Right here🇺🇲
Back again and still getting chills every time.. Soo good!!

I do, my good Sir. greetings from Spain!
Me I just did
Whoever made the decision to get Chris Stapleton to do the national anthem at the Superbowl needs a raise. A defining moment in history. 👏
A defining moment in history, please explain
@@huh88huh it's fairly self-explanatory but since you can't see it I'll oblige. This rendition will be talked about for decades. That alone is what will make it defining.
If this is a defining moment of your history then I'm proud to be European 😂
@@brycewilliams9778 I’m not even American and this made my eyes water. That has never happened before in my 40 years of life so I understand what you mean.

Funny how it’s 2024 Super Bowl and I’m back here trying to rewatch Chris Stapleton ..amazing
Same.

Hell ya I had to come back and watch how it's really supposed to be done
They should have just replayed this tbh lol
Im glad I didn’t see the 2024 version, too many songs in the place of the one REAL anthem

I’ll give the Americans one thing that is unmatched. The love of their country and anthem.
Its awsome to watch.
Thank you. I wish it touched all of us but it doesn't 😊
They are the only things our corporate owned government hasn’t ruined for us yet
There is plenty that live here and hate it. The stronger the hate the stronger the love.
Thank you
Yeah. Our national anthem slaps forsure
I'm not even American, but the Country style rendition of the National Anthem, the Eagles coach shedding tears, and the US Navy with the supercarrier and jets - what a great way to showcase America and instill patriotism in its people. The performance was beautiful and gave me goosebumps.
Yes, sir...me too not even an American, but after hearing this, feels like one...
❤️
I wouldn’t say that was country. He has a soulful style of singing.
I agree, that wasn't country...that was soul.
Thank you that means a lot to me
Chris Stapleton making benches full of grown men, giant football players, crying like babies shows how beautiful of a voice he truly has.
Yeah, I almost cried too, trying to listen to that mess!!

I came here to listen to Chris Stapleton sing after I heard Pink say that him singing the National Anthem was the best thing she had ever heard… (besides Whitney Houston’s version)

He should've perfomed in 2024 again. His performance was way too good.
100%
He needs to perform the halftime show also!
Everything in moderation. However, a Stapleton halftime show would actually be legendary. No Bs, no lip syncing, no choreographed nonsense, no fireworks. Just a man and a guitar with the pipes of an angel.
Stapleton turned it into a gospel.. it’s filled with confidence, hope, strength but still humble. It’s a rendition that makes you thank God for blessing us with such a great country to live in. Very humbling and worth listening to many times for years to come!
It's the anthem of our time. It's subdued, contemplative, and yes, humble. The country is in decline, but there is even more at stake than just a country and her borders.
For 2 minutes there was no hate, no division, no republicans vs democrats… only Americans who absolutely cried and appreciate Chris Stapleton’s rendition… He did an incredible job and I hope the best for our country… ❤❤
They still stamped a rainbow flag of humans right in the military presence for some reason
@@BilbosaurGaming I double dog dare you to do an ounce of research into why the crew of an aircraft carrier might be wearing those colors.
And not 2 mins. after the game's end, there was hate, division, chiefs vs. eagles fans, and people who were outraged, and some who cried... in some parts of the country....
it sucked
@@BilbosaurGaming Actually I’m worried you won’t research it, so I’ll fill you in anyway to keep you from blindly spreading your stupidity and bigotry anywhere else. There are countless hands on deck conducting flight operations, with the different bright-colored shirts signifying different roles. This helps everyone on deck to quickly differentiate between them in a busy and crowded space. They stood tall in their uniforms, proudly representing their profession and country. No agenda pushing here, quit reaching.
He didn't "perform" this, he sang it from his soul. It was absolutely breathtaking and exactly what our National Anthem should be.
A little louder for the people in the back row Ms. Elizabeth!
Okay calm down Becky
AMEN!🙏🇺🇸
He sounded good it all comes from listening to older soulful Black artist soul. Nothing new so it's a big deal to people whenever Caucasians do it. It's just Black singing in whiteface... period

Reba was aight. My man Chris still did it the BEST. Chilling!
100%. Chris set the bar… sorry to those who follow in his footsteps.
Yeah Reba was very underwhelming
Kinda didn’t like her version
Unpopular opinion but while I recognize Reba is quite talented, I don't care for her voice and did not enjoy her version.
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT!!!
It is not debatable that this is the best version of Americas national anthem to date coming from an English man I’m happy that use got to experience this and almost jealous in the same sense, so raw and full of emotion and pride, I hope use see through all the politics, division and come together. God bless
Hands down the best rendition since Whitney. So much freakin SOUL in that performance.
was thinking just about Whitney as I was reading the comments...
I couldn't agree more!
Jennifer Hudson craps all over this
She lip synced so it ruins it for me.
@@HughJorgan1 as a performance, Whitney was still amazing, probably the best lip sync ever

Lucky you! We didn't get tickets 😢
He is amazing in concert. My best friend of 35+ years took me to his concert in June 2023 in Seattle! Amazing!!!!
You're so lucky, I hope you have a wonderful time.🙂
My boyfriend and I saw him in 2015 at the historic Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK and we were "on the rail", and only paid $15 per ticket.
The main difference between this and other renditions is he sang it as if he was telling the story of the United States reflecting on the pain and sacrifices that got us to where we are instead of just belting. Honestly great performance!
This comment right here is as good as the singing. Very well put
Thank you for this comment. So many people sing the songs with no true idea of where this country stood when it was written. A young country that was facing another attack by the British wanting their colonies back. Nothing was guaranteed at that time due to the strength of the British empire and could we prevail in the War of 1812. Our White House had been burned down, harbors and borders crossed. When the lyrics “oh say does that star spangled banner still wave” has meaning behind it. People too often sing it with a sense of arrogance and often over the top singing completely missing the mark behind the significance of the words in those lyrics. There was a sense of fear and trepidation.
My favorite rendition is Marvin Gaye singing the song in 1983 at the NBA all star game.
Yeah, he is a master storyteller. Jim Croce was also one, but with a very different style.
@@gametime2473 I’ve never heard his rendition. Thank you for letting me know so I can check it out.
Bingo! It's the first time I feel the war and battle behind the Anthem.
I have never, ever, played the national anthem so much in my entire life. It's like he returned the soul to it after all these years.
Those runs...they make you believe in God if you don't already hahah! Absolutely incredible.
Me either. It sounds so simple and eloquent. But, if you’re a musician you know how there’s nothing simple about it. I think someone counted the notes he sang in that one run, and It was like 74 notes!! As an American, I was so proud of him!! 🇺🇸💪💪🏾💪🏿💪🏼🇺🇸

It's such an inspiring and beautiful rendition of the song. It's simultaneously somber and uplifting and his vocals are not gratuitous, which is the mistake so many people who perform it make.

Chris Stapleton isn't just country. He's in a very elite class of artists who are a genre all their own. He can't be compared to or put in a labeled box. His talent is immeasurable. He sang that from his heart. He gave it a piece of his heart and shared it with us.

I love that Chris and Whitney's versions are SO different. She had a full orchestra, he just had a guitar. Both are so powerful. When you add Hendricks Woodstock solo, and Marvin Gaye's NBA All Star game performance, you begin to musically scratch the surface of what this anthem truly means.
As an Aussie, there is nothing better than the American National Anthem sung with such gusto. Congratulations Chris Stepleton

This has to be the best rendition of the anthem since Whitney Houston’s 1991 SB rendition. Truly amazing and special.
Marvin Gaye was better.

The poem that later became the U.S. national anthem was written about the famous Battle of Baltimore during the British-American War of 1812. At one point during this battle, Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland, was bombed for 25 hours straight. I like the fact that you enjoy the American national anthem even though it’s written about the battle between your country and our newly formed country at the time. Pretty ironic but my hats off to you gingerbubbles8. ❤

No over the top performance.
No flashy tones.

This was one of my favorite renditions of the National Anthem. But I am sure Chris Stapleton respects the "over the top" performances with "flashy notes" just as much as his own. They are artists. As a Frenchman, honestly, when I hear that anthem, I feel it just as strongly as if it were my own country. I'm in love with the American anthem. I find it so powerful and beautiful. I still think about this performance, I held back a few tears over this one and I’m Canadian for crying out loud! Lol
I believe this was the purest and most moving rendition of the National anthem I have ever heard.
Whitney is right there also.
Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston made us proud to be Americans, Chis Stapleton's made us feel what its like to be an American, Chris 's version hands down is what the National Anthem should makeus feel everytime we stand for it..
Amen ,1000%
Perfectly summed up what everyone was feeling with this
Amen!!! So agree
The national anthem should be a song any American can sing.
Perfectly said!!!!!🙌🏻
seeing these grown men tearing up shows how powerful and amazing he was
Honestly they should just have Chris do it every year. Nobody can ever compete with this performance!! Best of the best!
As an Italian, this interpretation gives me chills, even if I'm not American it gives me an immense sense of patriotism, as immense is the talent of Chris
Same. I’ve got goose bumps and I’m Aussie.
It’s beautiful!
Same from canada
God bless this whole world. If it wasn't for politicians the vast majority of us would get along.
@@thepitpatrol you betcha!
I’ve never been so moved by the singing of the national anthem. Just Spectacular !! New American here , so proud 🎉
Welcome!
He is amazing. Welcome home, American! ❤
Welcome, friend! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🤝🏽
Welcome welcome welcome! 🇺🇲💯❤️🙏
Hey man, please view Jose Feliciano's performance at the 1968 world series, another magical performance.
America has the best anthem in the world.
The DEFINITIVE National Anthem rendition of an entire generation if not in US History. Chris Stapleton touched the SOUL. This version will forever be how every singer of the National Anthem past, present and future will be judged.
Seriously one of the best renditions of our national anthem that’s ever been done. Chris’s voice is absolutely amazing! What a beautiful tribute to our country and to our nation.
NO ONE WILL TOP WHITNEY'S PERFORMANCE. NOBODY.
Chris Stapleton’s rendition was one of the BEST !!
@@kendrathompson1572 imo Chris did better but it's kind of a close call so 🤷♂️
@Kendra Thompson Like Ralph said, ‘ONE OF THE BEST…’ Everything Chris lends his voice to is golden!
@@kendrathompson1572 Period!
This and Whitney Houston are my favorite renditions. Both so beautiful in their own way. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
TOTALLY.
Agreed I’ll always miss Whitney 🙏🙏
My thoughts exactly, Straight from the soul
@@LimitedEdition568 You can’t expect a country singer like Chris to sing it the way Whitney did. He’s not pop/rnb.
@@LimitedEdition568 Whitney Houston sang a rendition of it............... It's not like she read the original and only sang that. She added he own flair and stylistic approach.
As an Aussie, that gave me chills. I hope I get the chance to see the great man live. His voice just pierces your soul. Just an amazing artist
He just announced he’s coming to Australia. I’m a massive Aussie fan too 🇦🇺🦘
Youre probably reading this because you came back to this after Reba's rendition of the anthem... 😆
That is correct, you're a regular Nostradamus. :)
Hers was bad bad lol
His performance of the anthem was one of the best ever. He sang from his heart and the whole stadium sang the last few words with him. Ppl have commented on social media that they didn't like him without his hat on but I feel like he did that out of respect for the anthem. Thank you, Chris.
That's exactly why. Because the man has respect for his country and it's anthem.
You are right. You DON'T wear a hat while singing this. God bless.
Anybody who's reaction is to judge Chris for his long-haired appearance without the hat is probably not that interesting of a person.
@@sotthapana who are you again?
It’s a shame it was ruined with the “black” anthem afterwards. Guess America’s anthem is for all Americans, except them.
