and bows have gotten faster, I've drop my draw weight from 70 to 60 on my bows and shot 60 lb limbs. The last CPL of Mathews bows ive had with 60 lbs actually topped out at 62 lbs.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 лет назад

That is what even the manufacturers say. Some bows have a much larger drop in efficiency than others. I think Prime bows were the worst in efficiency drop the year I tested for efficiency. Some bows didn’t have much if any drop.

Awesome. I took my first deer with mine. That video is going to air in about a week although I don't think I talked about the bow in it. It will be the 5 pointer in the antler stories series I'm about to post. God bless

Perfect bullet hole....... but you completely missed the elk. :)

Maybe that is why there is no elk meat in my freezer.

How about a white background? Did you review your video before publishing? You point to components on your bow which leads me to believe you want a visual, but your background is the same as your bow which reduces the visual aide. Why wouldn't anyone consider this?

      Sorry to disappoint you

I guess that's why I'm just some guy filming himself in his basement and not a professional.

Not a disappointment. Pretty good tutorial. If you consider the visual more this would be, hands down, the most effective tutorial for bows.

Obviously, this video isn’t for an archery newbie.
