I love my Sledge (original one) 70 bucks for belted tires NO!! Enough with the rv graphics lets just have a solid color and FIX the issues they refuse to ever fix anything the front of the body gets caught up in the bumper and they didnt fix it what a joke and they charge more for that. I just got the 6s Mojave they installed a newer esc and servo no price increase just improved the rc.
Truthfully, your battery wasn’t destroyed because it ejected. They smash into the back of the holder, the dents in the batteries will match up with the plastic. They can look like that without ejecting. It needs a small foam block between the two, and yes put those clips in!
I really like the Sledge and I own a few. For me, 70 bucks for belted tires is not a big deal. I keep multiple sets of tires and interchange them all the time. Proline belts, 100 bucks a set. I have them for my V1. Depending where Im running, Ill just swap them. The set you need is cheaper than the set it comes with, really. Just buy them. Color match aluminum, love it. I color swapped my V1 to green. Extemely satisfying when complete, but a quite pricey and very tedious swap. So, color match? Very good. I hear a lot of hate on the Sledge. Ive only ever had an issue with the stupid motor mounting through the bottom. But other than that, I like it. I beat the hell out of it too, and it keeps on going. Ill definitely buy a third one, price is fine in my opinion.
@@runwei_1999 I definitely chose this truck over a k6 and the xrt over the k8.. Traxxas make better looking rc's in my opinion. The only arrma that impressing me with looks is the kraton, everything else is ugly af
Enjoy greatly my slash 4x4 brushless. 4tec 2.0.trx4. Trx4m. Traxxas makes fun. Their prices are too high. Those are the max $ will spend on a scale toy. Love the parts access at my lhs. Traxxas is a great product. Always look forward to new traxxas trucks. Certainly will not be picking up these over priced trucks
Yea these new belted ones are a bit insane with the pricing. They do make incredible crawlers and their non belted higher end cars are phenomenal… the belted price just isn’t worth it… vent your tires and theres hardly any pizza cutter action anyway
What I don't like about my Sledge is that it does not handle well. It is very sloppy compared to my other Truggies. Even though it is a basher I still want better handling. It's just not a machine that was born from a racing backbone. It's way overpriced for having a stamped metal chassis. Wish I would have bought another XMAXX instead. XMAXX is my favorite basher.
Why do they put an open spur gear on the bottom of the chassis question for you? Have you gotten stuff stuck in those gears when you're driving it around or is it go so fast that it just spits the debris out? I don't understand why they don't have a cover for it
The opening is to actually let rocks and debris out. If it was closed off, it is far more likely something would get wedged in from the top and cause more damage.
Worse tires for bashing on a basher and BOLD NEW COLORS! Lucky Traxxas only charged $70 more for it. This is a truck for Traxxass fans only. Unless you already have the Kagama and 6S Kraton EXB and still have to much extra money there's no reason to buy a Sledge. It's a turd compared to either of them. Pay much more for way less truck.
If they had an ESC that doesn’t have a 50/50 chance of bricking itself on the first run and a motor mounting system that allowed for different size motors, as well as a heat sink & fan, and a faster servo, it might be close to a Kraton. I’d still choose the Kraton though, and this is coming from a 3-year Traxxas fan.
@rcdriver back in my day you could get a traxxas 2wd kit stampede for i believe around 100 bucks! First monster truck i ever owned. I remember how big it felt driving around in my yard. They are tiny compared to the monsters offered nowadays but I still believe traxxas 2wd stampede is one of the most fun trucks made!
Call and explain, Never hurts and you'll establish a communication line with traxxas in case you need the 30 day warranty. I did within 2 runs! -great trucks but s happens.
Kraton is way better traxxas metal is complete garbage looks pretty but will bend easily...the sledge built with m2c chassis reverse motor Mount hardened gears better drive shafts is a complete beast but stock is trash!
I have been a machinist and production Mgr. for most of my life.OK....Someone please explain how an exposed gear being chewed up by ultra hard rocks has even made it past the Design department. So blatant they want to sell gears to the idiots that would actually buy something that ridiculous. Too keep the rocks out???? Seal up the gears you stupid millennial designers. wow
The open chassis design under the spur has been used for over 40 years. In forward motion, the opening will rarely gather up rocks. The opening is there to eject rocks coming in from above. Manufacturers found that with a closed chassis, rocks were far more likely to wedge themselves between a closed chassis and the spur. The result would then be broken gears or even damaged electronics if the user keeps on the throttle with the drivetrain locked up.
Yea the MAXX is pretty sweet. I like hitting hard turns and just carrying one of the front tires. The xmaxx does the same thing but with even more suspensions travel and with more control. Both are incredible trucks
The day i drove the max ,a golf cart snuck up behind me. You guessed it. Full throttle from 100 plus feet into parked golf cart. The bumper of the max took the hit. No damage to max and no damage to golf cart. Was expecting to write 2 checks that day. Had emaxes from 20 plus years ago. The max completely blows the emax away every way possible. My trx4 goes to work with me every day till winter. Got over 300 plus hours run time on it. Very few broken parts. The trx4 does not like driving submersed in creek. The motor and esc and servo had a melt down and the esc went up in flames. Oops.
I love traxxas but their marketing is so backwards. They go HARD marketing their anodized color coded parts but then they all but hide important updates like when the Xmaxx got bigger bearing carriers about a year ago. That’d be a full blown “v2” if it were an Arrma
Biased much? So bigger bearing and Arrma would make it a different version 😂😂 clearly you have never paid attention enough to see there's typically 6-10 noticeable changes with each Gen of Arrma rigs. I love all my traxxas, Arrma, Corally, and losi rigs though Traxxas HAD BEEN the slowest to upgrade stuff on their rigs....everyone knows this. Case and point... This Sledge has belted tires and it's somehow a new version because there's some different color parts.... Absolutely a MONEY grab, nice move Traxxa$$
Typical Traxxas. Do a bare minimum upgrade on an already overly expensive vehicle with old tech and charge even more for it. Traxxas and their crappy servos... My TRX4 has had 3 of the 4 servos replaced out of necessity. The other one was replaced out of convenience. Lol. I'm glad I got the 6S Kraton instead of the sledge when I was looking for a basher last year. I'll give em credit. Their customer service team is helpful and nice. Their hands are just tied extra tight with what they can actually do...
Charging more money and not fixing the main problems, way to go screw your customer Traxxas. Same bullshit chassis that bends as soon as you look at it
True. In general among all manufacturers, are center top braces just for looks or do they actually help. On my arrma mojave center to brace seems to be for looks as that chassis still bowed😢

Arrma is putting the new 6s ESC from the Bigrock and Kraton EXB in all the 6s rigs now. No mention of it from them. I only found out when I picked up a second infection on sale last month and took the body off. Best part, they didn't raise the price. The V 2.5 4s Outcast and Kraton both dropped $20 in price in the U.S. when launched. I used to buy only Traxxas. Once I bought my first Horizon rig I saw the light. This is a perfect example of why. I'll never buy another one as long as it's crappier tires and bold new colors to justify a $70 price increase in an already overpriced rig. There were legit deficiencies to address rather than adding worse bashing tires on a basher.

Yes! It rips on 4s and is alot easier to control vs 6s
