This reminds me of the saying "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." How does Dan renovate a chateau? One day at a time. Well done Dan!
Well said! 👍
Amen
Really amazing, Dan! Especially when you see it all summarised in one go. You’ve done so much, mostly on your own! Congratulations
Why would you kill an elephant to eat wtf also it would go rotten after a few days ! Who says that !
interesting, well put too!
Being able to put together what the industry calls a "clip show" with that much progress is quite impressive.

Good for marketing purposes for other builders who might donate some of their work in order to claim participation in this historic effort. Multi-win. 🎉
Not just the hard work restoring this chateau but also the brilliant filming needs applause ❤
I know you do filming Dan ,but who is the camera man doing filming on you working ?
@@maureenivory342??
Just imagine how the world would improve if it was full of Dans! A wonderful, intelligent, funny, hard working, resilient man who is loved by us all. Can’t wait for the next 150 days of Dan’s life at the château!
it is.That is why everything is falling apart. Trash builders
It’s unimaginable how far you’ve come and unimaginable how far you’ve got to go Dan. God speed young man.
Yes he's doing well and mostly on his own, but there is a lot more in front than behind, hopefully he can get the roof on for the first third of the house where he has most of the floors in so he has got inside work to do over Winter, can't see him doing the Stairwell till next year at present and it's already nearly the second week in August!?!
You say both are "unimaginable," but someone had to imagine it, and turn imagination into reality every step of the way (with occasional help from some good friends)! That would be Dan! 😉
He's got the hardest part handled. Envisioning the task, and getting started on it. Dan is doing an awesome job, and putting a lot of pride and love into it.
No speed ! I don't like people to have to much pressure.
With such a project it is so important to stop and look back periodically at how far you've come. It helps you realise the progress and is encouraging. I even found myself saying wow I forgot about that, and that and that and oh yeah and THAT.
Dan it was a 150 days worth watching all.
We were all very proud of your achievement.
Well done the chateau will be a home you can be proud to own
I think the building’s history was kind of a deciding factor. A building with that history needed preservation.
You have changed Dan, during your renovation process, to being Dan the man who can. You have grown up, as you build your lady up. You have also built muscles up, that you never knew you had I am sure? It really is quite remarkable what you have achieved in the last 6 months! Nick and Cameron and Calvin have been such great help, as you progress at break neck speed. Keep safe, and keep on truckin' young man. xxx
I have been doing property repairs for the last 20 years and I can totally understand why you took this job on daunting as it is. What a beautiful building and setting. A real Labour of love.
Dan, you've brought the blood and sweat, while the rest of us are bringing the tears as we watch the transformation of your castle. Well done, you!!
Wow, thanks Dan for the recap it's really amazing how much you have accomplished!!!😊 They need your help over on Maui!!! We all need to say prayers for the folks that have lost so much, God Bless them all !!!
Yes! My son lost his place in Lahaina: burnt to a crisp! And his best friends next door. Thank God they are alright😂❤
@@allisonutsch8898 so,so,Lucky 🍀 you still have your son!!! So many are unaccounted for, I pray for your son and everyone else in that beautiful little town!! God Bless
God help Lahaina please if you're up there!
So sad and tragic, too much loss, too much pain😢
Indeed. They only have foundations left for the footprints of buildings. Seeing nothing else left of multiple apartment blocks is disturbing.
NEVER, did I ever think I would learn to restore a Chateau! Ha! If only I was in my 30’s and found an opportunity to do what you are doing. You are incredibly multifaceted in your knowledge-and you have a sense of humor!
Congratulations, Daniel you are an amazing, brilliant, handsome man with the ability to entertain and charm your community, WHILE, you renovate your Chateau, again, congratulations!!!
Wow Dan!! What an astounding accomplishment in such a short time. Not only have you been restoring this beautiful chateaux, but also been working on the farmhouse, helping Stephanie, and building the Yurt for you to live in whilst renovations are undertaken. You truly are an inspiration to many of us. The wonderful work and help from Nick, Calvin and Cameron and Kat and everyone else who has helped Dan to get to where he is. If more people can help Dan out with the next 150 days, imagine what could be achieved. More hands make lighter work.
I'd be there helping if I was living in France.
Cheers to Dan 🎉🎉🎉
I've been here from the start and watching your progress in awe from Australia 🇦🇺
Amazing progress with the help of Nick and his machines, Cameron, Calvin (orange pants man), your neighbour and the “bee man”!
Lots and lots of good Karma sent to you every step from us here too.
❤
150 days went by very fast. Somehow watching at this speed makes me more tired. And worried, you seemed to take some chances with your well being. So glad to be on the journey with you. Congratulations Dan! 🎉🎉🎉🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Every episode, you don’t see how much has been done. But when you put it all together, it’s amazing what you’ve accomplished.
"And just as the Phoenix rose from the ashes she too will rise
Returning from the flames clothed in nothing but her strength
More beautiful than ever before".
So much achieved in those 150 days Dan and you’re channel has grown so much too, here’s to the next 150 days !
Totally agree.
I’ve been delightfully with you from the first gate opening. The shock of the chateaus condition thru to admiring her great bones. Such skilled friends helping from the dedicated Orange pants, talented Cameron and of course the legendary tree man himself, Nick. Thank you Dan for taking us on this satisfying look back journey of skill, determination ,creativity and dedication. I just can’t wait to be invited through the doors into an amazing finished home. I worry about you lots, and hold my breath as you lift, take a back step, or just crawling around up there. Such an inspiration to watch, thank you Dan.
Most people seeing the chateau for the first time, when you did, would have thought: Such a shame its so far gone. You've already brought it to the point where anyone can see completion is achievable, on the same level as building a new house. That's broken the back of the project. I'm sure there's plenty of problem solving still to do and many long hours of hard slog. Having your yurt and this much progress must ease the pressure a bit. Get the roofing over this first wing and then you can glide on the wind, so to speak. Good on you.
This compilation must have been so encouraging to edit together; the amount of work it reflects is truly remarkable. You've accomplished a lot in a short period of time, Dan, and it's been a great pleasure watching the progress. I remember when you only had a couple thousand subscribers, and while there've been many tough days, you've inspired many of us. Thanks, and congratulations.
I'd forgotten how big some of interior trees were. Just the sheer amount of work to remove debris is wild. Thanks for a look back.
It was incredible how many and how big the vegetation was inside.
Missed that big tree up there 🤣!
I forgot just what the chateau was like before you started. Did it ever seem daunting? I never doubted you Dan! Between you and your friends, you are doing a fantastic job! Power to you! Thanks for taking us along!😊
Flabbergasted at the extent of your achievements in restoring your dilapidated chateau. Just the planning alone is mind boggling to me. What a legacy you are creating for Jack P and Thomas! Congratulations on all your achievements in 150 days of blood, sweat and tears of joy! See ya tomorra. 🙏❤️
We miss you on utube. From South Africa
SOOO much work! And we've been privileged to see the progress EVERY DAY. Great job, Dan!
Amazing transformation already. And it’s only the beginning. Truely wonderful to see it coming back to life. Great job Dan (and friends). 😊
Bloody hell. It's only when I watched this it reminded me of how much has been accomplished so far by Dan (and with help from friends at times). I'd completely forgotten about the bee nest. It's become addictive watching Dan. His "good morning" and "see you tomorrow has become part of my life. Well Done Dan. I'm excited to see what happens in the upcoming months ahead.
I have to say, you did remarkably well. I imagine that a small firm of professional external builders wouldn't have gone so far so quickly and so entertainingly!
It is wonderful to re-watch the amount of clean up and repairs you have made. The thousands of hours, the tons of dirt and ruble moved, the number of trips made to purchase tools and supplies. Absolutely amazing! Congrats Dan
That is a very serious undertaking. Seeing the many tons of dirt that were filling the structure, the trees, the rusted out I beams, and the brick and stone work that needed to be done. That's definitely a huge challenge. Great work.
Dan when you look at this and think that it took you 5 months to get this far and all that rubble you had to move and floors to put in, is incredible and it is amazing with everything else in between the garden, the yurt, making your daily vlogs, bee removal etc etc You are amazing and Dan take your time, slowly slowly take rests, you are amazing and we appreciate your videos and what you and your team do Nick, and the others that have helped just relax and enjoy your chateau build and thank you for sharing with us. Lord knows how much you will get done in the next 150 days if you have done this in these 150 days. Have a lovely week end.
Very well said. I hope Dan reads this. He’s working so incredibly hard.
What a lot of hard work has gone into this renovation so far. You are all heroes. Cant wait to see the next 150 days of reno.
When you first started, I thought you were crazy for taking this on and even crazier for the amount you were doing with no help. There have been several times that i have been on the edge of my seat watching and had to remind myself that you clearly lived through the day because you posted a video. You continue to create quality and compelling content while breathing new life into a beautiful disaster of a building. Please keep going and thank you for bringing us along on your adventure!
He’s crazy 😜
But sometimes it’s something good
🤩✨💫
No help?!
Wow! The Chateau is a symphony of transitions. More striking is the transformation of Dan. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it! 😊
I’m in awe of your resilience and can do attitude. I would love to have had the chance to work on such a project.
It's hard to believe it's only been 150 days. You've achieved so much. Keep going and stay safe.
My exact thoughts.
150 days of thrilles , chills, fright, joy, happiness, love and the greatest ambition I've ever witnessed, you have amazing talents, striving for perfection is beautifully achieved.
Bless your every move and action.
Bless you and your wonderful family.
Good morning team Dan
from a freezing cold New Zealand ❤
Those 150 days you have accomplished so much from being beyond super human too even scaring the pargeba’s out of us all …
We are so proud of you …
Here’s looking forward to the next 150 + zillion days of the amazing reno
😊❤
Lucky!
So agree from another New Zealander watcher😊
Couldn't have said it better. Also from NZ.
Well said, from another supporter from New Zealand 🎉
And another, in Auckland.
What difference 150 days makes
Two thoughts :-
1. Great work at Stephanies but you’ve more than paid your dues, she is surrounded by other help, concentrate on your own life going forwards.
2. It’d be super useful to have basic layout or floor plan of chateau to know what, where etc. Isn’t there still a ground floor wing under rubble - seem to remember you and orange trouser man had to give up as floor was caving into basement? Also, where is the area you were building arches near roof?
Hard to follow what’s happening so just intrigued to know……..
Keep up good work xx
Dan, you should leave a wall undone to show what the cheateau has been through. From ruins to beauty
Although I have watched every episode since the beginning and have been amazed this retrospective is awe inspiring. Good job Dan!!!!
Great recap. All I hear myself saying is 'oh I remember that' over and over. Thanks Dan.
Merci. Grâce à des personnes courageuses comme vous , le patrimoine est préservé. Merci.
Nothing is impossible if you have the desire, drive, talent and money. You showed your viewers how to achieve almost the impossible.
Remarkable, Dan, just how very much you have achieved…and such a big part of it on your own! Well done!!
It's only been 150 days?? What an amazing transformation in such a short time and with little help. Seeing the beekeeper taking out the bees, have you gotten any honey from him yet? Nick and Cameron have done an excellent job with the forest and cleaning up around the outside. And Calvin helping you muck out the first level. All that dirt and debris must have been daunting to say the least. 🍺😎🍺
I'm so impressed with what you've done at the chateau in just five months. All while doing so many other things. Well done!
What an inspiration you are Dan! With grit and determination, dreams can come true! 🏰
An Amazing role mi del for Prince Harry. 👀
Amazing job mate. It’s an honor and privilege, to share this journey with you. Cheers from down under.
Hard to express, how impressed I am. You are the man, Dan
I can't believe it's been 150 days we've been rooting you on with all your hard work! You've done a fantastic job of giving that old lady a makeover. Love your videos!
I’ve watched every minute of this as it was happening, and yet I’m still amazed at what you have accomplished! Congratulations, Dan!
So happy to see just how much you have achieved in 150 days and will be here for the next 150 and more.
I'd just love to add my voice to the chorus of "so proud of all your achievements and indefatigable spirit."
The sheer amount of effort, hard grit and dogged determination that has brought you here is truly an
inspiration to so many of us to get moving and create something. Thank you Dan for posting and I hope you
have had at least a little rest after filming Stephanie's patreon days etc etc, your health is a priority.
Those brick archways you made are my favorite part. I think because it's a little bit of beauty in all the structure and hard slogging through dirt and debris. Well done Dan, I'll be here for the next 150 days
Money, youth and good friends. I envy you. Cherish every day! :)
ONE MAN with a DREAM, wow just goes to show what can be done, all credit to you Dan and your helpers. ❤
What you have accomplished in such a relatively short time is nothing but amazing. The chateau "feels" stronger, proud. It's really stunning. Watching that synopsis of the last 150 days with you on that wobbly scaffolding makes, no doubt all of us, breathe a sigh of relief that you have the new scaffolding. Your ability is never in question. Being safe is something else again. We want to see the chateau and you continue to rise. Very proud of you. Now please belt up or whatever is needed to be safe. Sorry to be a bit of a nag. That wobbly scaffolding was a bit breath catching. Congratulations on all you have accomplished. It's truly remarkable.
If the Chateau was a person, it as well, as breathing a sigh of relief and ooh that feels good! I'm loved again! Had that impression when my husband jacked up an old sagging house. Could hear her in my head how good that made her feel.
Great work Dan. I am currently working on my four bedroom Victorian house. Before binging on your chateau renovation, I felt as though my project was as huge as yours and bordering on overwhelming. Watching your work has really given me perspective and liberated me to push on.
Having said that.... No I wont make any H&S remarks, its all been said.
Good job , great effort. Stay alive .
Iv watched you from the very beginning, when you first started work at Stephanie, you worked on your home with annalise, at Stephanie's now your place, you work so hard and im looking forward to seeing the end product as many of us are, you have come so far take care your family must be so proud of you
It's been quite the journey, and there's still more work to come. Im excited for the roof; keep up the great work, Dan!
150 grueling, inspiring days. Thank you for taking us along.
I didn't want it to stop and when you took some time off, I just forgot you are human and need a break . I'v been let down so many times I just counted this one as just another let down when you wanted to just do a recap .
Think Dan needed to take a breather😘
I guess everyone would agree with me when i write "Dan, we are in awe with your hard work!"... and i will also repeat myself... my guess are 500K subscribers by the end of 2023. You and your incredible work ethic are contagious! Bravo!!!!
Already it’s starting to shine in a very short space of time and one things for sure it will only be getting brighter. Such hard work and determination, well done Dan.
Insane progress Dan - not only on the building but there’s a bit more beef of the twigs for arms now with all that hard work!! 😊 that’s a compliment by the way..
Your personal achievements in only 150 days are absolutely awe inspiring. I truly believe no-one else would have had the stamina to get this far. Congratulations Dan.
You never cease to amaze me. Your tenacity, mental and physical determination. Your family must be so proud of you and your achievements.
May you keep going on till you forefill your dreams and then enjoy the fruits of your labour. Bravo.
Aw that was brilliant Dan! An excellent reminder of all you’ve achieved. We were shouting Oh the Tank, Oh the Arches, etc. amazing how fickle I am at forgetting! I just don’t know how you decided what to put in and what to leave out as we know that eleven minutes only scratched the surface of what you’ve achieved, you are just beyond amazing. Honestly, there aren’t words to say how proud I am of you.
Great to see you spent a weekend at Stephanie’s for the patreon days. You deserve some fun and a break. 🇦🇺
The accomplishments are so real now. I can't believe it's been 150 day and so much done. Great job!
How fun to watch this Dan. It seems like yesterday we watched all of this unfold. To think it’s been 5 months, how the time flies. Well done. We’re enjoying every minute with you.
Oh my gosh. You have put in hundreds of hours of hard labour ...so it must be a labour of love and it shows. Congratulations, only good things will come of your efforts.
I think I started watching your daily videos in the second week. And every day, whether it is in the middle of the night or at breakfast, I am really looking forward to the new video. You are doing such a great job, keep it up!
When you look back you have come along way Dan well done hard work and dedication great achievement cheers mate. 👍🇦🇺👍
Wow, what a transformation in 150 days. Great work, Dan.
It looks great just getting the dirt and plants out. Great project! Interesting to see the renovation from the ground up instead the top down.
You know I can see where this video can really help you when you tired and wondering if you did the right thing by buying this place. Just look back at how much you've accomplished. Great job Dan
150 days! What you have accomplished in this amount of time is totally amazing! It's been a blast watching your vlogs and I think I can speak for other viewers as well as myself, the next 150 will be just as exciting! Congrats Dan!!!🎉🎉🎉
I know the work invoved. Renovated an 11th century Chateau in the Languedoc. I took me 11 years and was only 85% finished when i sold it back in 2011. It was a labour of love and hid many time capsules during the work.
Impressive summary! Looks like we got a view clips we didn't get to see before. The dedication and ingenuity is admirable.
Dan my favorite man. Since the beginning you have given all of yourself to the renovations of the chateau. Labor has been the biggest challenge. You have shown such great courage and strength in bringing back this home. Until next time. Take care and stay safe my love. 🍺🙏🌹😇🕊🇺🇸❤️🌈🌞👍
OK, it's Viewer-Poll time. There are so many milestones.
The first roof - the final floor.
The first plastering, the first lick of paint...
The first staircase, item of furniture.
Not to mention the plumbing, the electrics.
But for me, it's the first night that someone (ie Dan!) sleeps inside the structure, that's when it starts to be a home again, and we can all jointly set the internet alight! What do you think?
I was thinking about roof and staircases...but then I remembered the leaf blower. xD The day Dan can no longer use the leaf blower inside! But honestly, I look forward to every milestone but also every step on the way.
That sounds so good. That Tent just looks like it would not be much of a home . I can't beleive that they didn't put some windows in it . I wonder how Dan is going to lift that Steel beam when he does not have a top floor to use as a hoist .
Hardest working man on RUclips for sure. How do you even know what project to tackle next?
Imagine being alive when this Chateau was in all its glory!!! I wish I was!
Un-flipping-believable. From dirt and trash covered and clear views to the sky (well, except for the trees) to cleared floors and newly installed upper floors in only 150 days, and mostly alone! Ye gads, Dan. Take it easy on yourself. But keep up the good work too.
It’s been a great journey to watch and to see the channel explode. Thanks for so many hours of enjoyment. I look forward to your videos
Thank you for the retrospective!! It's always good to remember where we came from to fully appreciate where we're going. You're one-man show is really spectacular, Dan!
You have proven that no task is impossible. Keep going one step at a time, one day at a time. Persistence is the key. Good job! Congratulations 🎉
So much passion, determination and love you radiate. Thank you Dan. You are truly a great inspiration for all of us...
Been an absolute joy to watch thus far. Can hardly wait for the next 150 days. Thank you for including us
A man mountain! One step at a time! Doing a great job, Dan. Must watch Vlog!!!
So much achieved in 150days!! Well done Dan and helpers of course. Can't wait to see the next chapter. Hi from Ireland
Chef, gardener, vlogger, drone pilot, videographer, substitute chatelaine, and restorer of chateaux . . . you truly are a renaissance man Dan.
Don't forget: husband, father, friend!
I often think these historic buildings heal us as we heal them. ❤
Dan is the real "Chatelain".
He's had 150 days and transformed the place.
Stephanie at Lalaland has had 15 years or more and wallpapered a few rooms or so. Now it's all got to be redone due to structural problems. Talk about neglect!
Could it be something to do with the fact that Dan works his ass off, while she jetsets around quaffing champagne and frittering away money?
@@riasimons3200this 👏👏💖
@@CaraBrimleyRules You give Stephany no credit. I suggest you do some research before you belittle her. There has been major work done. So what have you achieved in 15 years.
When this video first started I was like, "OH YEAH, it looked like that." How quickly we forget. It is absolutely astounding how much you have accomplished. This video also highlighted how much work Nic and cameron have accomplished outside as well. All this in less than 6 months. The word 'inspiring" comes to mind. 🧡
The amount of progress you have made is absolutely stunning! Seeing the state of the building in the beginning is a reminder of how far you’ve come. I’ve been with you since the beginning of this project wondering if you were mad for taking it on 😊. You have amassed a huge following and I couldn’t be happier for you! Onward and upword!
Mindblowing transformation for 150 day!!!! Unequalled excellence by Dan the Man!!! Well done young man!!!
You’ve achieved so much in such a short time well done I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again you mr Preston are an inspiration
If you showed only before and after, entitled 'one man, with occasional help' - NOBODY would guess less than a year, much less 150 days !
Where's the old old music??
Great video!! Good to see as a refresher the last 150 days.
Fantastic Even better when you put it all together We forget how far you’ve traveled There is going to be a once again beautiful chateau in amongst these trees ✊✊👍👍👍💕🕊️
Spectacular, walk DOWN MEMORY LANE. God Bless Dan, know that You are ALL Loved and appreciated.❤
Wow its amazing what you have done in 150 days Dan, I had forgotten some of it. But putting it together like that you can see how much you have done and how it has changed. WELL DONE x
It's going to exciting to see where the nxt 150 days take you. Amazing work Dan.
