How to custom paint alcohol ink bike frame!

- This @giantbicycles TCR came out well in the end, but it was one hell of a challenge to get it done! With the combination of the messy alcohol ink process and the raw carbon giving me nowhere and no way to hide anything, let's just say it took more than a few attempts to get it right! Worth it in the end though, and the client loved it, which is all that really matters. Custom bike repaint services are a great way to personalise your mtb or road bike and make your ride truly one of a kind!

Hi I’d like to do this naked carbon finish on my bike, do I need a clear base coat and can I just use 2k clear finish coat?
Great job bike looks amazing
You need either a carbon specific clear primer or carbon specific 2k clear, standard clear won't adhere properly. Stardust colours do a good clear carbon primer, and Mipa do a good carbon clearcoat. Glad you like the paintjob, and good luck with yours!
hi what softwere do you uses to make the stickers?
We use Adobe illustrator 👍
Hi, how is alcohol ink paint holding after some time? Is it solid like normal paint?
The alcohol ink is locked in with clearcoat and is absolutely fine. I have a bike with an alcohol ink paintjob that is more than a year old and still looks exactly the same.
@@flatwhitepaintworks thanks one more question.
Did you apply alcohol ink on primer or on a base colour?
Should I do something for better grip before applying clear coat?
@@BoloPozaKontrolo the alcohol ink is over white basecoat 👍
@@BoloPozaKontrolo nope just apply clear coat over the alcohol ink. At least this worked for me. I used a stem for testing before going all out on a fork. I would definitely apply it over a basecoat. I tested on black but it's very difficult to work with. Will be doing the fork on a white basecoat.
