Love it when you go out on your adventures and don't care too much about award-winning shots. Enjoying the outdoors, great experiences to remember, and the rest will fall into place (or not - but it won't matter). That said, I love most of your images of the day!
Landscape photography at it's core: get out, enjoy the moment and open your eyes as you go along... Bye the way, i like the all serie of images. Very cool, thanks for sharing
I really enjoyed this video, as I love to hike with my camera also. I really like the tree on limestone, and field of yellow flowers leading of into the distant landscape.
Nice hike! The photo with the sheep was my favorite followed closely by the viaduct. Well done. I teach a little workshop called Photography on the Go and I talk about being ready for photography even during activities where photography is not the goal - be ready and shoot when you see something that catches your eye. It's not always about the award winners but the memories.
A collection of images that would make up a complete portfolio that most landscape photographers would be proud of - T. Heaton is still No. 1 in my books !!
One of your best vlogs wandering on your toes, fast paced, little time to react to photo oportunities, quick shots from the hip as we say, and there is always that chance of the portfolio keeper, somewhere in between. Embrace all situations because even with fast thinking mind and not much time to react and setup to a good shot, even if you fail, you learn so much on a trip like that, especially with a good friend along the way, ATB.
Really enjoyed this Thomas. Did the challenge for charity on two occasions in the 90's and loved it (despite my creaky knees). You brought back many memories of some great mates (some no longer with us) so a huge thanks for sharing your trek.
As someone who loves and practices street photography, that simple silhouette of the hikers down the slope is my favorite. I agree that last shot is beautiful. Oh, and who doesn't like a good time with friend doing things you love together.
Whoever does the marketing for the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge has done a great job of making people think that they're the three tallest in Yorkshire. But as Meatloaf said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
Thomas ... been a long time follower of yours and enjoy every year getting your calendar for my office. I've never commented before, but wanted to share with you (since you've expressed such struggles with producing content for the RUclips monster) that this was one of my all time favorite videos. I too took to landscape photography (for me very much just an armature ) as something that complimented my love of hiking, backpacking and the outdoors. This was one of your most organic videos of what we experience when blending these two passions together. Keep it up and don't worry about the perfect RUclips cinematic video -- this one was perfect! -ck
You might not think it portfolio worthy, but the viaduct picture really talks to me, I love it. At least you now know where to go if you want to reshoot it.
Great video as always and lovely shots. I like the viaduct pic best myself. I’ve done the challenge but not in one day lol 😃 too much for me in one day 😃 really well done.
I love this type of photography. Get out and just have fun...any keepers are a bonus. My favs were the first mono image, the viaduct, the lone tree on hill, the silhouette of the walkers, forth (looking down on tree next to wall)📷❤️
This is what ordinary non-professional photographers do. You take the walk or challenge and make the best photography you can at the time whilst walking. The Ribble Viaduct B&W shot gets my vote.
Loved doing the three peaks. Done it three times, went photographing it once. The weather started off reasonably on that time, though the haze because absolutely unbearable later in the day- solid 20-25c day with haze so thick you couldn't even see much of the tops in the distance, just blackened mounds protruding into the sky. Great video that brings back memories!
We very much enjoyed this one. Needed a break and a mental getaway and this was just so lovely and refreshing. And so many laughs and smiles on your faces. My husband and I were fortunate to visit and camp in Yorkshire once and I had the best fish and chips of my life there. Now I want us to go back and tackle these peaks. Cameras at the ready. Thank you for yet another inspiring video.
Some really good images there …. I liked the viaduct image the best, but some other very good shots. Often landscape photographers are aiming for a single “perfect” shot, but often a variety of lesser images, that collectively tell a story can be just as rewarding!
Wonderful images - the viaduct is my favourite and a good lesson in how to capture an object of scale by getting away from it rather than trying to capture it close up.
Wish I had legs that strong, it looked like a great hike, no wonder you are exhausted. Loved the viaduct image & the barn. That long lens in the wind can’t have been easy.
That looked like a ton of fun Thomas. How ironic that I watched this on a day much like you described: windy, cloudy, sunny. There is one very big difference, it is 33C (90F) here in north central Texas. Think I'll pass on the forced march and just go with the pub. Cheers.
Nothing like a good peak bagging trip. 25 miles is healthy hike! Especially climbing three peaks! Thanks for sharing, looks like it was a memorable trip.
The viaduct shot ist outstanding! 🥰 I'll watch the video some times more...perhaps my german brain will learn to understand even some words of Higgi. 🤭
Well done to the pair of you for completing the hike and I think you have a couple of images that could be contenders. My favourites were the one of the walkers on the hill and the tree that the had the fleeting light catching it
Hi Thiomas. As you have a great eye for composition, all of the imagss you've put up here are worthy and considerable. Loved it. Cheers from down under
Great to see the challenge you both took. My favourite image was the barn towards the beginning - third shot in I think. Love grabbing shots on the go like that sometimes.
I did Ingleborough last April and part of Whernside and Pen-Y-Ghent in September. Motorhome prepped now with a partial plan to drive there tonight or tomorrow. Hope to get some great light wherever we end up. No portfolio shots in this video I think, but that's not what it's about. Every photo will evoke a memory in the future and that will mean everything to you then.
I liked the monochrome shot of Ribblehead and the lone barn. Doing the three peaks of Yorkshire is not to be sniffed at, foul weather and blisters ruined my only attempt. I have walked up Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent individually since but not Whernside
Three Peaks, two blokes and a lifelong friendship....Champion!
Excellent as always Thomas , made me smile. The viaduct shot is my favourite.
Thanks a lot, Andrew. glad you enjoyed it.
Another "sheep photography" trip, love it. Thanks.
Love it when you go out on your adventures and don't care too much about award-winning shots. Enjoying the outdoors, great experiences to remember, and the rest will fall into place (or not - but it won't matter). That said, I love most of your images of the day!
Great fan,🎖💫

Some of my favorite photos of yours. They seem less “fabricated” just a amazing moment in time.

Nothing like spending the day with a good friend
Great stuff, walking with photography, mates and moody weather (but with out actual rain)! Hope you found a decent pub 👍👍👍
Loved climbing the 3 Peaks in 12 minutes. Really liked the Ribble Viaduct - looked almost abstract. Thank you.
Brilliant as usual, I also like the Viaduct photo as fav.
Thomas! You’re the best. Haven’t watched you in a while. But back on it.
I really enjoyed this video, as I love to hike with my camera also. I really like the tree on limestone, and field of yellow flowers leading of into the distant landscape.

Loved the zoomed-in lit up tree with the dark sky background
#1 Viaduct! B&W makes the image exceptional!

Great video and I'm another vote for the viaduct shot. Great work.
👍👍 The black-and-white viaduct photo is great
loved the image of the viaduct - the light was amazing in it. Thank you for sharing your journey - take care and be safe out there....
Thanks for taking us along. The impromptu shots were interesting and kudos to your friend
the first two and the viaduct one were my favourites. very nice indeed.
I like the viaduct and the hikers backlit on the Ridgeline. Thanks.
Very fun, good energy! I love the viaduct image, I'd be happy having taken any of those photos. Good day, a pub is well deserved. Cheers.
One of my favorite videos from you :)
I really liked seeing you photograph on the fly without all the long setup of the tripod.
Really enjoyed this Thomas. Did the challenge for charity on two occasions in the 90's and loved it (despite my creaky knees). You brought back many memories of some great mates (some no longer with us) so a huge thanks for sharing your trek.
Thanks, Tim. well done for completing it twice 👍 Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great fan,🎖💫

That was fun. Glad you finally got a shot of the viaduct that you like.
As someone who loves and practices street photography, that simple silhouette of the hikers down the slope is my favorite. I agree that last shot is beautiful. Oh, and who doesn't like a good time with friend doing things you love together.
If this channel is turning into a Top Gear esque style challenges but with photography instead of cars... I am 100% on board with it
I love it! Just living in the moment
The shot of the viaduct made it worth it I'd say. Lovely photo
Whoever does the marketing for the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge has done a great job of making people think that they're the three tallest in Yorkshire. But as Meatloaf said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
Nice photos and walk. Appreciate that you mix it up on your channel. 👍

The viaduct was gorgeous but my favourite was the B&W of hikers descending the fell 👌
The drystone dyke and the cottage was my favourite.
You might not think it portfolio worthy, but the viaduct picture really talks to me, I love it. At least you now know where to go if you want to reshoot it.
I’m not big fan of B&W image, but the viaduc is my favorite image. It’s really a fresh and nice video that makes me smile a lot. Thank Thomas.
I really like the image of the viaduct. Thanks for all the great videos over the years, I watched all of them at least once.
Great video as always and lovely shots. I like the viaduct pic best myself. I’ve done the challenge but not in one day lol 😃 too much for me in one day 😃 really well done.
B&W of Ribblehead Viaduct is a keeper.
I love this type of photography. Get out and just have fun...any keepers are a bonus.
My favs were the first mono image, the viaduct, the lone tree on hill, the silhouette of the walkers, forth (looking down on tree next to wall)📷❤️
Time spent with an old friend, beautiful scenery, and photography…is there a better way to spend a day? Loved it.
There’s a special feel to handheld, in the moment landscape photography.
I liked the aquaduct photo the most! Respect for the walk you did!
You’ve done it Sir ! The viaduct has, in the end, its perfect shot !!
It was lovely seeing the Yorkshire Dales again. Lived in Kettlewell for nigh on 4 years.
Terrific video. Loved the first barn and the sheep and tree.
Thank you. 👍📷😎
Classic Heaton vlog and why I watch the Chanel. Amazing opportunistic images that inspire and motivate. Some absolute belter images. Well done higgy!
1 minute in, and I'm hooked. What a great challenge

Thanks for another. A walk with a friend. Doesn’t get ant better.
I think I loved the first one and the last one, real nice
I also was a hiker before I discovered photography. This video captured the joy I feel when I’m out on a trail. Thank you!
Your photos are fantastic, whether from the hip or meticulously created. You are a true artist!
A cracking video and I enjoyed the opportunistic images, especially the lone barn and the last image with the yellow flowers in the foreground.
The viaduct photo is clearly my favorite, a great shoot. And a very nice video as usual!
So nice to be out with friend from Uni and fantastic photos of the area 😊 loved the video one of your best, that little house in the field loved it
We very much enjoyed this one. Needed a break and a mental getaway and this was just so lovely and refreshing. And so many laughs and smiles on your faces. This channel is top man. So much more than photography
The last photo is my favorite.

The viaductphoto is great!
Wish I had legs that strong, it looked like a great hike, no wonder you are exhausted. Loved the viaduct image & the barn. That long lens in the wind can’t have been easy.
Fun Video Sir to watch.... Love how you seemed so relaxed and having the bests of time in nature and with a good friend and camera in hand!!
That looked like a ton of fun Thomas. How ironic that I watched this on a day much like you described: windy, cloudy, sunny. There is one very big difference, it is 33C (90F) here in north central Texas. Think I'll pass on the forced march and just go with the pub. Cheers.

Great again! Thanks for sharing! Personally, I like the tree and the sheep photos 😄
Nancy and I both think the viaduct image is a keeper
Nothing like a good peak bagging trip. 25 miles is healthy hike! Especially climbing three peaks! Thanks for sharing, looks like it was a memorable trip.
It was great, but it took its toll. I'm not as young as I was.
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto Yeah I can imagine. That was a LOT of altitude change.
Thd viaduct image is a keeper.
Really enjoy this. Looked like a load of fun. Inspiring!
Enjoyable video, Thomas. I think you got it - Ribble Viaduct.
Enjoyed the video, Thomas! The viaduct image is a keeper!!
The viaduct shot ist outstanding! 🥰
I'll watch the video some times more...perhaps my german brain will learn to understand even some words of Higgi. 🤭
What a great day, you and your college bestie and a grand challenge. Thanks for sharing.
I share your creative block over the much-vaunted Ribblehead Viaduct Thomas. However, I did like the distant shot that you took.
4:52 cannot BELIEVE you missed out that incredible tree!
This is probably my new favorite video of yours (and some of my favorite photos!). Really got a kick out of it!
Well done to the pair of you for completing the hike and I think you have a couple of images that could be contenders. My favourites were the one of the walkers on the hill and the tree that the had the fleeting light catching it
Fun video and you captured some great memories.
If I was to pick one as a fav, it would be the barn with the stone wall as a leading line.
Now that’s a walk, dang! All the images were awesome but the viaduct image was my fav 👍🏻
Hi Thiomas. As you have a great eye for composition, all of the imagss you've put up here are worthy and considerable. Loved it. Cheers from down under
Fun ! Loved the Viaduct shot!
Great fun
Been away from photography for a year… new kid in the family takes my time away. Thank you for reminding the beauty of landscape photography!
Ah, nice one. some things are more important than photography.
Excellent video Thomas and the 4 images posted at the end are definitely keepers 👍
Enjoyed the viaduct photo. That is a keeper.
The viaduct pic is amazing!
Great video and beautiful scenery! GoPro footage was fine, it’s about the story! :)
Great to see the challenge you both took. My favourite image was the barn towards the beginning - third shot in I think. Love grabbing shots on the go like that sometimes.
That was quite an upbeat slog! Enjoyed all the photos. Even if they don't end up in your portfolio, they sure have memories attached to them!
I'm exhausted just watching. Carry on. 👍🍻
Sheep picture with the tree one was really good. The best one was the barn in the field. Good job as always Tom.
I liked the monochrome shot of Ribblehead and the lone barn. Doing the three peaks of Yorkshire is not to be sniffed at, foul weather and blisters ruined my only attempt. I have walked up Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent individually since but not Whernside
They're all good photographs. Regards
