I have a friend from Fujian, China. And my mother's side of the family is from Cuba. We sat down and talked about communism once over dinner. We both learned quite a bit. Turns out there are different "flavors" of communism. Scotty it right, China is basically a capitalist country with a dictator at the top, but they also have, supposedly, some kind of parliament or legislative body as well. It is a weird setup, looks like China is just a quasi-communist country today, somewhat different of how the country was run 30+ years ago. Probably when the Soviet Union fell, communist China kind of fell with it I guess. But that hasn't stopped the Castro regime back in Cuba of keeping the people poor and on the brink of starvation. If a cab driver in Cuba makes $10 USD in a day shuttling tourists around, they take like $8 and leave the driver $2 for gas so he can work the next day 😆🤦🏻♂️😭. My friend assured me, the Chinese would never put with an economic system like that.
Fyi, saying the name of the human malware on video could get you demonetized.
Hey Scotty, Why is it that vehicle manufacturers sometimes mount coil springs in an offset position on macpherson struts?
Hey Scotty I want to buy a reliable little coup with a manual, did Toyota or Honda ever make one that's reliable and worth the purchase?
Scotty Kilmer - HEY SCOTTY, I’ve been trying to get my comment seen for a while. Is a 2004 Saturn VUE with 160,000 miles for $1,000 a good reliable car? I’m a senior in high school and need a cheep reliable car.
My favorite Nissans are the Z cars, they're pretty awesome, and let's not forget the fantastic GT-R!
GTR should get CVT bcs Maxima has it and is super sports car 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I had a 2006 G35 coupe...I loved it until it got totalled...
I have a 2019 370Z that's a great car.
@@videomaniac108 if no CVT no great at all 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@videomaniac108 Right now I'm driving a Mercedes roadster....but I wouldn't mind getting a new Z...
Scotty: “here’s the weirdest thing about China”
*shows picture of yao Ming*
😂😂
I bought a brand new 370Z back in 2010 and drove it for about 10 years with just oil change and zero visit to the dealers for maintenance. The only thing I replaced was fuel pump ($400 to replace). Other than that, ZERO issue. Such a solid, fun, and reliable car.
I got the 370z, 2014 new also, so far 43,000. No issues, standard, I'm 70 just for chilling around, love it.
Scotty: "Never buy a Toyota Celica...."

Scotty: "that has Yamaha designed engine."

KiiDxUPDATE 😂😂
Lol
Mine got 296k miles on my 1zz
@V S those ford sho Yamahas are beasts, especially the older ones, boxy during the fox body days they were actually under rated because they were faster And had more power than the 5.0,i had one spank me in my 92 5.0 auto, it was a 93 stick sho and from off the line, roll, even if I got a head start, that beat up sho always caught up, always got me off the line or slowly passed me on a roll race.
And when we shut down (in Mexico off road of course) at 120ish, or less it was always at least 2 car lengths or more ahead of me.
Sho was old, beat, stock.
GT has cold air intake, and a chopped up exhaust. But was that slouch of a auto sadly.
Curious if they made a auto sho during those years, if so I wonder how it would of turned out...
My Mk7 Celica was fine up to 135k miles and then got crashed into by some thugs and started leaking coolant and the mechanic didn't know how to fix it and bleed it correctly (lots of videos on youtube on how to do it) so I had to get rid of it after more damage (not by me) but up until then, if you change the oil with good oil regularly and don't thrash the car, it was one of the best cars I ever owned!!! 😪
I wish I have a time machine to go back to the 90's. Nissan had 180/200/240SX, 300ZX, Skyline GT-R R32-R34, Pulsar GTI-R, etc. Good times.
Just import the skyline.
My sister has the older Pulsar Nx SE same engine as the 240 sx. That thing ran like a clock and cornered like a go cart. It was such a fun car.
Whats the point when you guys can't even maintain a STI.
xeong5 lmao maintain an STI? LMAOOOO MAINTAIN an STI maybe because one thing breaks and then when you fix that two things break and then when you go to fix those the car doesn’t crank
They still exist you know.
I dont think people realize what a blessing the 350Z and G35 trims are. They've been kept relatively similar over the years which means tons of readily available parts and lots of common problems and troubleshooting found.
That's why im thinking of picking one up for my first car.
I miss the 1990's and early 2000's Maxima's. Those were great, fun, reliable, vehicles. Hard to believe that 20 years ago Nissan was seriously competing with Toyota and Honda.
Time To Wake Up the early 2000s maximas are reliable! I’m getting a 2005 Nissan Maxima. Happy to be an owner of one!
I hear ya; i just got rid of my 2010 maxima, good riddance! Got a 2016 rogue with 18k miles, runs great!
JUST 20 years ago ??? 20 years is a long time. I always hated nissans, whenever I look at cars, I always look at the steering wheel. If the steering wheel sucks, the car usually sucks. Nissan and ford steering wheels always sucked.
@@Anthony-kj2zj Ford doesn't suck though
@@Anthony-kj2zj wait.. so you judge a car by a steering wheel??? ok!
My 95 Maxima MT and 05 G35 MT both exceeded 240k miles with almost zero repairs and meticulous maintenance. The G35 is still in good condition.
I own a 2008 Nissan Versa hatchback that I purchased new in 2007. Except for a couple of minor accidents and regular maintenance, it's never spent a single day in the shop. It's been amazingly reliable and durable, even the interior looks almost new. I know it's 'just' a Versa, but it's by far the best car I've ever owned.
I have a 370z my self... currently at 120k miles with virtually no issues
"Put your money in the bank - not in the tank. Buy a Datsun!" -- 1980s TV commercial
Datsun....we are driven....
1VaDude except Datsun’s rusted out in most of the States 😞
Nissan's bank accounts are heading for the tank. Two birds with one stone!!
@@kentuckianaboy Not down south
@@kentuckianaboy to be fair all cars from that era had rust problems.
I have a 2012 Nissan 370Z with 3.7 L V6 and 76k miles and haven't had any problems. I always use fully synthetic oil with quality oil filters. I recently had the automatic transmission fluid flushed by a Nissan dealership. I love the car. It rides and handles great. Almost all the miles are highway miles. I used to drive it every day to work 110 miles/day. I've never driven it hard though. I love it and am always getting compliments from people.
LOL I knew if I kept watching you Mr. Scotty I'd run into one these videos about my 370z. I love watching you and I can take it. I'm just happy you're honest and help us out! I have a huge insecurity of being scammed by mechanics because I'm a woman but you have helped me soo much.
My Nissan Titan is 16 years old and it runs GREAT and I LOVE it.
Those trucks are good vehicles, both models.
Did that design have anything to do with Renault?
@@blaneblue1739 I believe the truck division has been left alone for the most part.
Stephen Schulz mee too
2004 Nissan Titan with 200k miles no issues good truck
I have an 06 G35 sedan and I love it! Runs great!
Owned a 03 Altima 3.5 automatic and that car was a beast. Drove it like I stole it fill 180k miles went 1st gear finally went out. Now own 2005 xterra with 145k and is built proof, only minor standard repairs needed. Just did full suspension replacement and feels like a sports car again even though it's an suv. Amazing car
Hi Scotty can't wait for the app
hello, me either!
Bought a new 2014 Nissan Altima use as a daily driver. Best car I’ve ever owned
How is it right now?
I have an 2008 Altima with automatic transmission and it’s great! No problems!
I've seen the Chevy dealership picture when scotty says garbage dump before, but I still burst out laughing everytime XD
or junkyard
Personally, I have a two door 08 Altima 3.5se with a 6 speed manual. Love the car and it is so fun to drive
Plan on selling it? 🤔
Love every time Scotty said garbage dump
Congrats Scotty. You finally got your Celica advice correct!
You on a roll Scotty
Best Nissan to buy is one that says Datsun on it 👍
Or until 2004.5ish...
my 1977 said both Datsun and Nissan on it. Great car.
Engine was a licensed copy of an Austin 4 banger.
Or maybe a 1994 Sentra 5-Speed.... back when they made pretty good cars! my sister's lasted over 350k miles... might still be running/driving!
Those cars are death traps
I have agree.
I love ya scotty and so does my 370z i drive it everyday and its a blast to drive and one of the best cars ive ever owned.
I was wondering where the evening video was!! I've been waiting.
I own a 2005 G35 sedan with 150k miles and runs great. Only had issues with camshaft/crankshaft sensors which was solved with a 10mm socket. Something about those old 3.5 vq motors. They're friggin bulletproof!

"As Always; Thank you Very much for Blessing Us all. With GREAT INSIGHT
I recently bought a 99 Nissan Altima with 130,000 miles on it....it's all beat up on the outside but it runs like a top!
It seems to have a very well built engine ....
I have an ‘11 Altima. Bought him in ‘12 and he’s been good to me ever since. Keep my fingers crossed he’ll last me another year, year and a half if not longer.
It will mine has 288k didn't change a alternator till the car had 250k
lamar chapman hope so! I don’t drive him much I about to hit 110k miles. Might take longer given the current world situation. So I hope he stays kicking cuz I definitely do not want another car note any time soon.
Thanks for doing a really great job in your videos.
Great advice. We need one of you in every town
Your the man Scottiy!, you have been promoted to Uncle Scotty! I Love your videos they are very helpful and informative 👍 👏 👌 😀
Scotty Kilmer for President!
This man is the ultimate car expert! Listen to him. On Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia Canada, Nissans are selling like crazy thanks to a very long established aggressive car dealer. Many folks have spent their hard earned money buying these cars. They will be extremely disappointed in a few years. My husband and I will stay far away from any Nissan car or SUV. Thanks Scotty!
Scotty you answered my questions on utube I'm honored..sinc 455.........
He said a few months ago the 350Z was the last of the Z models that was well made. The pre 2002 models seem to be well made automobiles. You still see those early Altimas and Maximas on the road.
I learn so much from you thanks 👍
You are the best Scotty. Keep it real.
Physically felt my blood pressure change when scotty recommend getting the mercury over the celica.
Same, the GT with the 1zz had some years not so hot just like the Gts 2zz, but overall they were/are great reliable fun to drive sporty cars
The little edits on sides have me rolling 😂
I had 2017 altima, it never gave me any issue, it was running like a charm, just traded it in for acura mdx.
May be the altima i had was a particularly good unit, I heard alot about problems with nissan cvt transmission but I did 100k kms ( 62k miles) never had a single issue with it.
They have warranty of 100,000miles
That's nothing for miles.....I'd hope anything would go 62k miles
..that doesnt mean anything
Mr. Kilmer
I just want to thank you I'm watching your videos of cars to stay away from. When I shop for my first new car. Which I know will save me money and heartbreak later thank you!
Scotty Hello from Florida 🍊!
Hi honey!
Thank you for your input
2005 Nissan Pathfinder LE, 188K. I've done new valve cover gaskets, battery alternator. Clean car seems to have been serviced regularly. But I'd love to hear your input on it. Thanks and always love your videos!
I don't know much about the Nissan Z, but if you're looking for an Altima, maxima or Sentra, the last really good years for those cars were 2003. Especially in regards to the Maxima. The 5.5 gen was the last good maxima.
I love you Scotty!
Then a g37 is a reliable car good to hear that
My 1980 280zx running great. 17 yrs ownership A to B car. Fun drive
There's a 98 Nissan Sentra that an older lady owns down the street. I've been thinking about asking her about selling it. In western Pennsylvania and garage kept, I really want it. That GA16 engine is bulletproof.
My 2008 v6 6mt Altima coupe just hit 230,000 miles and still can out accelerate most vehicles out there! ... and I’m still on the original clutch!
I added a 2019 370z for the summer this year - manual of course!
That Mercury Marquis is a heck of a deal. Those things are supposed to last as long as any auto you can find.
I own a 370z 2014 runs great with its 6spd trans very happy with the vq engine WARD'S rates the VQ ENGINE top 10 in the world 10 years running!!!!
I dig the Nissan V6 engine
Had a '85 Nissan King Cab with the NAPSZ engine (2 plugs per cylinder) no issues, ran great for 15 years, until wrecked. Nissan is a shadow of its former self and probably in its death throes especially with Renault/Peugeot .
Badass was it 4x4?
Got a 93' kingcab here.
I had an ‘88 I inherited from my dad that he bought brand new. I drove it until about 450k miles until I screwed up the transmission myself in 2002. Someone offered us a lot more money than it was worth so we sold it. That guy put in a new transmission and it’s still running today with the original motor and that transmission he put it
you're popping up faster and faster on my feed Scotty !!
gizmo no it pays better to talk about cars than to fix them
I have owned a 74 260 Z and a 78 280 Z. Both pale in comparison to my 94 Celica.
I haven't have any problems with my Frontier. Never had any problems with the xterra or the maxima.
I do like the new Nissan style though, they need to update their transmissions, CVT is either hit or miss. I like how they implemented All Wheel Drive in the Maxima and Altima. Hopefully there will be a AWD sentra and Versa!!
My wife bought a brand new 240sx back in 1990 with a 5 speed. She still has it and its been a great car for 30 years.
Hi Scotty hope you had a great day!
hello, thanks you too!
Last Datsun I had was a 1600 Roadster...
Great fun car... but I was great and fun back then too...
BartRicky omg! Imagine what that would be worth in mint condition today! So many Datsun’s rusted out in the States
thank you for the tip mr JOHN LENNON
First view for the first time 🥳
Nissan trucks have always been good. My 09 Xterra had no issues with 200k miles. Had to replace a wheel bearing and a window switch and nothing else. My 2014 Xterra is just as good.
I had a 2015 Nissan Vera Note one year ago and so glad I got rid of the car even with low mileage
Shades scotty is cool!
Honestly the Nissan Maxima in my eyes are the the most reliable in the whole manufacturer you don’t see many problems with them other then the 2004-2006 models
Plus cvt models 😂
I have 1998 that has over 280k.
Runs great!

G37
GT-R
G35?

Best Nissan, 96 to 2004, Terrano/Pathfinder, particularly, the Diesel Engine version, push rod, solid cast iron, with small Turbo, (amazing economy) & had the Skyline GTR Transmission, & Nissan Patrol axles, very bullet proof. Rest of the mechanic's very simple.
I miss my '82 Datsun pickup.....
But it rusted away before too long .......
I had a Manual Transmission 1993 Nissan Sentra 2 door, that thing had over 300,000 miles on it and it just went and went and went. Started off as a 5 speed but eventually 5th gear quit on me, probably could have been prevented if I changed the fluid when I had first got it. But I was always just on the go so I never got to it. But anyways I saw that little car drive around town for about 4 years after i had it. The old Nissan’s are much better then the new ones
Scotty's you're so awesome so full of energy I like how you just get right to the point I have a 2004 Ford escape and the belt stop turning but the car starts I turned I pulled over as soon as I heard seen smelt smoke and seen smoke briefly when I went back to my car that the belt was turning again and I was able to make it home which was down the any advice for me
scotty..the 350z and 370z's are excelelent.. they have very little recalls and they are strong as tanks..but people do abuse them.. the best thing is that they are pretty good to service..
