- 🇫🇷 Parmi toutes les options à disposition quant il s'agit de décorer son vélo, je dois bien avouer que la feuille d'or a ma préférence. D'une part, parce que ça reste relativement rare que mes clients optent pour cette proposition, ça reste donc assez inhabituel pour moi, avec ce que ça implique d'angoisse et d'envie de bien faire.
D'autre part, parce que c'est un moment un peu à part : la méticulosité dont il faut faire preuve lorsqu'on manipule des feuilles d'or est telle que l'on peut difficilement faire ça autrement que dans le plus grand calme ; ce qui change complètement du bruit et de la fureur des pistolets de peinture !
Enfin, quand on voit le résultat, on comprend assez aisément la fascination, souvent mortifère, exercée par l'or sur les femmes et les hommes : c'est tout simplement magnifique.

🇬🇧 Among all the options one gets to choose from when thinking about painting a bike, I must admit that gold leaf has my preference. First, because it's still quite rare that customers choose to go for it, therefore it remains a bit unusual for me, with all the angst and concern about doing it right that it implies.
Second, because it's quite a unique moment: the meticulousness one has to demonstrate when handling gold leaf is such that you can hardly do it in anything but a peaceful environment: it couldn't be more different than the noise and the fury of paint guns !
And last, when you see the result, you get to easily understand the fascination gold exerts on mankind since the dawn of time, often with deadly outcome. It's simply beautiful.

be a few years until I get the trek emonda slr frame but was wondering if possible and roughly how much be to get white era design on it like the alr 2023 has? at end of 2024 I should have everything to build a trek emonda alr but after then thinking to build an slr frame if I can
I'm a big fan of your painting process and choices of paints. I watched another Clown paint bikes and he uses mostly waterbase which I have tried to use but the results were weak. Paint something using House of Kolor paints and it's going to be strong and durable.
House of Kolour is unavailable in France, unfortunately, it's really hard to get their products...

Awesome! You really have mastered gold leafs now. Btw, didn't the "size" adhesive damage the gold lettering? I used a laqcuer based gold foil glue and it partially washed off some of the letters that i just finished.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but I've never had any problem with the size I'm using. It's water-based, so it wouldn't damage solvant-based paint. Maybe that's the problem you're having, your size is stronger than the paint you use.

Alors oui, je reproduis systématiquement les logos d'origine, et c'est un choix en effet. Je n'aime pas l'idée d'invisibiliser une marque en fait, j'estime normal que l'on rende hommage au travail qui a été effectué, en particulier sur des marques comme Trek qui font vraiment des très belles choses.

Bonjour, je voudrais vous demander quelle taille de buse vous utilisez pour pulvériser de la peinture et de la peinture top clear 2K sur le pistolet Iwata LPH-80 ?
J'utilise généralement une buse de 0.7 et 1mm pour la peinture, et 1.2mm pour le vernis.
