There's some massive round backed spiders with jagged legs and a red mark on them that live there. They used to inhabit the box outside the door. Proper nasty looking things! That's would be on my mind all night!
When we lived in Dumfries, there was a place almost identical up the valley behind our house. It really was magical,right on edge of Forest of Ay. Like you, I spent many happy hours dreaming about, sorting it out & living there. Just found your channel today,where you were looking at places in London & then the £12,000 house! Its a national scandel - ALL successive governments since the 2nd World War have allowed huge swathes of perfectly descent homes/houses to stagnate & end up in the state you were showing. Claiming money pits are worth £20/30+ thousand,when they uninhabitable without full restoration, starting with new roofs?! They ripped the hearts out of all those community's and blamed it on unfortunate individuals who never stood a chance,while greedy corrupt councillors/local MPsetc take bungs ,whilst doing NOTHING on a practical level. I'm 59 ,I've had a blessed life growing up all around the world,seeing Germany,Japan and even Italy, I have to seriously wonder who really won that despicable 2nd world war! I grew up in Chelsea,London & have always had a base in this area my whole life; its SO easy to loose perspective on the state of the rest of the country.pariculary when you don't drive. Many of thise derelict homes you show shoukd be conficated from councils/suppoed land lords & sold of for £5,with intrest free grants to help first time/new owners to revamp them,on condition they AND THEY ALONE ,live in them for minimum of 10 years; to incentives the establishment of new neighbourhoods - SAFE,,place for owners to live? They have similar schemes in other places in Europe, which prove it works. Your programs are areal eye openers,keep up the fight/good work. Loved going with you on your ramble to the ruined mill and tiny house. In my younger days, I did the same in the mountains and valleys of Vermont (USA). There's something remarkably peaceful about such places, the rugged scenery (and the day was perfect), that cleanses the soul and nourishes the spirit. So it used to be a cotton mill. But I don’t know why it was built in such a mad location. I guess the top of the valleys was much more prosperous back in the day, and it is high up

I was in the 'light' valley forest at Hebden Bridge. I walked to the other side way above Hebden when I came across a ruined old farmhouse. Like you I took a wee look inside, found some cellar stone steps and began to go down when I heard a sound that stopped me dead ! Large wild cat !!!! No mistaking that sound !!!! I backed off slowly up the steps and made it back to Hebden park alot lot quicker than I went up ... ' so be careful '
So many memories .As a child we used to go for walks up there and then onto old Nazebottom Church. Shame but understandable that the walls are being brought down. But thanks for sharing your walk with us.

Back in the day before mobile phones 🙃👍 I remember them days.lol. Looks really cold ,need a bobble hat out there I bet. Ted is cute is he a pomarinarian? Yorkshire more adventurous than Lincoln it's pretty flat with an exception of one steep hill to the castle and cathedral.
The terracing is elaborate and contains a number of niches that were used for skeps (portable beehives made out of rope or wicker). Other than that, we have no further information about its history

Great walk on a day like that..Great little house u found there. I was up on the cliffs recently on East Coast of isle of man n found an old stone fire place, last remains of a dwelling from donkeys year. Keep up the good work pal👍🙂

Back in the day before mobile phones 🙃👍 I remember them days.lol. Looks really cold ,need a bobble hat out there I bet. Ted is cute is he a pomarinarian? Yorkshire more adventurous than Lincoln it's pretty flat with an exception of one steep hill to the castle and cathedral.
He is a Pomeranian yeah. Yeah so hilly doing here, I’m not a fan of flat places really, I like the different perspective you can get with hills

The terracing is elaborate and contains a number of niches that were used for skeps (portable beehives made out of rope or wicker). Other than that, we have no further information about its history
