@@TheSundaeDrive if I wanted to reinstall the original exhaust, would I just a 3" 2 band style exhaust coupler?
Just need a clamp that will cover the cut.
Update: it's 1- 3" and 1- 2.75" clamp

Do you remember the year of this vehicle ? Apparently there is a huge difference in exhaust notes from the 2020 model and 22. Thanks in advance, loved the editing and easy to follow steps 🤙
This should be 21 or newer. BMW tuned down a lot of the crackling sound and pop sound for pretty much everything 2021 or newer
This is definitely not a 2020. This car with the MPE doesn’t sound as good as 2020’s without MPE.

Do you happen to know the inlet size for these exhausts? Is it same as stock? 2.5” ?
It fit on the stock exhaust so whatever that diameter is.
Do you have to reprogram the exhaust valve ? My stealership said it was necessary and quoted me 4 hrs labour install at $700+ ☹️
I do not believe so. We did not on this car.

Where did you get the exhaust from? If I put the specs of my car, 2020 M340i x-drive, BMW's website gives me nothing.
The customer brought this exhaust to us to install so I'm bit sure where he purchased it from. From a quick search, bimmerworld.com carries it.
If you call your dealer they should be able to get it for you. Just make sure you talk to one of the more senior parts guys.
@@TheSundaeDrive so even though people are buying after market MPE isn’t it the same exact thing if you get it from your bmw dealer? Just had a buddy who wanted one but didn’t wanna pay the $1925 it cost from a dealer if he could say a few hundred from bimmerworld

I'm kind of confused I own a M340XI... doesn't all comes with M Performance exhaust? But this sound a lot better than mine...so I guees we pay for M performance car and still don't get the full M performance package..
You will need to look at your build sheet or look at the exhaust and see if it has mperformance written on it. Bmw nickels and dimes for everything lol 😂
@@TheSundaeDrive Just went to the car to check and no mperformance text on it... quite disappointed to be honest, this car cost 100 000 USD here in Europe and I don't even got a MPE which cost like 1500 usd. Thx for your video I found out there is MPE option cause at first I thought mine is MPE since the car s marked with M in front.

Hey by any chance do you know if a 2022 M440i X drive has resonators? I want to make changes to my exhaust but dont want to spend the $2400 on the M perf exhaust

I'm new to BMW, what is MPE? Is it an option at the dealer that you can also install aftermarket? Is it available on all x40i models?
M Performance Exhaust. It is something you can purchase from the dealer. They will be able to tell you which one is compatible for your vehicle

what year is this M340? does this add pops/gurgles? I have the 2021 and unfortunately BMW severely undertones the pops in the 21 model year :( hoping to improve with this

The dinan free flow exhaust sounds much louder and much better than MPE on the m340i

Is there any performance gains?, or is its just the sound?
Might be a few horsepower. We didn't Dyno it so I'm not 100% usually the upgraded exhaust add 5-10 hp and a similar amount of torque. Not sure if this does or not tho.

labor will vary based on the shop, I think the muffler is about $2K but it varies. If you are near south jersey, we would be happy to get it installed for you!
in Bmw $1100 better find a body Shop
Is the MPE lighter?
Not sure. If it is, I doubt it is a significant weight savings. You are also adding a clamp which probably weighs about a 1lb

Why does the b58 sounds better than the s58??
Probably the exhaust setup.
Same thing with the s55, stock it sounds terrible.
paying over $1k? for almost the same sound and u still gotta cut, might as well do a muffler delete
With MPE, the car still makes backfire sounds only in the sport mode?
Are you running Bootmod3?

You usually don't get significant backfires until it is tuned. We would be happy to help with that too depending on the year of your g20
How much horsepower does it add?
i got the 2022 with the mpe 2 different bmws dealers said it would add about 20 extra horse power! and it also doesn't weigh as much as the stock exhaust
That's a lot. Don't quite believe it will actually be that high but awesome if it is.
