@@213_e46 Oh yeah, it pops alright and you can hear it. The pops themselves sound pretty good. The exhaust incl pops aren't obnoxiously loud (think 4 banger civic), but it's definitely loud enough to where people can hear you approach. The mild hybrid has no impact on the engine itself, it just helps with gas mileage, turns off the car when you're in comfort/eco mode and come to a stop. I've gotten used to it, but apparently you can code it in to not do the auto-start/stop. Mild hybrid is def NOT a deal breaker.

I’m also generally thinking about M340’s more aggressive/sportier look, better tech, faster stock 0-60 (~4.2 vs. c43’s ~4.6), and better fuel economy. Although interior win goes to the C43. New gen of “C53” coming out and maybe more fair of a comparison- so all of this could change very soon. Btw I’m a Benz guy!

@@timcarney1627 Hey Tim, I believe 2020 model already sounds great in stock but I would say 2021 model is a MUST. I feel like it's totally a different car compare to a stock exhaust. you can only hear one of two pops with the original part but the performance exhaust its just another level. I would say it's worth the money !! :D

I was wondering the same, I have a feeling this is 2020 model. Iconic sounds needs to be turned off for a split test with MPE, otherwise we're not seeing real difference can be misleading.

@@saadahmad1719 Unfortunately with iconic off it closes the exhaust valve regardless of driving mode. I have 2023 M340i and tried it. Car stock actually sounds better then I was expecting. Pops pretty good after overrun moderate acceleration. But still concerning MPE.

Woher die Info? Ich bin mir sehr sicher, dass die Non-EU Modelle keinen opf besitzen, da er in den geographischen Räumen nicht vorgeschrieben ist. Und vom Sound her kann man auch einen opf in dem bmw anschließen.

Fahrzeug kriegt man so in DE nicht zugelassen wenn man nicht BMW AG ist;) Die Abgasanlage ist nochmal extra von M-Performance Parts und gibts auch nur außerhalb der EU zu kaufen. Wenn du ähnlichen Sound willst musst du zu Drittanbietern wie bspw. FF-Retrofittings mit ner Lightweight Abgasanlage.

@@theTUBEboy44 i am pretty sure you cant. It doesnt matter if its oem exhaust. We have emission laws which clearly demand opf and other sound regulations for newer cars to get the registration. And this one wont pass neither sound nor co2 tests, so you will need to rework the exhaustsystem. Its the same with headlights, some are allowed to use in germany, some need an e signature or it is forbidden, even if they are oem headlights made for a different country.

M-Performance exhaust is an aftermarket anyhow. So I guess you can still fit it on your car afterwards

@@Automann-TV Right, but there is no tune available for the 2021 models so there will not be any pops and bangs. The US 2021 model is significantly quieter than 2020 and previous year M340i cars. Big disappointment, my 2021 M340i sounds worse than my 2018 M340i

@@unknownsource4359 Model 2020 or older. Also M Performance or aftermarket exhaust will improve sound, but if you have an ECU that is tunable (pre-2021) you can adjust the exhaust in the tune for more or less pops and bangs.
