Hello I enjoyed this video and comparison a lot! I just got a used Sledge. It’s got a couple nice M2C goodies on it. I’ve been trying to figure out what to run tire wise. I’ve actually got a new set of Proline MX3.8 Badlands HP just like you used here. I’ve been thinking to buy stock box tires the sledgehammers and sell the prolines. I’ve had the prolines from a unused project. I think I’ll go stock. I actually might return the truck full stock as I don’t bash heavy and like stock cars for easy replacement/repair parts. 🇨🇦👋
Perhaps it depends on the surface you are running on. We now prefer the Arrma Backflip LP's as seen in this video: ruclips.net/video/rnFUmpqyKhw/видео.html 👍🏼
@@TeamRC3D I’ll check it out !
I have a completely stock Sledge minus motor fan And pro line badlands. I blew the stock tire (fr) on the second session (sessions were about 30 minutes) on a 4s pack! i put on the badlands and they actually have more grip on the dirt and asphalt. On asphalt she sticks too much and can’t whip her like the stock tires though. She still pops wheelies on 4s and easier on 6s in any environment.
These vehicles run negative camber and when you took the knobs off the inside of the tire, you’re eliminating useful traction.
I will never run the sledgehammers again. If i somehow blow the badlands, I’ll buy another set as they are way better.
And i pulled a faster top speed with the badlands over the stock tires. 58mph (badlands) vs 54mph (sledgehammers).
But this is my experience with the vehicle, to each their own.
We found centre diff issue in one of the trucks which was causing ballooning. Next week we will be releasing a video on that fix. But agreed the badlands are good
Traxxas did do a really good job with this truck but the 20 million weight diff fluid they put in the center all of the ones that I have seen opened up were just about empty and that's why the front tires balloon so bad so Right out the box most people have been opening it up and putting whatever they prefer in
We checked the blue truck and it was about 3/4 full so just needed a little top-up.
My E-revo I just bought was only about half full too.
Sorry - which part needs to be filled up?
@@philipp2314 The center differential
@@enigma9789 Thank you.
Hi we’re are you racing your sledges it looks great fun just got one my self and would love to meet you with you guys ?

Awesome bash great video. 😄
what is the part number of the original sledge wheel and tires? is it TRA8979?
I actually like that they are a bit narrower and they seem to perform similarly from your comparison
I have E-Revo and already have Trencher X which are 165x105mm, also have the old Badlands 3.8 non-belted that are 149x69mm but are maybe a bit short for the E-Revo
although it's fun how agile and fast it is off the line it's hitting the floor on some bigger rocks so thinking of some taller ones but want something narrower to have the better turning and the MX38 are almost as wide as the Trencher X so maybe no point getting those as a second set...and the original traxxas sledgehammer seems to actually have decent traction unlike the Talons that were on the E-Revo and needed replacing badly
We have now switched to using Arrma Backflip LP (or 4S) wheels & tyres on both trucks. They balloon a lot less and give more consistent traction. The only problem is they have a smaller offset so you need to use axle extenders to prevent the wheels rubbing the hubs. If you need more ground clearance there is also the 6S versions which have a taller profile tyre.
Hey bro, great vid...you guys are mkn it tough for me to not buy this rc🤦♂😆!! I already hav several lol. Try the wheelie bar for E-Revo 2.0...not sure if fits but its made to attach to the wing and is easily removable.
Sledge is great. Wheelie bars we believe are now available. Watch this space we may fit one
@@TeamRC3D I'd like to see you guys race the E-revo 2.0 against the Sledge!! I would recommend getting the Traxxas aluminum steering links and Toe links front and rear for durability for Revo bcus the stock ones pop off sometime. it should b a great race tho....you guys hav a great spot for off road rc racing!!!!
@@terrellgoldsmith206 When budget allows we may be able to!
@@TeamRC3D Ok sweet bros....believe me I know how tht is!!😅
A lot of ppl try to race the Revo 2.0 on high traction surfaces and complain about traction roll lol!!! you guys hav a race spot tht I believe will suit it fine. Should b a good time!!😎👍
They look like strong trucks
We had our first breakage on our last filming day!! But only a wishbone after a big crash
Hello, I have a question about these pro line wheels, do they need to be ventilated?
No. We prefer to leave them sealed so they can be cleaned without getting water inside.
Thank you 👍
Those tyres look knarly! 60% brakes should stop it rolling over. 👍🏼
And more finesse by the driver!
Are they the belted badlands or non-belted? That information helps. You say they are not ballooning so I'm guessing they are the belted versions as the non-belted balloon-like crazy.
These are the Badlands MX38 HP (the belted version) 👍🏼
If you know tires you’d already know that
they wobble ?
We are happy with them.
Hello from Germany. At first sorry for my bad english. The Badlands are better then the stock Sledgehammer
Yes agreed. Not quite as much grip but more stable and no ballooning, although we have found the red truck had hardly and diff oil in the centre diff
@@TeamRC3D would you recommend sticking with the 20mil diff oil or dropping to something like 1 million.
@@Bikebros27 if you run lighter oil it will spin the front wheels more when you wheelie and you need to be careful not to destroy the front tyres. I'd stick with 20m in centre. Check how much is in the diff as we found from factory one of ours had very little oil in
@@TeamRC3D tha me for the info will get some ordered up.
