I just heard from my friend that she used aluminum foil to harden the white chocolate (instead of using plastic wrap). i think that is better!!! you can easily spread the chocolate & form the chocolate into a square shape without using a square pan!!! i will add this tip in my recipe (description box) later!!! pls like this comment so that everyone can see it~ :) tks
+ochikeron this is my favourite!!!! I've been to japan before and got like 8 boxes xD I'm obsessed and so glad you shared this!!! I will try this over christmas holiday
I tried it out and let me tell you it's really delicioso!! hahaha I f you want to try it, you should do it, it's really good! Thanks for the recipe! n__n
YOU'RE MY LIFE SAVIOUR OCHIKERON!! FINALLY I DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE DAY WHERE SOMEONE I KNOW GOES TO JAPAN JUST TO GET THIS OMG THANKS SO MUCH!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! ^^ Will try this recipe soon!!! :-) regards from Singapore xxx
I have never tried Shiroi Koibito. (I never knew about it) But now I saw this video I really want to try these sometime. ^_^ Since this is your first video in 2014, I want to wish you a happy new year!!
I've been eating these like crazy ever since my friend's mom sent from Kyoto. I found the same Bourbon brand near my home. But I think I will start baking myself, maybe as welcome back for my friend, when she returns from Japan soon!
My daughter loves the Shiroi Koibito that her aunt bought back from Hokkaido to Singapore! Thanks for the recipe! Can I ask why you don't just pipe the chocolate directly onto the cookies themselves? Will they spread and get messy?
Has anyone tried making these? I want to try making some but I'm still not confident if i can actually make some. Lololol 😂😂😂😂 I love these cookies! I immediately bought more when we went to Japan last vacation. Btw, is it advised to temper the white chocolate first? Or is it an unnecessary step?
I follow your recipe but the cookies turn out to be very greasy. When I pulled them out from the over, the surface was a sort of bubbling. The taste is also different from the cookies I bought from Japan. Does it happen like that?
Nihon ni shucchou shini itta toki, nihon kara no omiyage toshite shiroi koibito to tokyo banana wo yoku kaimashita...Tsukurikata no video wo upload shite itadaki kansha shite orimasu.
This taste so good! Whenever I go to Hokkaido, my friends always remind me to get them this. If anyone have a chance to taste it, you should. I still have it in my home and it's running out!! They even have a factory that u can visit, they show you how it's made it's really a fun place to visit. And the story of this biscuit makes it taste even better
Thanks Ochikeron , for this recipe , i have eaten this before but could not find it in Singapore as only Japan has it but now i can make me myself :D Thank you ^^

I've tried it before, but that was years ago my mom went Hokkaido and bought it. The taste is unforgettable until now~ wasn't able to buy this when we went to Honshu last month, so thanks for giving this recipe. ^_^
Just tried that today, so easy and tasty! My kids love them so much but instead of cooling the chocolate and cut it into a square, i simply just melted the chocolate and spoon it between the 2 cookies then put the whole thing into thr fridge, didnt look as neat, bit still tasty ! Thanks for sharing!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS !!! Could u make a video on how to make MATCHA KITKAT? I was in Japan few weeks ago and the store workers told me matcha kitkat went OUT OF STOCK IN THE WHOLE JAPAN, my family really love IT ALOTT... T.T SO PLEASEEE AND THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

日本語訳:お友達がサランラップの代わりにアルミホイルを使ってホワイトチョコを固めたら、伸ばしやすかったと教えてくれました。確かにアルミホイルを使うと角型も要らないだろうし、オススメです♥

+JingYi Cai i have been to that factory (Shiroi Koibito Park) before~ but i didn't know it is that popular among overseas tourists. hehe

you need them all~ you repeat the step again to make another 16 pieces. please read the description box for more info. my square pan was small...
美味しくできてよかったです〜。チョコはそれっぽく作ろうと思うと手間ですよねw それでいいと思います!!!

When you do templates like that, you could scan them and post them on facebook or another of your page. Your fans will like it I think :)
thank you :D
A talking oven O.O! Everything in Japan is so cool
you can do that but that doesn't makes it look like Shiroi Koibito with white chocolate edges running off the cookies.

このご当地お土産シリーズ、面白いですね♪
みていて、私、そんなスクエアにきれいに絞れるのかな~(^^ゞ なんて思ってしまいました(笑)

why can't we put the chocolate into a pastry bag, squeeze on the biscuit and fridge it?
Bought this before from Osaka. Expensive but nice. Will try to make this one day. Thanks for sharing..
I've been eating these like crazy ever since my friend's mom sent from Kyoto. I found the same Bourbon brand near my home. But I think I will start baking myself, maybe as welcome back for my friend, when she returns from Japan soon!
どういたしまして!

My daughter loves the Shiroi Koibito that her aunt bought back from Hokkaido to Singapore! Thanks for the recipe! Can I ask why you don't just pipe the chocolate directly onto the cookies themselves? Will they spread and get messy?
you can do that~ but i wanted to let the square chocolate run off the edges like the real shiroi koibito~ hehe
sure!
I'm from Singapore! My family loves it too! And I love your videos so much!
定番の北海道土産ではありますが、言っては何ですが、ホワイトチョコを挟んだクッキーですよね?

ウナギパイつくってくださいm(_ _)m
i think 5 or 10 min is enough. 1 hour may be too long
Thank you!
Those cookies are so yummy but expensive at my local Japanese market in California. Thanks for the recipe!
Has anyone tried making these? I want to try making some but I'm still not confident if i can actually make some. Lololol 😂😂😂😂
I love these cookies! I immediately bought more when we went to Japan last vacation.
Btw, is it advised to temper the white chocolate first? Or is it an unnecessary step?
over a double boiler is necessary because white chocolate doesn't like high temperature
I follow your recipe but the cookies turn out to be very greasy. When I pulled them out from the over, the surface was a sort of bubbling. The taste is also different from the cookies I bought from Japan. Does it happen like that?
Hallo!
I have a question!!!!!!!!!!! if I don't have white chocolate . can I use plain chocolate??
yes!
If I don't have cake flour, can I use all purpose flour instead of that?
ochikeron, my cookies' middles were kinda soft and the outer area was crispy like i wanted. what should i do to make the whole cookie crunchy?
sorry, just wonder does the butter have to be room temperature?
Is it possible to make a choco dango?......
Nihon ni shucchou shini itta toki, nihon kara no omiyage toshite shiroi koibito to tokyo banana wo yoku kaimashita...Tsukurikata no video wo upload shite itadaki kansha shite orimasu.

OHHH i cant wait to try this. PLEASE MAKE MORE SIMPLE BAKING RECIPES ^_^ im actually really bad at cooking or baking complex stuff haha THANKS SO MUCH for posting this vid :D
Why do your ingredients state 240g of chocolate but your instructions only use 120g? What do you do with the other 120g of chocolate?

i think all purpose works~ by reading comments on my other cookie recipes~
Just tried that today, so easy and tasty! My kids love them so much but instead of cooling the chocolate and cut it into a square, i simply just melted the chocolate and spoon it between the 2 cookies then put the whole thing into thr fridge, didnt look as neat, bit still tasty !
