I've had a 2015, 2020 and as soon as they hide the cables, I will have a serious look at another one. No issue with exposed cables, but no point upgrading from 2020 that has Di2, carbon wheels, and Power Meters until there is something fundamentally different. A 12 speed cassette isn't enough to warrant an upgrade for me.

I don't mind cablings , In fact I prefer it due to mintenace and handlebar options. With integrated cabling you can't change the handle bar. My mechanic has a lots of clients with di2 cables damaged in stear tube. In the advent of remote shifting the integrated cabling looks like gimmick.

    • @yonglingng5640

Not all bikes with integrated internal routing are created equal, this is where mechanical design plays a big role and only those who work on bikes truly know about it.
My ideal configuration is one with a two-piece cockpit where the shift and brake lines are routed underneath the stem instead of inside it, so that you can still conduct a stem length swap almost as easily as a generic road bike.

Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)

I love the “un-hidden” brake hoses. IMO Giant should stick to what it believes for the TCR as a purist race bike, instead of following the trend (leave that to the Propel, Defy, & other models). Only big companies like Giant can afford that. Then the TCR will become (not that it isn’t) a “cult”
